God’s Grace & Our Faith (Part 63): Already Done (Part 1)

by Rick

Good morning; I am back from my break. I trust you enjoyed the “flashback” messages I shared with you. I am ready to get back to daily LIVE messages. The break was amazing! THANK YOU to all who expressed birthday wishes for Isabella and me. We truly appreciate it.

Today we will continue our series entitled “God’s Grace & Our Faith.” We are looking at The Law given under Moses vs. the Grace provided by Jesus. Our primary scriptures are John 1:14 & 17.

(John 1:14 New International Version)

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

(John 1:17 New International Version)

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

I trust you have been enjoying this series. I will start a series within the series today with messages about the fact that in God’s eyes, what God promised you is ALREADY DONE!  In this series, I will teach you about the grace you tap into when you are doing what God has called you to do. To be clear, when I teach you about “doing” in this series, it will NOT be with an emphasis on “doing to earn” anything from God or “doing to perform.” Once you understand God’s grace and our faith, you know you are not “doing” to get God to move. You do what you do because you believe God has already moved.  You do what you do because you believe IT’S ALREADY DONE!

I have been walking with God for 27 years, and I have learned that a great many believers are stuck in the prison of misunderstanding God’s sovereignty. They take sovereignty to mean that they can sit around and wait for God to do what He is going to do because He is sovereign.  But sovereignty is not a license for laziness.

When a preacher like me says, “It’s Already Done,” many are left confused about what they must do. In one sense, it IS already done.  In another sense, you are called to DO because of what God already DID. My assignment is to demystify this process.  I will teach you about God’s sovereignty and what your part is in God’s provision.

I will take my time as we go through this series. For this morning, I will share just a few opening thoughts.

So what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

1.  God has a part, and we have a part.

— God is God, and He does God-type of stuff. Many believers sit around waiting on God to do the things He has already graced THEM to do. These people will be waiting a long time.

— If God has called you to do something and He has already given you the grace to do it, then you should be busy walking out your divine assignment. Don’t expect God to do what He already equipped, enabled, and empowered you to do.

2.  God’s plan for your life is already blessed.

— Many Christians come up with their own plans (aka, selfish desires), present those plans to God, and ask God to bless them. Living this way will be “hit and miss” at best because God already made plans for you.

— God is only going to bless what He planned. The Hebrew Word for bless is “barak.” The Hebrew word for create or manifest is “barah.” I have learned that God only baraks what He barahs, which means that God only blesses what He creates. So if you have been struggling and you are tired of failing over and over again, you might be doing something God did not tell you to do. This series is about achieving success God’s way, by His grace, for His glory!

— Instead of doing something and then asking God to bless it, why not find out what God already planned and do that? At that point, you don’t have to ask God to bless it. If God planned it, it’s already blessed.

— Walking in God’s best requires us to stop asking God to put a “YES” on our plans and to start putting a “YES” on His!

— We can’t make God bless something He did not already plan to do in our lives. So prayer is not about asking for your selfish desires.  Prayer is about aligning with God’s plans and praying back to God the prayers He has already prayed over us.

3.  While God’s blessing is not performance-based, this does not mean you do NOTHING!

— You don’t perform and expect God to move because you moved. You are not earning God’s blessing. You are called to discern what He already did, and then DO THAT!

— You are called to move where God already moved, to DO because God already did, and to seek to experience what He already planned. In this way, you are continually dying to self, dying to sin, and dying to selfish desires. The more you do this, the more you align with God and His plans and purposes for your life.  Once you start living this way, you will live #TheGraceLife because God’s grace will flow TO you and THROUGH you as you become a CONDUIT of His Kingdom on this planet. That’s the goal.

— You have to perform, meaning that you had to “DO” things. But you are not performing to get God to move. You are performing because He already moved.  Your action is a response to your understanding of God’s predestination. You are simply seeking to move in the direction that He already planned for your life!

— When God reveals to you what He already planned, your job is to seek to discern both His desire and His timing. When the timing is right, you must launch out, in faith, to get what God has already given you. If you don’t launch out, if you don’t provide the faith, if you don’t do your part, you will miss out on God’s best, and it won’t be God’s fault.

— Faith is an action word. It’s just that your action must be in alignment with God’s timing. When it is the right time, and you start doing the right things (things that align with what God already planned for this season), you will tap into God’s grace, and the results will be supernatural.  You will experience Godly success!

That’s enough for today. I hope you are getting excited about this series.

Declaration of Faith

Father, I thank You for making plans for me before the world began. As I walk with You, You reveal Your plans to me by Your Spirit.

Because I walk with the Holy Spirit, I declare that I know who I am IN YOU, I know what You have called me to do, and I am ready to start doing it.

I don’t DO to get You to move. I don’t DO to attempt to force Your hand. I don’t command You; You command me! I am moving because You have already moved. I am DOING because, for You, it’s already done.

I launch out in faith because the grace is already there for me to experience Your best. You provide the grace, and I provide the faith. This is how I lay hold of what You already planned.

I enter into this day ready to experience the manifestation of Your finished work in my life! Living this way, I know GREATER IS COMING FOR ME! I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

This is Today’s Word! Apply it and Prosper.
