Created and Chosen For God’s Glory!

by Rick

Today, we continue our series entitled “Laser Focus,” with the point being that we should live with a Laser Focus on the Fixed Purpose God established for us before the world began.

This is the main scripture we will be looking at this year.

(Proverbs 4:25 TPT)

Set your gaze on the path before you. With fixed purpose, looking straight ahead, ignore life’s distractions.

(Romans 8:28-30 ERV)

28 We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. These are the people God chose, because that was his plan.

29 God knew them before he made the world. And he decided that they would be like his Son. Then Jesus would be the firstborn of many brothers and sisters.

30 God planned for them to be like his Son. He chose them and made them right with him. And after he made them right, he gave them his glory.

Laying the foundation.

Today, we dive deeper into the profound truth that God has a predetermined plan for each of us. No human on this planet (regardless of how they were born) is a mistake. God planned for each of us before the foundation of the world. This plan is not only to shape us into the likeness of His Son but also to lead us into a life of victory and purpose.

— Predestination in Christ means that as you walk with God and are led by His Spirit, you are walking down a path that leads to a glorious destiny.

— God never promised it would be easy, but this passage reassures us that all things (good or seemingly not-so-good) will ultimately work out for our good and God’s glory!

— Embrace the truth that you are predestined to reflect Christ’s glory on this planet. If you enter every day with this mindset, it will help you remain laser-focused, avoiding distractions.

So, what does this mean for you today?  A few things.

1. God’s Work in Everything for Our Good.

— Romans 8:28 assures us that God can orchestrate every detail of our lives for our benefit, aligning with His sovereign will. This does not mean that God makes bad things happen. But it does mean that God can take the bad that happened and turn it around for our good and His glory!

— Believing in this divine orchestration requires us to maintain a laser focus on God’s fixed purpose, understanding that every event can ultimately work out for us as part of God’s grand design.

— Trusting in God’s plan means recognizing that even challenges serve a purpose in shaping us and propelling us toward our destiny.

— Our love for God is the key that unlocks the understanding and acceptance of His workings in our lives. Said another way, when you love God and know He loves you, you build up a resistance to complain and resilience to endure because you know it will all ultimately work out for your good!

— This verse invites us to live with an awareness of God’s active presence, guiding and transforming every aspect of our journey.

— Embracing this truth helps us to navigate life with confidence, knowing that our loving Father has the power to work things out for our good. He is not doing bad things to us (there is a devil, and many times we do it to ourselves), but He certainly has the power to still work it out for us!

— Let this assurance encourage you to focus squarely on God’s path, undistracted by life’s uncertainties and challenges.

2. Predestined to Be Conformed to the Image of His Son.

— Romans 8:29 reveals God’s ultimate plan for us: to be conformed to the likeness of Jesus Christ.

— When you came to God, you looked and acted like the world. But the more you walk with God, the more you realize that you are actually called to be conformed to the image of His Son. This means you are supposed to be a walking/talking representative of Jesus in this world.

— In order to reflect Christ, you must spend time with Him. The more time you spend in his presence, the more you are changed into the image you see IN HIM!

— This transformation process is central to God’s fixed purpose for our lives, requiring our full attention and cooperation.

— Being molded into Christ’s image involves cultivating His character traits: love, humility, service, obedience, and resilience.

— This divine shaping occurs through our experiences, relationships, and personal growth in faith. You cannot just know God from a book. You must know God through real life through experiences!

— As believers, our journey of becoming more like Jesus is what gives meaning and direction to our lives.

— The knowledge that we are predestined for this transformation empowers us to live purposefully, making choices that reflect our divine calling.

— Focus on your spiritual growth and Christ-likeness as your highest priority, aligning every decision with this eternal goal.

3. Chosen, Justified, and Glorified.

— Romans 8:30 outlines the stages of our spiritual journey: chosen by God, made right with Him, and ultimately sharing in His glory.

— Being chosen by God places a significant responsibility on us to live in a manner worthy of His calling and purpose.

— Justification, being made right with God through faith in Christ, is the foundation upon which our lives are built.

— Our glorification, though not yet fully realized, is a promise that guides us to live with an eternal perspective.

— This progression from being chosen to justified to glorified underscores the importance of staying focused on God’s fixed purpose, as it leads us to our ultimate destiny.]

— Living out these truths requires a steadfast commitment to spiritual discipline, community (i.e., the local church), and a life led by the Holy Spirit.

— Let the reality of your divine selection and destiny fuel your passion to pursue God’s purpose with unwavering focus and dedication.
