It’s Already Done (Pt. 13)

by Rick

Today we continue our new series entitled, “It’s already done!”, under the banner of the overall series for the year,  “Supernatural Manifestation.”  A couple of weeks ago I introduced you to the following passage.  Let’s go back to it today.

In the opening paragraph of the Apostle Peter’s second letter, he said:

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

(2 Peter 1:1-4)

Today I will focus in on this statement: “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness.”

So what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

1.  Life and godliness.

a)  Peter tells us that God has already given us all things that pertain to life and godliness.  This means we already have everything that pertains to living the life we were born to live in this world, and everything required to walk in a level of godliness that properly represents God along the way.

b)  Everything you need to maximize your purpose and potential in life, and everything you need to live godly as you do it, has been provided to you.  God has already placed it inside of you.

c)  Everything you consider to be natural to this world (every earthly requirement) and everything that is natural to God’s world (every spiritual and heavenly blessing) has already been given to you.  Natural or spiritual, earthly or heavenly, every requirement you will ever need to accomplish what God sent you to this earth to accomplish is already inside of you. d)  God considered all the earthly requirements and desires of this world and all the spiritual requirements and desires of His world, and in His infinite wisdom, He equipped us with them all.  Everything we need for life and everything we need for godliness is already inside of us.

2.   You already have it.

a)  God’s instruction is equal to His injection.  God will never instruct you to do something that He has not already injected you with.  Because it would be unrighteous of God, as a heavenly Father, to expect you to do something He has not already equipped you to do.  Whatever God expects you to do, He equips you to do; and whatever He equips you to do, He expects you to do.  So, if God is telling you to do it, it is because you already have it in you.

b)  God will only tell you to do what He has already given you the grace to accomplish.  Don’t ask God for the grace to do it, as if you don’t already have it.  No, pray the prayer of faith that will tap into the power God has already placed IN you to do what He is leading you to do.

3.  You must give birth to what God has placed IN you!

a)  God impregnates us with all we need to become the men/women we are called to be.  And He then calls us into our destiny, knowing we will “give birth” to what is inside of us, as we go!

b)  When Gideon encountered God he was a scared farmer.  But God had placed a military commander INSIDE of Gideon.  As Gideon went, a champion was born out of coward.

c)  When Abraham encountered God he was a 75. year old with no children.  God had placed a Father of many nations INSIDE of him.  As Abraham went, his destiny was birthed-out from within.

d)  When Peter encountered God he was a brash fisherman.  God had placed an Apostle INSIDE of him.  As he went, Simon the Fisherman gave birth to Peter the Apostle.

e)  When Paul encountered God he was a zealous terrorist against Christianity.  God had placed a Christ-like leader INSIDE of him.  As he went, Saul of Tarsus gave birth to the Apostle Paul.

f)  When you encountered God I am sure you were as lost as I was.  But like me, God had already placed your future INSIDE of you.  You job is to give birth to all God has placed in you, and you will give birth AS YOU GO!  The life of faith is a journey of discovery and deployment.  You discover who you are and you then deploy into your destiny!

Closing Confession:  Father, this is a year of Great Victory for me.  Everything I need has already been provided.  All I need for life and all I need for godliness is already IN me!  As I go — as I live the life of faith, as I discover and deploy into what I discover — I give birth to what You placed IN me!  And by Your grace, I change the world!  I declare this by faith.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
