As Jesus Is (Pt. 18)

by Rick

Today we continue our series entitled, “God Loves You”, under the overall theme for the year of, “Supernatural Manifestation.”  We have been looking at the following two passages and we will go back to them today:

The Apostle John said:

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

(1 John 4:16, 17 KJV)

King Solomon said:

God has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end.

(Ecc 3:11 AMP)

I made the following statement about these two scriptures:

“The Bible is clear that God made plans for us before the world began.  The challenge for us, when we are born and begin to walk through life is to: (1) accept Jesus as Lord, because our journey begins with Jesus (2) receive the revelation of God’s plans through the Holy Spirit, (3) fight the urge to feel unworthy and to disqualify ourselves before we ever get started, (4) renew our minds to believe what God believes about us, (5) wait on God’s timing for the things He revealed to come to pass, and (6) launch out to experience what God revealed when the timing is right.  Now, what I just said in these six points is much easier said than done, but the pursuit of it becomes the joy of the journey with Jesus.”

I have discussed all six points already, but I am led to go back and further discuss the last one.

So what does this mean to you today?  Let’s see.

  1.  When God reveals something to us about our future, we should consider the following about the revelation.  God is in eternity and we are in time.  Since God is eternal, He operates outside of time and is therefore not confined by it.  When God looks at us, He sees the entirety of our lives, from beginning to end.  So when He reveals something to us that has not happened yet in our lives (in time), He is revealing something that, in His mind, is already done.  He knows what you will do before you do it.  He knows what you will say before you say it.  He knows what you will think before you think it.  So, from God’s perspective it’s already done.  It is PAST to Him, although it is clearly FUTURE to you.  You can live your life in pursuit of it, because the revelation came from a completely credible source.

  1.  Ecc 3:11 teaches us that man cannot discover, comprehend or grasp what God has done — meaning, what He has already done, His overall plan, from beginning to the end.  But what God does, is He reveals it to us.  He literally plants eternity in our hearts, in time.  This revelation then creates a divinely implanted sense of purpose that the Bible says, “nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God.”  Once God gives you a glimpse of what He has called you to do, if you truly believe and receive it in your heart, you will NEVER be satisfied until you become what you saw!

  1.  Once you have divine revelation concerning your future, and what God has called you to do, your goal must be to experience what God revealed.  Don’t get so satisfied with the glimpse of what God revealed to you, that you fail to pursue the experience of it.  The glimpse was supposed to serve as a ‘teaser’, almost like a commercial of your future, but God never designed you to be satisfied with the glimpse.  God wants you to pursue the actual experience.  On a personal level, there are many things God has revealed to me, that are FUTURE to me and PAST to Him, that I will not be satisfied until I experience in the earth.  I refuse to die with God’s best still inside of me.  I refuse to die with untapped potential.  I am determined to live my life in such a way that I will arrive at God’s overall expected END for me… dying empty!

  1.  Once God’s purpose is planted in our hearts, we are to live our lives in pursuit of it and we should never be satisfied until we become what we saw.  Once we do, however, God reveals the next glimpse and we start the process all over again, for the next season and stage of our life.  This is how we incrementally become the men/women we are called to be!

  1.  God is looking for you to live out your divine purpose through a series of experiences and encounters with Him.  Going to church should not be the entire experience.  While you can, and should, experience God in church, church is where you go to learn about the God who created you and called you to His purpose.  Learning about God should not be the goal.  Experiencing God on a daily basis should be the goal.  What good is receiving revelation from God, if you are not going to pursue the experience of what is revealed?

I will stop here for today.  I have more to say about this.

Closing Confession:  Father, this is a year of Great Victory for me.  I say this with confidence, because I am determined to experience the life I was born to live.  You made plans for me before the world began.  You sent me into the earth at just the right time.  You reveal things to me, that are FUTURE to me, but actually PAST to You!  And I now live my life in pursuit of experiencing what I saw!  I pursue every experience by faith, knowing that You want to bless me because You love and because You see me the same way You saw Jesus while He was in the earth.  As Jesus is, so am I, in this world!  I declare this by faith.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
