The Importance of Worship – Tapping Into the SuperNatural

Intro:

  • I can only minister out of my overflow.
  • Where the Lord has me right now is worship.
  • There Lord has me pursuing the SuperNatural.
  • When you are Born-Again you take on a new nature.
  • The SuperNatural is supposed to be Natural to you.
  • Wherever the SuperNatural is not natural, in that area, you are carnal.
  • Worship is one of the ways to enter into the Presence of the Lord, so you can receive from the SuperNatural.
  • In worship you get a foretaste of heaven.

Let’s start by building on the Foundation that has already been laid:

Illustration:

  1. The Lord Speaks to You

  • Through the Holy Spirit
  • In Prayer
  • Through a Prophetic Word
  • Through the Word of God

(Mat 6:10) Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

  • It ALL starts with SEEING and HEARING.
  • Nothing happens without you first hearing from Heaven.

  1. You have to Believe it

  • You will never BE what you cannot SEE.
  • Your feet will never take you where your eyes have never been.

  1. You have to Activate Your Faith for it

  • Faith requires action.
  • This is when you cross the faith line.
  • Faith agrees with heaven.
  • *** Not so IT CAN happen, but because IT ALREADY HAS happened!
  • The Earth is on delayed time.
  • In Heaven it has ALREADY HAPPENED!

  1. The Grace Factor

  • Everything God gives you, He gives you by grace.
  • You are not earning it, it was given to you before the Foundations of the world.

(Jer 1:5 KJV)  Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

(Ps 139:15,16 MSG)  You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something.

Psa 139:16  Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.

(Isa 49:1 NLT)   Listen to me, all you in distant lands! Pay attention, you who are far away! The LORD called me before my birth; from within the womb He called me by name.

Isa 49:5  And now the LORD speaks—the One who formed me in my mother’s womb to be His servant, who commissioned me to bring Israel back to Him. The LORD has honored me, and my God has given me strength.

(Rom 8:28,29 NLT)  And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.

Rom 8:29  For God knew His people in advance, and He chose them to become like His Son, so that His Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

  • All of us have this purpose:  To be conformed to the image of His Son!

(Eph 1:3,4 NLT)  All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

Eph 1:4  Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes.

What is faith?

  1. Faith is the connection between heaven and earth.
  2. The only way you can connect with heaven is faith.
  3. Faith brings the beyond to the here and now.  If it does not bring the beyond to the here and now, it is not faith.
  4. There is nothing, that is in heaven, that is revealed to you, that faith can’t bring.
  5. Faith causes two worlds to merge!
  6. Faith is the merging between the invisible and the visible.

(2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NCV)
So we do not give up. Our physical body is becoming older and weaker, but our spirit inside us is made new every day. We have small troubles for a while now, but they are helping us gain an eternal glory that is much greater than the troubles. We set our eyes NOT on what we see BUT on what we CANNOT see. What we see will last only a short time, but what we cannot see will last FOREVER.

  1. While You wait your FAITH must be IN GOD!

  • You may think you know the What (but His what is often better than your what)
  • You won’t know when (unless He tells you)
  • You won’t know how (unless He reveals it to you)
  • But you better know WHO!
  • Never be confused about the WHO!
  • Paul said, “I know whom I have believed.”

  1. ***Worship helps you get the WHOLE PROCESS STARTED!***

  • Nothing happens until you hear from Heaven!
  • In worship you get a foretaste of heaven.
  • When I hear from heaven I can:
    • Believe
    • Release my faith
    • Wait with expectation
  • Now that I know my faith must be in God, then I can freely worship!

  • And I am to WORSHIP, even when I am not believing God for anything!
  • I worship Him, because without Him I would not have life, I would not have purpose, I would not have grace, I would not have Jesus, I would not have salvation, I would not have anything!

How do you know when you have entered into true worship?  Here’s the answer: when you are  no longer conscious of yourself or what you were thinking about (cares, concerns, what you need to do later, etc.) before you started worshipping.  Once you cross that threshold you get to the place where the supernatural can be released in your life.

*** True Worship brings about Repentance ***

*** True Worship releases Revelation!!! ***
(Isaiah 6:1-9 NLT)  It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne, and the train of His robe filled the Temple.

Isa 6:2  Attending Him were mighty seraphim, each having six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew.

Isa 6:3  They were calling out to each other, “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of Heaven’s Armies! The whole earth is filled with His glory!”

Isa 6:4  Their voices shook the Temple to its foundations, and the entire building was filled with smoke.

Isa 6:5  Then I said, “It’s all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.”

Isa 6:6  Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal he had taken from the altar with a pair of tongs.

Isa 6:7  He touched my lips with it and said, “See, this coal has touched your lips. Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven.”

Isa 6:8  Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.”

Isa 6:9  And He said, “Yes, go, and say to this people, ‘Listen carefully, but do not understand. Watch closely, but learn nothing.’

*** True Worship is REQUIRED in order to LIVE BY FAITH ***

*** True Worship takes me into the Presence of the Lord ***

*** You experience the Glory of God in the Presence of the Lord!

  • God is Glory!
  • You cannot disconnect, detach, or decouple God from His Glory!
  • Glory emanates from God.

The Anointing, Faith, and Glory:

  • The Glory is the presence of the Lord.
  • Faith is you and God.
  • The anointing is God through you.
  • The glory is not you.
  • The Glory is God operating!
  • When you are in faith you can worship God No matter the circumstances.
  • If your circumstance is more of a reality to you it will rob your praise.
  • When you’re in faith you don’t conform.

  • The anointing is for work.
  • The glory if for rest.
  • When you pray for someone the power of God is released through you (the anointing). But when the Glory is present the power of God can be released directly from the Hand of the Father!

(Ecc 3:11 AMP)  He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.

Worship unleashes the Hand of God:  Let’s use David as an example.
(Psalm 9:1-3 Passion)  O Lord, I will worship You with extended hands As my whole heart explodes with praise! I will tell everyone everywhere about Your wonderful works And how Your marvelous miracles exceed expectations!
(v.2)  I will jump for joy and shout in triumph As I sing Your song and make music for the Most High God.
(v.3)  For when You appear, I worship While all of my enemies run in retreat. They stumble and perish before Your presence.

(Psalm 18:34-36 Passion)  You’ve trained me with weapons of warfare-worship, Now I’ll descend down into battle with power, To chase and conquer my foes.
(v.35)  For here is how You empower me: Your wrap-around presence gives me victory. Your power within makes me strong to subdue, And by stooping down in gentleness to strengthen me You’ve made me great!
(v.36)  You’ve set me free from being captured And now I’m standing complete, ready to fight some more!
