As Jesus Is (Pt. 38)

by Rick

Today we continue our series, “As Jesus Is”, under the banner of the overall series for the year,  “Supernatural Manifestation.”  We have been looking at 1 John 4:16,17 for over a month now.  Last week we started looking at John 17 to go along with it.  Let’s go back to both passages again this morning.

The Apostle John said:

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

(1 John 4:16, 17 KJV)

The True Lord’s Prayer (John 17:20-23)

“I pray not only for these followers but also for those who will believe in me because of their teaching.  Father, I pray that all who believe in me can be one. You are in me and I am in you. I pray that they can also be one in us. Then the world will believe that you sent me.  I have given them the glory that you gave me. I gave them this glory so that they can be one, just as you and I are one.  I will be in them, and you will be in me. So they will be completely one. Then the world will know that you sent me and that you loved them just as you loved me.”

I will focus in on the words: “Then the world will believe that you sent me.”

So what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

1.  Open your heart to all Jesus prayed for you to experience.

a)  Jesus prayed for us to to be ONE with the Father, just like He was ONE with the Father.  He expects us to live (in this world), just like He lived (in this world).

b)  Jesus expected us to live a supernatural life, in this world, because God lives inside of us, just like He lived inside of Him.

2.  Realize that your life is supposed to living proof of Jesus’ life.

a)  Jesus said that when we get to the point where we are ONE with the Father, like He was ONE with the Father, then people would believe that He was sent of God.

b)  Our lives are supposed to be proof that Jesus was the Son of God.

c)  Our lives are supposed to testify of God’s supernatural power and existence.

d)  Our lives should be proof that heaven is real.  This is why it is critically important that we see ourselves as ONE with God; as Jesus is, in this world!

3.  Open your heart to God’s love.

a)  Jesus prayed for us to know that the Father loves us the same way He loved Jesus.  Receiving this truth changes you from the inside out.

b)  The Father loves us with the very same love that He loved His own Son with.  Open your heart to this reality.

c)  God loves you NO less than He loved Jesus.  Embracing this love is critical, because knowing God loves you is the key the opens the door to the supernatural.

I will talk more about this next week.

Closing Confession:  Father, this is a year of Great Victory for me.  I don’t say this because of me.  I say this because You live IN me.  I am ONE with You.  You are ONE with me.  You love me with an everlasting love.  You love me the SAME WAY You loved Your own son, Jesus.  You love me NO LESS than You loved Jesus.  I believe and receive Your love.  Your love opens the door to the supernatural.  People will know that Jesus is real, because they will see Him, and experience Him, IN ME!  As Jesus is, so am I, in this world!  I declare this by faith.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

This is Today’s Word!  Apply it and Prosper.
