When All You Have Left Is WHEN!

by Rick

This morning I continue our series entitled, “Standing on a Word from God.”  This is Part 10.  We have been looking at the life of Abraham.  Let’s go back to his story today. I want to look at something we dealt with in the last message.

(Gen 17:21 CEV)

“But your son Isaac will be born about this time next year, and the promise I am making to you and your family will be for him and his descendants forever.”

So what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

1. Expanding your capacity to believe God is critical.

a)  Before God could make Abraham and Sarah the parents of many nations, he had to get them to BELIEVE Him first.  God will work with you, to help you expand your capacity to believe Him. Because once you can believe it, the “it” is now possible for you (Mark 9:23).

b)  If you can’t SEE IT, you can’t HAVE IT!  God works with you to SEE IT before He manifests it.  Because if God gives it to you before you have a revelation of what ot do with it, what was supposed to be a BLESSING can actually wind up being a BURDEN.

c)  At night God took Abraham outside and told him to look UP at the stars.  He was going to have any many children as the stars in the sky. During the day God told Abraham to look down at the sand.  He was going to have as many children as the grains of sand around the world. What was God doing? He was helping Abraham expand his capacity to believe.  You must be able to SEE yourself as the man/woman you were called to be. You will never walk in a revelation you cannot see. You have to SEE IT first!

d)  God will use your imagination.  He will paint a picture for you, upon the canvas of your mind, so you can see yourself walking in the assignment you were born to walk in.

2.  Once the “WHAT” is settled, you must then hold on until the “WHEN” is manifested.

a)  After Abraham was able to SEE himself fathering nations, it then became a waiting game.  Once the issue was no longer Abraham’s faith, the only issue left was God’s timing. This is the hard part (at least for me).

b)  In my experience, when God is attempting to help me expand my capacity to believe Him for something He planned to do in my life, He speaks to me all the time about it.  He will give me dreams. He will send people to me to drop hints. He will speak to me through random situations. He will do whatever is required for me to open my heart to His dream.  But when I finally get it, when my heart is open and my faith is activated, it’s like God stops speaking to me about it. At that point, He already helped me to believe and now I must wait on His timing.  This is the hardest part for me. But during this time, you must keep believing and NEVER GIVE UP on what God said. It is only a matter of time!

c)  God will say whatever He needs to say to you to get you to believe.  But once you do, and once your faith switch is in the “ON” position, God will often go silent until it is time to manifest the dream.  In that time of silence God expects you to HOLD ON to what He last said. You must keep believing to see what He said come to pass.

d)  After 24 years of waiting, God finally said the words Abraham was waiting to hear.  He said, “Your son Isaac will be born about this time next year.”  If you hold on long enough, you will get the confirmation you have been waiting for.  More importantly, you will get the manifestation that follows!

e)  If you are at the point where you truly believe what God said, and for you it is no longer a matter of “WHAT” and only a matter of “WHEN?,” then hold on.  Your day will come like it came for Abraham. And when it finally happens, you will laugh (in awe of God’s goodness) like Abraham and Sarah laughed!

Closing Confession:

Father, this is a season of expectation for me.  I live in expectation of manifestation. For me it is no longer a matter of “WHAT!”  I believe You. I opened my heart to Your dream. I can see it in my imagination. I can see myself walking in it.  For me it is now simply a matter of “WHEN?” And I declare that I will not give up before my breakthrough. I will HOLD ON long enough to SEE what You SAID come to pass in my life!  I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

This is Today’s Word.  Apply it and prosper!
