What to Do With What God Said To You

by Rick

Today we continue to teach on our overall theme for the year: “GREAT FREEDOM.”  We have been looking at 2 Corinthians 4:13 for days.  Let’s go back to it today.

(2 Corinthians 4:13 NKJV)

And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak.

We have been looking at the amazing story of the virgin Mary.  Let’s go back to this story again today. In this message, I will discuss what we should do with the Word God speaks over us.

So what does this mean for you today?  A few things.

1.  The first step is understanding.

a)  Understanding is critical.  We must be clear about what God is saying to us.  God can speak to us in a myriad of ways. He can speak to you through His written Word.  He can do so by the Holy Spirit. He can give you a dream while you are sleeping or an open vision while you are awake.  He can send others to you, to reveal His plans prophetically. Whatever the case, you must get to the point where you understand what God said to you.  Solomon said, “In all your getting, get an understanding.” (Proverbs 4:7).

b)  Satan does not want you to have an understanding.  Why? Because you will never maximize what you do not understand.  So satan loves it when you lack spiritual understanding.

In the parable of the sower, Jesus said, “When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart.” (Matthew 13:19).  Mark’s account says, “Satan comes immediately and takes away the Word that was sown in their hearts.” (Mark 4:15).

Satan is not just coming.  The text says that he comes IMMEDIATELY to take away the Word that was sown in our hearts.  Why? Because satan knows that God’s Word contains God’s power to perform it. If we can ever unlock the power contained in the Word of God, our lives will be changed.  This is why understanding is so important. If you don’t understand it, you won’t do anything with it, and the enemy can take it. But if you understand what God is saying to you, then NO ONE can take it from you!

c)  The goal is for the Word of God to produce in your life.  But you cannot apply a Word you do not understand. So don’t just read or hear the Word.  Ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding. Once you have an understanding of what God is saying to you, you can put that Word into practice, you can walk it out, and you can experience a harvest from it.  That should be your goal daily. The Word works if you work the Word!

 2.  After we understand what God is saying to us, we must meditate and meditate on it.

a)  Believing is seeing.  It is seeing what God has said to you in His Word or revealed to you by His Spirit.  Your job is to SEE IT and BELIEVE IT. If you meditate/medicate it long enough, you will ACCEPT IT as already done your heart!

b)  To truly believe a Word from God, you must consider it, ponder it, think about it, meditate it, and medicate on it, until what you believe is more real to you than what you see every day!

c)  You have to literally SEE yourself walking in God’s assignment.  You have to SEE IT and what you SEE must become real to you. If you can’t SEE IT, you won’t have it!  Your legs will never take you where your heart has never been!

d)  Abraham had to see himself as a father of many nations before God gave him Isaac.  David had to see himself as a king before God gave him the throne. Gideon had to see himself as a mighty man of valor before God gave him the victory.  Mary had to see herself as a mother before God gave her the baby. You have to SEE IT. In order to truly see it, you are going to have to slow down, turn the TV off, maybe turn over the plate (to fast), and spend time thinking about, considering, pondering, meditating and medicating on what God said!  Once you can SEE IT, it is only a matter of time before it God brings it to pass in your life!

e)  Once you receive the Word God speaks over you, and you truly believe it in your heart, you will become pregnant with whatever God said!  You will be walking around, pregnant with purpose, ready to give birth!

3.  Speak words of faith from a believing heart.

a)  Faith is voice-activated.  Seeing it first is required.  Believing it in your heart is necessary.  But when you get to the point where you can SAY IT, out loud, in front of others, at the risk of looking foolish, you know you are in-faith!

b)  If you are struggling in your health, career, marriage, relationships, finances, or any other area, it could be because you have failed to receive Word from God in that area.  Seek God. Read His Word. Spend time with His Spirit. He will speak. As he does, SEE what He said. BELIEVE it in your heart. Meditate on it day and night. And then muster up the courage to SAY what you SAW!  Keep SAYING what God said until you SEE what God said in this world!

That’s enough for today.

Declaration of Faith

Father, Your Son, my Lord, Jesus the Christ, said that man shall not live by bread only.  We live by every Word that proceeds from out of Your mouth. I need You to speak to me. I crave Your Words more than earthly food.  You are my Father. I hear Your voice and I live by every Word. When You speak, I am quick to RECEIVE IT. I spend time praying over it so I can SEE IT.  I meditate and medicate on the Word long enough to BELIEVE IT. And then I muster up the courage to SAY IT! I SAY what You SAID and I keep saying it until I SEE what You SAID in this world!  This is how I live! I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

This is Today’s Word.  Apply it and prosper!
