The Gospel of the Kingdom

by Rick

Today we continue our new series entitled, “Heaven on Earth,” by teaching on God’s Kingdom.

The reason I am taking so much time taching on the Kingdom of God and how it is God’s will that we manifest heaven on the earth, is because this is the message Jesus preached and it is how He lived.  Everywhere Jesus went He preached the message of God’s Kingdom. Every miracle Jesus performed was a manifestation of heaven on earth.

I am surprised by the feedback I am getting from these messages.  It’s like people had not realized that Jesus’ message was a message about God’s Kingdom reality.  Even if we go back to Matthew 10 (a passage we looked at for the last few messages), we will see that Jesus did not only send the disciples out to perform miracles, but He told them what to say.  Jesus said, “As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven  is at hand.” (Mat 10:7).

This message is all throughout Jesus’ ministry.  To further drive home the point, I want us to look at a few scriptures.  These are 10 scriptures, but believe me, I could have highlighted more. Here they are:

Luke 4:43
“….I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.”

Luke 16:16
“The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached…”

Luke 9:11
“… and He received them [multitudes] and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing.”

Matthew 4:23
“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.”

Matthew 4:17
“From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Matthew 6:33
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Luke 12:32
“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

Matt. 23:13
“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.”

Luke 8:1
“Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God…”

Matthew 24:14
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

So what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

1.  The message of the Kingdom is the message Jesus preached.  We should not attempt to preach better than Jesus. If this is the message He preached, it should be the message we preach.  And to further drive home the importance, this is the message that must go out throughout ALL THE WORLD before the end will come (Mat 24:14).

2.  Jesus put the HIGHEST priority on teaching, preaching & demonstrating the Kingdom of God.  His priority should be our priority every day.

3.  If the message we preach is not about the Kingdom, or if it is not coming from Kingdom perspective, then it is not the message Jesus told us to preach and it will not be endorsed by heaven!

4.  The reason I keep driving home the message of the Kingdom is because I want it to get IN you and for it to then EXPAND throughout every aspect of your life.  In Luke 17:20,21 Jesus said the Kingdom was already IN some of the people He was talking to and He said the Kingdom was EXPANDING within them. In Mat 13:33 Jesus gave us a good picture of what that EXPANSION looks like.  He gave a parable and said, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast into about sixty pounds of flour, the yeast permeated throughout every part of the dough and made it rise.”  (Mat 13:33).  I want you to picture the yeast working throughout the dough and then imagine the Kingdom working and EXPANDING INSIDE of you the same way.

Declaration of Faith:

Father, it is Your good pleasure to give Your children The Kingdom.  You have placed me IN Your Kingdom and You have placed Your Kingdom IN me.  I am Kingdom minded. I live Kingdom focused. I am a citizen heaven. I was born native to this world.  But I was Born-Again and I am now native to Your world. I am on this planet to represent You and Your Kingdom reality every day of my life.  You live IN me and You work THROUGH me for all the world to see. I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

This is Today’s Word.  Apply it and prosper!
