Faith, Trust, Hope and Light

by Rick

The U.S. election is over.  We have a new President-Elect.  Some are elated.  Others are dismayed.  God is not moved.  All year long I have been teaching you to refine and maintain your focus.  In January I told you that this year would be a year of Refined Focus for us.  Whether your candidate won or lost, your focus should not have been lost.

As I prayed over what to share with you this morning, the Father spoke four words to me: faith, trust, hope and light.  I will speak to each.

So what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

1.  Faith.

a)  Faith begins where the will of God is known.

b)  God can speak to you as you read His Word, while you are in prayer, in a dream while you asleep, in a vision while you’re awake, through others, through circumstances, and etc.  Once you know God’s will you have a decision to make.  If you believe it, settle it in your heart, and then proceed to make decisions as if it’s already done (even though it has not manifested itself yet), that is called faith.  This is how God expects you to live.

c)  You must hear from God, because faith is not you telling God what to do.  Faith is God telling you what to do.  Faith is not you attempting to get God to put a “yes” on your plans. Faith is God attempting to get you to put a “yes” on His plans.

d)  Whatever God told you before the election is still valid.  If you had faith before Tuesday, your faith should not have been shaken on Tuesday night.

2.  Trust.

a)  While faith is what you do when you know the will of God, trust is what God requires when you don’t.  God expects you to put your faith in what He revealed to you and to trust Him in the areas where He has not revealed Himself to you yet.

b)  If you are confused by the results of the election, then you should find peace in knowing that God is not confused.  He knew what would happen, He is not phased, and He expects you to trust Him.

c)  Trust God when you can’t trace Him.  Trust God, even when you are not sure what is going on.  Why?  Because you know that He can make all things work together for your good!

3.  Hope.

a)  God has promised to always be with you.  He will never leave you, nor forsake you.  Since you are never helpless, you should never be hopeless.

b)  When people come in contact with you they should hear hope in your words, they should see hope on your face, and then should sense hope from your heart.  If God lives IN you, hope should be emanating from you every day.

4.  Light.

a)  God does a lot of things, but there are only two things the Bible says God IS.  God is love and God is light.  Since God lives IN you, He expects you to allow His light to shine through you, for all the world to see.

b)  God does not require you to generate the light.  He is the light and He is IN you.  All He is looking for you to do is to LET His light shine through you.  As long as you don’t block the light, His light will shine.  Unfortunately, many believers are BLOCKING God’s light because they are upset with the results of the election.  God is not able to shine through them because there is too much of THEM in the way.  If that’s you this morning, spend time in prayer.  Die to self.  Rest in God.  And when you come out of your prayer closet, allow God’s light to shine through you again.

c)  When people talk to a believer they should not hear the same things they are hearing on the news.  God expects you to be His Ambassador in the earth.  You are a spokesperson for Heaven.  When people talk to you they should hear what God is saying in this season.  Remember, as Jesus is, so are we, in this world (1 Jn 4:17).  If you are not speaking what God is saying, you are not representing Jesus as  you should.

Closing Confession:  Father, I thank You for helping me to recalibrate my focus.  This is a season of refined focus for me.  I die to self.  I live for You.  I hear from heaven daily.  I believe everything You tell me.  I live by every Word You speak to me.  I have faith in what You reveal.  I trust You in the areas where You have not revealed Yourself to me yet.  I am an emissary of hope, because I am the Ambassador of Heaven assigned to this world.  I am in the world, but not of it.  I represent heaven daily.  I speak heaven’s agenda on this planet.  People hear hope in my words and they see Your light in my life.  Because it is You Father, living  in me, You give me the words and You perform the work.  I declare this by faith.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

This is Today’s Word!  Apply it and Prosper.
