Two Realms

by Rick

Today we continue our series entitled, “Back to the Bible,” with Part 35.  We have been looking at Psalm 119.  Let’s continue to walk through this amazing psalm.  Today we will look at verses 109, 110 and 112 from The Passion Bible Translation.

David said:

(v.109)  Even though my life hangs in the balance, I’ll keep following what you’ve taught me, no matter what.

(v.110)  The ungodly have done their best to throw me off track, but I’ll not deviate from what you’ve told me to do.

(v.112)  I have determined in my heart to obey whatever you say, fully and forever!

So what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

1. Once you are Born-Again you are living in two realms at the same time.

a)  In John 17 Jesus prayed a prayer for us.  In His prayer, Jesus said that He did not want the Father to take us OUT OF the world, but that we would glorify the Father IN IT.  Just like Jesus was IN the world, but not OF the world, Jesus said we were the same. Every Born-Again believer is IN this world, but not OF it.  We are called to live as Ambassadors of Heaven, assigned to the earth. The Word of God, then, becomes absolutely critical to us. Because an Ambassador does not the right to present his/her ideas.  An Ambassador must represent his/her home nation in the host nation. The Ambassador must communicate the desires of his/her home leader to the leadership and citizens that are hosting them. This is where the Bible comes in.  Heaven is our home. We are called to represent heaven down here, in the earth. And if we are ever confused about what to do or what to say, we can read the Bible. The Bible gives us clear instructions on how we are to represent heaven in the earth.

b)  The reason why God blesses us freely and richly, is because He wants our lives to be a representation of heaven on earth.  When people look at us, they are supposed to see what heaven is going to be like.

c)  From the moment you are Born-Again you are living in two realms at the same time.  You are in the earth, but you are also (at the same time), seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus.  So as you live your post-salvation life, the Father expects you to bring the two worlds together. When you pray you are supposed to bring heaven to the earth.  God gave you the faith required to bring heaven down. You are supposed to be an agent of supernatural change. Through your life heaven and earth are supposed to converge.  This is how God uses you to draw the lost to Him.

2.  Whenever there is a conflict between God’s ways and the ways of this world, you must be determined to pick God’s ways every time!

a)  The reason why satan fights against you so hard, is because he knows that you have the power (faith) to activate heaven on earth.  He is not truly fighting against you. He could care less about you. He is fighting against the power that can be released through your life.  Which is why he does all he can to get you frustrated. When you are frustrated, you don’t live by faith. If you don’t live by faith, you won’t release any power.  Said another way, satan cannot stop God, nor can He stop God from flowing through you when you activate your faith. But if he can get you frustrated, you will not activate your faith and you will fail to be a conduit of God’s power.  At this point, satan did not truly stop you. You stopped yourself, because you allowed him to get you frustrated. Don’t let this happen to you.

b)  Don’t ever let people frustrate you to the point where you stop living by faith.  David said, “The ungodly have done their best to throw me off track, but I’ll not deviate from what you’ve told me to do.” (Ps 119:110 TPT)

c)  David knew opposition was going to come, he knew life was not always going to be easy, but he said, “I’ll keep following what you’ve taught me, no matter what!” (Ps 119:109 TPT)

d)  Living by faith is a choice.  It’s really that simple. David said, “I have determined in my heart to obey whatever you say, fully and forever!” (Ps 119:112 TPT).  Can you say the same?

Closing Confession:

Father, this is a season of expectation for me.  I have decided to walk and live by faith. My choice is made.  Come what may, I will never stop following You, Father. I will do what You lead me to do and say what You tell me to say.  I am an agent of supernatural change. I live in two realms, heaven and earth, at the same time. And I release my faith daily to bring heaven down.  Your Kingdom has come. Your will shall be done. It’s going to happen ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN, through me! My life brings the two realms together!  I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

This is Today’s Word.  Apply it and prosper!
