The Woman With The Issue of Blood (Part 3) – YOU ARE JESUS In The Story!

by Rick

Read Mark 5:23-34

This morning we continue our series entitled, “The Year of Supernatural Manifestation”, with our mini-series on “The Miracles of Jesus”.  For the last couple of days we looked at the story of the woman with the issue of blood.  We have gleaned several things from her faith and I trust they were a blessing to you.

This morning we flip the story around.  Most believers read a story like this and they immediately identify with the person coming to Jesus.  But Jesus did not strip Himself of His limitless power in heaven, resign Himself to operating in a human body, die on the cross to pay for what Adam did in the Garden of Eden, and then rise from the dead, just so we could always be the people needing a breakthrough.  NO!  Jesus came as the incarnation of God, so that we would be the continuation of His incarnation.  We are supposed to be JUST LIKE JESUS in this world.

So, go back to the story of the woman with the issue of blood, and this time, instead of seeing yourself as the woman, SEE YOURSELF AS JESUS in the story!  You are the one people are supposed to come to when they need a breakthrough.  You are the one people should be looking for when they have an issue this world cannot resolve.  You are the one with the answers!  You are the one with the power!  Why?  Because God Himself, in the person of the Holy Spirit, lives IN you!

So what does this mean to you today?  A few things:

1.  Powerful things happen when you take on the mind of Christ.

a)  Paul said, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”  Paul then went on to explain what “mind” he was talking about.  He explained how Jesus saw Himself like the Father in every way.  Jesus did not think that His being equal with God was something to use for his own benefit.  He used it for the benefit of this present world.  This is how you and I are supposed to live.

b)  When you take on the same mindset Jesus had, you know God is IN you and His presence makes YOU the answer to the issues of this present world.  You don’t see any challenge as insurmountable, because God Himself lives IN you!

2.  The supernatural is released when you have the audacity to embrace it.

a)  In Acts 5 we see Jesus’ disciples operating JUST LIKE HIM in this world.  A group of men who were once clueless, were operating like the supernatural Jesus.  God used them to perform many miracles, signs and wonders.   People brought those who were sick into the streets and put them on beds and mats on the road where they knew the disciples were going to pass.  They did this hoping that Peter’s shadow might fall on them as he walked by.  Peter’s shadow was healing people.  Think about that for a moment.  This was not Jesus.  This was Peter.  And guess what?  It can be YOU!

b)  In Acts 19 God used Paul, a man who was previously persecuting the church, to perform many miracles, signs and wonders.  The anointing on Paul’s life was so heavy that people carried away handkerchiefs and clothes that Paul had used and put them on those who were sick or demon possessed.  The sick were healed and the demon possessed were delivered, simply by receiving a touch from a handkerchief that belonged to Paul.  Guess what?  What God did through Paul He can do through you!

3.  You will never operate in the supernatural until you can see yourself doing it.

a)  If you want God to perform the supernatural through you, you must keep the the focus on God and not you.  The power is from God, not from you!  As long as you make your life about Him, there is no limit to what He can perform through you.

b)  Paul taught us (see 2 Cor 4) that God put His treasure (His Spirit)  in earthen vessels (us).  He did this so that the “all-surpassing power” would be from Him and not from us.  We are the container, He is the content.  We are the carrier, but He is the character (living in us).  There is no limit to what He can do, but we must open our heart up to the possibility of the impossible!

Closing Confession:  Father, this is a year of Great Victory for me.  This year I will experience supernatural manifestation like never before!  Because my heart is open to it.  I believe the impossible IS possible for me.  I believe the supernatural IS natural to me.  Not because of my power, but because of Your supernatural presence.  I am the container, You are the content.  I take You everywhere I go.  And I take on Your mindset.  I declare, as Jesus is, so am I, in this world.  I am ready Father for Your power to be released through me for all the world to see!  I declare this by faith.  In Jesus’ name, amen!

This is Today’s Word!  Apply it and prosper!
