You Are NOT Just NOT GUILTY!

by Rick

Yesterday I preached a message entitled, “I am NOT just not guilty!”  This morning I am led to share a short recap of the message with you.  This is type of message that you must receive and meditate on.  I will post an audio copy of the message online and provide you a link in the days to come.  For today I urge you to receive what God is saying and to meditate/medicate on it, so you can walk in the freedom Christ Jesus provided you.

I painted the picture of a man in jail about to stand trial.  This man knows he has done wrong.  He is not looking for justice, he is looking for mercy.  Let’s say that man is YOU.  You walk into the courtroom only to realize you have been assigned a new attorney.  The attorney is your big brother.  If that were not enough, you and your attorney look up at the stand and, to your surprise, your father is the judge.  This is what will happen someday within the courtroom of heaven.  Satan is the prosecuting attorney.  The Bible says he accuses you before the Father day and night.  But God, the ultimate judge, listens to the testimony of Jesus, your attorney.  Jesus not only pleads your case before the Father, but He submits a request to TAKE YOUR PUNISHMENT for you.  Both you and Jesus know you have done wrong.  It’s not like satan is lying.  Satan has documented all the wrong you have ever done and he took good notes.  Satan makes his case and his case is a strong one.  But Jesus, standing in the gap for you, decides to TAKE YOUR PUNISHMENT.  The Judge looks at you and His Son Jesus.  The Judge declares Jesus GUILTY and declares you NOT GUILTY.  The Judge PUTS YOUR SINS ON JESUS and puts HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ON YOU!

You are then escorted out of the jailhouse and you are set free.  But unlike a modern-day scenario, where a newly freed man is left alone, having to fend for himself after being freed, Jesus promised to never leave you, nor forsake you.  You are NOT GUILTY, but you are not JUST not guilty.  You are also called.  You are saved and called (2 Tim 1:9).  Some day you are going to heaven, but for now, every day the Father expects you to bring heaven to the earth.

So what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

  1.  God saved you through the Blood of Jesus, but He also called you to your divine purpose.  It is true that (if you are Born-Again) God has declared you NOT GUILTY.  God put the punishment for your sin on His own Son.  You have been washed clean by the Blood of Jesus.  But you are not just NOT guilty.  You are called according to God’s divine purpose for your life.  Accept the message of salvation (saved from sin), but also accept the message of the Kingdom (bringing heaven to the earth).

  1.  The message of going to heaven is a “SOME DAY” message.  The message of The Kingdom is an “EVERY DAY” message.  Some day you will go from EARTH-TO-HEAVEN.  But for now, every day the Father expects you to bring HEAVEN to the EARTH!

  1.  In heaven Jesus presents you faultless before the Father.  In the earth you are supposed to present Him faultless before the world.  In heaven Jesus represents you, in the earth you represent Him.  People who are not saved are not spiritual.  They don’t have the Holy Spirit.  They can’t see Jesus.  But they can see you!  That’s why Jesus needs you to RE-present Him in the earth.  The world is looking for Jesus and they will find Him IN YOU!

  1.  Don’t judge your future by your past.  God is not holding your past against you.  Judge your future by God’s purpose for your life!

  1.  When satan looks at you he sees sin.  When God looks at you He sees His Son.  For God to deny or disown you, he would have to deny and disown HImself! (see 2 Tim 2:13).

  1.  In salvation God gave you mercy, holding back the punishment you deserved.  In your calling you get to tap into the grace of God, accepting the good you don’t deserve.  Enter this day thanking God for both His grace and His mercy!

Closing Confession:  Father, I thank You for saving me from hell.  Jesus paid a price I could not pay, for a debt He did not owe.  Jesus released His righteousness and took on my sin, so I could release my sin and take on His righteousness.  I have already been judged.  You have declared me “NOT GUILTY!”, because of Jesus.  But I am not just NOT GUILTY!  I am also called.  I know I will go from earth-to-heaven some day.  But for now my focus is bringing heaven to the earth every day.  In heaven Jesus presents me faultless before You.  In the earth I present Him faultless before the world.  Up there Jesus represents me.  Down here I represent Him!  So I enter this day thanking You for Your mercy and fully embracing Your grace.  I walk in my divine assignment.  I know I am called.  I know You have chosen me for such a time as this!  So together Father, You and me, we are going to change the world!  I declare this by faith!  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

This is Today’s Word!  Apply it and Prosper.
