God Will Reassure You

by Rick

Today we continue our series entitled “Destiny’s Child – You Are Not a Mistake!”  We have looked at Jeremiah’s call for the past few days.  I want us to back back to it today.

(Jeremiah 1:5-9 NKJV)

5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

6 Then said I: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”

7 But the Lord said to me:

“Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you,

And whatever I command you, you shall speak.

8  Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.

9 Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.”

Yesterday I taught you about the fact that God will address your concerns.  Today I will flow in the same vein.  God will assure you that He is committed to you for HIS PURPOSE to come to pass!

So what does this mean for you today?  A few things.

1.  God calls you to do things that, at first, may scare you out of your mind.

God calls you beyond your comfort zone.  Jeremiah was afraid of public speaking, he thought he was too young, he did not know what he was going to say when he got in front of people, and he was not sure how the people were going to receive him.  God gave him reassurance for all these things.

— If Jeremiah was called to speak to certain people, he had no idea how he was going to find the people he was going to speak to.  God said, “You are going to go where I send you and you will then say what I tell you to say when you get there.”  The point is that Jeremiah did not need to know WHERE he was going, as long as he knew WHO he was following (or being led by).

— Jeremiah was not comfortable speaking in front of people and it is clear that he was afraid of looking at people who were looking at him.  This is a common fear for many.  God said, “Don’t be afraid of their faces.  I am with you and I will deliver you.”  God’s presence brings with it His power and His presence.  When you know God is with you and for you, you have nothing to fear.

— God had to reassure Jeremiah and there will be times when He will lovingly reassure you.

— Once you digest, process, and internalize the enormity of what God has called you to do, from the foundations of the world, it is easy to feel unqualified, unprepared, and flat-out scared.  But we serve a God who loves you enough to reassure you.  He will reassure you of His love, His presence, and His commitment to the plans He made for you before you were born.  Since God is with you and He is committed to you, you have nothing to fear!

2.  Stop factoring-IN what God already factored-OUT.

Jeremiah made a common mistake.  Once he received the revelation of what God called him to do, he started making excuses.  He began to tell God why he was unqualified and not capable of doing what God was commanding.  Like many, he gave God a laundry list of reasons why he could not do it.  There are many flaws with this logic:

— God already the limits of your humanity when He called you and He called you anyway.

— God is not concerned with what you think you can or cannot do, in your power, because he never called you based on your power.  He called you based on HIS!

— When you start giving God a bunch of reasons why you can’t do what He is calling you to do, you are forgetting that God already knew all your flaws before He called you.

—  God factored OUT your limits when He factored IN His grace.  Once you add God’s grace to the equation, the result is always the same: “I can do all things through Christ, who gives me the strength to do what I could never do without Him!” (Philippians 4:13).

— God’s grace is His super upon your natural.  Stop telling God why you can’t do something.  If He is telling you to do it, then it is obvious that He has given you the grace for it!

— If you keeping factoring IN what God has already factored OUT, you might mess around and put a “NO” where God put a “YES.”  If you do this, you are going to get to heaven, only to realize that you missed out on God’s best because you were too focused on your humanity.

— You are a human conduit of the divine.  You are walking around with God on the inside of you.  If you focus too much on the human part of you, you will never do what God called you to do, because God’s call always exceeds what you can do without Him.  You must rely on the GOD IN YOU to do what God has called you to do!

— When your humanity is screaming at you, telling you that you can’t, your divinity (the Holy Spirit in you), will reassure you that HE CAN, through you!

That’s enough for today.

Declaration of Faith

Father, this is a season of LEVELING UP for me!  To LEVEL UP, I must open my heart to You and Your amazing grace.  You call me to do things I cannot do without You.  You call me to fund projects I don’t have the money for, to operate on levels I am not qualified for, and to release power I [in my humanity] do not have.  Therefore, to do what You have called me to do, I must rely on You and Your grace.  Thank You, Father, for reassuring me that I CAN and that YOU WILL, through me, for Your glory.  Since You live in me and my life is all about You, I boldly declare: GREATER IS COMING FOR ME!  I declare this by faith.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

This is Today’s Word!  Apply it and Prosper.
