The Worship Factor
Intro:
- There are many factors/facets to our walk with God.
- We are mandated to live by faith (Hab 2:4, Rom 1:17, Gal 3:11, & Heb 10:38).
- And we know that without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb 11:6).
- Faith is a factor, but not the only factor, in living a life that is pleasing to God.
(Mark 11:22 KJV) And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
- He did not say, “Have faith in your faith.”
- He did not say, “Have faith in yourself.”
- He did not say, “Have faith in faith principles.”
- He did not say, “Have faith in your confession.”
- He did not even say, “Have faith in the Word of God”… No, Jesus was saying, “Have Faith in the God of the Word.”
- No, He said, “Have faith in God.”
- In a God who requires worship.
What makes us different from motivational speakers?
- They fill up buildings.
- They get people excited.
- They lead people in confessions.
- They believe in the power of words.
So what’s the difference? There is a BIG DIFFERENCE!
- They believe in power of themselves.
- They believe they can tap into untapped potential.
- They believe they can force themselves to do better.
- Their faith is in man.
- Our faith is in God.
- We believe we ARE nothing without God.
- We believe we CAN DO nothing Without Him.
- We believe it was God who made up and not we ourselves.
- Our faith is IN HIM… and we worship Him!
(2 Tim 1:9) Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
(2 Tim 1:12 KJV) For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Our faith is in God… the God we WORSHIP!
Let’s get into the factors:
Illustration:
- The Belief Factor
- You will never BE what you cannot SEE.
- Your feet will never take you where your eyes have never been.
- The Faith Factor
- Faith requires action.
- This is when you cross the faith line.
- Faith agrees with heaven.
- *** Not so IT CAN happen, but because IT ALREADY HAS happened!
- The Grace Factor
- Everything God gives you, He gives you by grace.
- You are not righteous because of anything you do, you are righteous because of what Jesus did.
- The God Factor
- You may think you know the What (but His what is often better than your what)
- You won’t know when (unless He tells you)
- You won’t know how (unless He reveals it to you)
- But you better know WHO!
- Never be confused about the WHO!
- Paul said, “I know whom I have believed.”
- The Worship Factor
- Now that I know my faith must be in God, then I can freely worship!
- I worship Him when I have something to lay at His feet and went I don’t.
- I worship Him when I come to church with something on my heart and when I don’t.
- I worship Him in the morning, at noon day, and in the evening.
- I worship Him, because without Him I would not have life, I would not have purpose, I would not have grace, I would not have Jesus, I would not have salvation, I would not have anything!
Testimony: HOW you wait can IMPACT HOW LONG you wait.

Worship melts aware worry and care:
(Phil 4:6,7 KJV) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
(Phil 4:6,7 Message Bible) Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
(1 Peter 5:7 KJV) Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
- How do we CAST our care upon Him?
- Through worship! In worship there is a great-exchange!
(Psalm 116:1-7 Passion Bible) I am passionately in love with God Because He listens to me. He hears my prayers and answers them.
(v.2) As long as I live I’ll keep praying to Him, For He stoops down to listen to my heart’s cry.
(v.3) Death once stared me in the face and I was so close to slipping into its dark shadows. I was terrified and overcome with sorrow.
(v.4) I cried out to the Lord, “God, come and save me!”
(v.5) He was so kind, so gracious to me! Because of His passion toward me, He made everything right and He restored me!
(v.6) So I’ve learned from my experience, That God protects the child-like and humble ones. For I was broken and brought low, But He answered me and came to my rescue!
(v.7) Now I can say to myself and to all, Relax and rest, be confident and serene, For the Lord rewards fully Those who simply trust in Him!
(Isaiah 26:3 KJV) Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
(Isaiah 26:3 God’s Word) With perfect peace you will protect those whose minds cannot be changed, because they trust you.
You BECOME what you BEHOLD:
(2 Cor 3:18 KJV) But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
- You can tell what a person has been focusing on, just by listening to them.
- Faith has a language.
- Worship has a language.
Worship unleashes the Hand of God: Let’s use David as an example.
(Psalm 9:1-3 Passion) O Lord, I will worship You with extended hands As my whole heart explodes with praise! I will tell everyone everywhere about Your wonderful works And how Your marvelous miracles exceed expectations!
(v.2) I will jump for joy and shout in triumph As I sing Your song and make music for the Most High God.
(v.3) For when You appear, I worship While all of my enemies run in retreat. They stumble and perish before Your presence.
(Psalm 18:34-36 Passion) You’ve trained me with weapons of warfare-worship, Now I’ll descend down into battle with power, To chase and conquer my foes.
(v.35) For here is how You empower me: Your wrap-around presence gives me victory. Your power within makes me strong to subdue, And by stooping down in gentleness to strengthen me You’ve made me great!
(v.36) You’ve set me free from being captured And now I’m standing complete, ready to fight some more!
(Psalm 63:1-6 Passion) O God of my life, I’m lovesick for You in this weary wilderness! I thirst with the deepest longings to love You more, With cravings in my heart that cannot be described. Such yearning grips my soul for You, O God,
(v.2) I’m energized whenever I enter Your heavenly sanctuary to seek more of Your power And to drink in more of Your glory.
(v.3) For Your great love and tender kindness Means more to me than life itself! How I love and praise You, God!
(v.4) Daily I will worship You Passionately and with all my heart. My arms will wave to You like banners of praise.
(v.5) I overflow with praise when I come before You. The anointing of Your presence satisfies me like nothing else. You are such a rich banquet of pleasure to my soul.
(v.6) I lie awake each night thinking of You And reflecting on how You help me like a Father.
*** We know what happened in 2 Chron 10 with King Jehosphat***
- What do you do when you don’t know what to do?
- WORSHIP the God of your salvation!
