The Year of Laser Focus (Part 4): Discovering God’s Master Plan For Your Life

by Rick

Today, we continue our series entitled “Laser Focus,” with the point being that we should live with a Laser Focus on the Fixed Purpose God established for us before the world began.

God’s purpose for your life is set and established. God set it before you were born. What you must do, as a child of God, is FIND, FOLLOW, and ultimately FINISH that purpose before you die. The messages I will provide you this year will flow in this vein. One scripture we will meditate on all year is the following:

(Proverbs 4:25 TPT)

Set your gaze on the path before you. With fixed purpose, looking straight ahead, ignore life’s distractions.

In addition to Proverbs 4:25, I told you that I would give you 20 scriptures that drive home the importance of laser focus, which will also help lay a solid foundation for this year. I have shared 15 of those 20 thus far. We will look at the last five today.

So, what does this mean to you today?   A few things.

1. Called to a Holy Life by God’s Purpose and Grace.

2 Timothy 1:9 (KJV)

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.

– You were not saved because of anything you did. You were saved because of what Jesus did, and you simply accepted the free gift of eternal life.

– If you are Born-Again and all God wanted for you was to be saved from hell, you would be dead and in heaven. If Jesus only came for “fire Insurance,” you would be dead and gone.

– Not only did God save you from hell by grace, but he called you for His purpose, also by His unearned grace.

– He called you to a holy calling, so your life could be about something bigger than you!

– God wants your life to be about His purpose, a purpose He established before you were born.

– Live each day in the awareness that you’re fulfilling a heavenly blueprint crafted before the world began. This awareness will help you remain laser-focused on God’s fixed purpose so you are not distracted or derailed from your destiny.

2. You Were Chosen to Produce Lasting Fruit.

John 15:16 (NIV)

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

– You did not choose God before He chose you. He chose you before the world began.

– When you start walking with God, learning and applying His Word, and being led by His Spirit, two main things are supposed to happen. First, God’s Word and Spirit will produce CHANGE IN YOU. Next, they will produce FRUIT FROM YOU!

– Your life is supposed to produce fruit. People are supposed to be able to see God in the fruit your life produces.

– Your fruitfulness is a direct outcome of your divine selection and alignment with His will. You are not supposed to produce the fruit YOU WANT. Your goal should be to produce the fruit HE PLANNED for you before the world began.

3. God Fulfills His Purpose in and Through Us.

Psalm 57:2 (NLT)

I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill his purpose for me.

– Turn to God in every situation, trusting Him to fulfill His purpose in and through your life.

– When you cry out to God, know that your prayers are a conduit for God’s action and fulfillment. But not for selfish desires. The prayers God hears are the ones in agreement and alignment with His purpose.

– Your purpose was fixed and established before you were born. But you walk it out in times and seasons, levels and stages. Embrace every time/season/level/stage of your life as part of God’s overall plan, knowing that you are ultimately fulfilling His purpose.

– Walk in the confidence that every aspect of your life is under the sovereign orchestration of God.

4. Created Through Him and For Him.

Colossians 1:16 (NIV)

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.

– Acknowledge your existence and purpose as part of God’s grand design. You were created by and for Christ.

– Understand that every aspect of creation, including your life, serves a purpose in God’s plan.

– God is a completely purposeful God. He sent you to this planet at just the right time. Your life has divine significance.

– Embrace your role in God’s universe, influencing both the seen and unseen worlds.

– Live with the awareness that your existence is a vital part of God’s divine orchestration. He created you for His purpose!

5. The Lord’s Purpose Prevails.

Proverbs 19:21 (NIV)

You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail.

– This is a time of the year when people are busy making plans for 2024. This scripture is a reminder that God already made plans, and if you choose to walk with Him, He will make sure you understand His plans trump yours.

– If you are a planner (like Isabella and I are), you must constantly check with God concerning your plans. Your goal must be to align your plans with God’s purpose to ensure they are within His will so that they will produce Godly success.

– Learn to surrender your personal ambitions to the greater and prevailing purpose of God.

– Rest in the assurance that God’s purpose is the constant that prevails amidst life’s complexities.

– Navigate life with the understanding that your true success lies in aligning with God’s eternal plan.

– God established a fixed purpose for you before you were born, and this year, you must live determined to pursue that purpose with laser focus, ignoring every distraction!

Declaration of Faith:

Father, I live with a laser focus on Your fixed purpose for my life this year!

I wholeheartedly embrace the purpose You established for me.

I am called to my holy calling. Not because I am good but by Your purpose and grace.

My life produces fruit, and this is a fruit that remains. People can SEE You through my life.

I acknowledge that I am created through Jesus and for Him, and my life serves Your grand design.

I trust that Your purpose, Father, will prevail in my life, guiding my plans and ambitions.

I walk in confidence and faith, aligned with Your will, knowing that You orchestrate all things for my good.

I declare that 2024 is my year to thrive in Your purpose!

GREATER IS COMING for me because I am living the life You planned before the world began!

I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. AMEN!

This is Today’s Word. Apply it and prosper!
