A Year In Review (Part 1)

by Rick

I only have two messages left this year.  Wednesday morning my family is going on vacation and I will take my year-end sabbatical until January.  It’s been an amazing year.  I trust that this series has been a blessing to you.  I pray that you have Refined Your Focus in 2016.  On January 4, 2016, when I started this series, all I had was the instructions from God to do so.  11(+) months later I can say that I have truly enjoyed this series and this time with you.  I consider it an honor and privilege to be able to share the Word of God with you on a daily basis.  As we close out the year I feel led to provide you a recap for the next couple of days of some of the things we learned in 2016.

So what does this mean to you today?  Let’s get into our recap and see.

1.  The key to your success is God’s finished work.

a)  God made plans for you before the world began.  Therefore you can never be a success in God’s eyes outside of His plans.

b)  God has already given you, by grace, everything you need to accomplish what you were born to accomplish.  This is God’s finished work.

c)  When you discover and make an alignment with your divine assignment you begin to flow in the grace of God and your success will come by His power.

2.  Divine focus is absolutely critical to earthly success.

a)  In this season your TO DO list is not as important as your NOT TO DO list.  Cut away things that don’t line up with God’s purpose for your life.

b)  Anything that is NOT taking you towards your divine purpose is a time waster and in this season the Lord is looking for you to eliminate it.

c)  Your mind is the arena of faith where the battle for control of your life is fought every day.

3.  Never underestimate the power of a single thought.

a)  One thought from satan can not only distract you, but it can ultimately derail you from pursuing your destiny.

b)  One thought from God can turn any seemingly hopeless situation around.

c)  One thought from God can give you the idea you need to change your financial future.

d)  Continuous thoughts from satan, if allowed to flow unchecked, can lead to feelings of failure, discontent, dejection and ultimately even depression.

4.  Divine focus enables you to live out your God-given vision.

a)  Since God has given you the power to make your own decisions, the most complicated thing in life is weeding through what seems to be countless alternatives.  This is why you must develop a relationship with the Holy Spirit and be led of Him.

b)  You were not born to do everything.  Knowing your purpose and receiving divine vision makes life simple.  People who are led by their God-given vision don’t dibble and dabble in everything.  They know where they are going and they have the discipline to remain on course.

c)  Divine vision becomes the source of discipline.  Divine vision will motivate you to forego the alternatives for the lives God planned for you to have.

d)  Divine vision inspires passion.  Visionaries are passionate about life.  Knowing you are pursuing your life’s purpose is exciting!  You get up everything morning motivated by your life’s assignment.

Closing Confession:  Father, this has been a year of refined focus for me.  We have come a long way in 2016.  I can say today, at the end of 2016, that I am much better for having received divine vision from You and for having refined my focus to the point where I can pursue it with clarity.  You have already blessed me with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.  I now have the insight and focus to be able access and experience those blessings in the earth.  My life has changed and it will never be the same.  I walk in Your best today and every day of my life!  I declare this by faith!  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

This is Today’s Word!  Apply it and Prosper.
