You Won’t Always Know What To Do!

by Rick

Today we continue our new series entitled, “Press through it!

A few days ago I introduced you to the following passage.  Let’s go back to it today.

We have this treasure from God, but we are only like clay jars that hold the treasure. This is to show that the amazing power we have is from God, not from us. We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We often don’t know what to do, but we don’t give up. We are persecuted, but God does not leave us. We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed. So we constantly experience the death of Jesus in our own bodies, but this is so that the life of Jesus can also be seen in our bodies. We are alive, but for Jesus we are always in danger of death, so that the life of Jesus can be seen in our bodies that die.”

??(2 Corinthians? ?4:7-11? ?ERV??)

Today I want highlight the following statement again: “We often don’t know what to do, but we don’t give up.”  The truth is, if you walk with God in earnest and you attempt to live a life of faith, you are going to be in situations where you don’t know what to do.  Between the enormity of God’s assignment for your life and the strength of satan’s opposition, you will sometimes find yourself searching for answers. This is why you have to get comfortable with a certain level of discomfort.  If not, you will never maximize your purpose and potential while you are in the land of the living.

So what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

1.  You know you are truly living by faith when believing and attempting the humanly impossible seems normal.  You know your mind is renewed when the supernatural seems logical. But just know that when you live this way, when you are constantly allowing God to draw you beyond the limits of your humanity, there will be times when you don’t know what to do.  During this times, you must trust God, maintain your peace, and keep going.

2.  The Bible says, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1 NIV).  Faith is having the ability to believe God and to live with confidence that what He revealed shall come to pass, even when you cannot validate what God said with your human senses.  Living this way is uncomfortable. Your flesh would much rather you just stick to things that make sense in the earth; things that can validated with your physical senses. But if you are going to live by faith you must get comfortable with the uncomfortable, and maintain your peace  even when you don’t know what to do.

3.  There is a level of mystery to walking with God.  If you are the type of person who wants all the answers up front, before you make a decision, then you are going to have a hard time walking with God.  God will not give you all the answers up front. If He did, you would not require faith. Faith is required because God is not going to tell you everything when you want to know it.  There will be times when you have NO CLUE what to do. In those times our text teaches us NOT to give up and to simply trust God. When it is all said and done, God’s plans will prevail and they will be good.

4.  When I don’t know what to do and I don’t have a clue what God is up to, I can find peace in knowing that God loves me.  Since I know God loves me, I know He has my best in interest at heart, so while I may not know what He is doing, I know whatever it is, IT IS GOOD!  Knowing this, I refuse to give up and I develop the courage to keep going.

5.  True faith requires a departure from the safety of human possibility.  God is calling you into His best. To experience it you must have the courage to leave the confines and the comfort of your normal routine.  You must break away from the safety found in doing things you already know how to do. God is calling you into a NEW THING. Do you have the courage to LET GO of your NOW so you can LAY HOLD of your NEXT?

6.  To experience all of what God has called you to accomplish in the earth you are going to have to get comfortable with the uncertain.  When you break away from the certainty of what you know, you open yourself up to the certainty of what God planned!

Declaration of Faith:

Father, I thank You for calling me to a life of faith.  I am the just. I live by faith. I live by every Word You reveal to me.  I base my decisions on what You say, even when I cannot validate what You said with my physical senses.  I live beyond the natural. The supernatural is now natural to me. I am comfortable with a certain level of discomfort and mystery.  When I don’t know what to do, I keep my eyes on You! I trust You, even when I don’t know what is going on. In the end, I know it shall be GOOD!  I declare this by faith.  In Jesus’ name. Amen.

This is Today’s Word.  Apply it and prosper!
