Today we will continue our series entitled “God’s Grace & Our Faith.” We are looking at The Law given under Moses vs. the Grace provided by Jesus. Our primary scriptures are John 1:14 & 17. Yesterday we also looked at 2 Peter 1:1-4. We will look at these again today.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
(2 Peter 1:1-4)
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
So what does this mean for you today? A few things.
1. We are called to be holy (which means set apart).
There is corruption in this world, and people are drawn to it by lust. God expects us to be partakers of His divine nature. Once we are, the nature of God will empower us (by His grace) to resist and abstain from the lust for the corruption that is in the world. Once we start living this way (in harmony with God and NOT this world), God’s light shines through us for all the world to see. This is how we show people a better way. That better way is JESUS!
However, if you fail to become a partaker of God’s divine nature through of the knowledge of Him, then you can be a Christian and not live like one. You can be Born-Again and still succumb to the corruption that is in this world through lust.
2. Being Born-Again and fulfilling your purpose is NOT the same thing.
— The day you come into the knowledge of God, the day you accept Jesus as Lord is the day your salvation is secure. However, all that does is ensure you are not going to hell. At that point, you have not done anything to impact this world. To do that, you must come into God’s knowledge of you. When you start living as the person God called you to be, you become the light of the world!
— Coming into the knowledge of God changes you. Coming into God’s knowledge of you (and accepting/embracing it) makes you an agent of change in this world! This is God’s goal. This is His aim. God saves you from the world, and He then sends you right back into it to change it!
— The day you come into the knowledge of God is the day you know you will ‘some day’ travel from earth to heaven. But the day you come into God’s knowledge of you is the day you start bringing heaven the earth!
3. God wants you to be a partaker of His divine nature.
Peter said, “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (2 Peter 1:4).
— The day you were Born-Again, God translated you into His Kingdom. On that day, He also placed His Kingdom INSIDE of you. He then sends you back into the world to live as a partaker of His divine nature, so you can show the world what He is like. Yes, God lives in heaven, but He also lives IN YOU! God sends you into the world to be an example of heaven on earth.
— God wants you to be a partaker of His divine nature so you can show a dark, dying, and decaying world a better way. Being holy is simply about being different than the world. You are not holy because of what you do. You are holy because of who lives in you. The day you start allowing Jesus to SHINE through you is the day your holiness will be on full display. People need to SEE something IN you that they don’t have. If all they see IN you is what they have, they will never come to you for something different becuase they can’t SEE it!
For the world to see something different IN you, you must become a partaker of His divine nature. Let’s discuss that for a minute.
— God is limitless. So when you take on His nature, you see no limits.
— God knows all things. So when you take on His nature, you begin to tap into wisdom and insight that is other-worldly. Like Jesus said to Peter, “Flesh and blood did not reveal that to you.”
— God is eternal. Yesterday, one of my spiritual sons posted this statement on social media: “Eternity is not a measure of time… It is the absence of time.” I have told you many times that God is outside of time. So when God says something to you, He says it from the position of what I call the “eternal NOW!” This means that in eternity, things are always NOW becuase eternity is outside of the continuum of time. So when you take on God’s divine nature, and He reveals something to you from eternity, in time, you see it the way God sees it. For you, at that point, IT IS ALREADY DONE, even though it has not happened in TIME yet. You are so convinced that is already done that your faith is steadfast and unmovable. You are not moved by what you see with your natural eyes. You are only moved by what you see in the Spirit. The UNSEEN, for you, is more real than the SEEN. Why? Because you have become a partaker of God’s divine nature, and you see things the way He does!
— When you become a partaker of God’s divine nature, you will have to be careful whom you share your heart/dreams with because most people in this world will not understand you. When you become a partaker of God’s divine nature, you are not moved by limits, challenges, obstacles, opposition, or even human impossibilities. You see things the way God sees them. You believe every “exceeding great and precious promise” God reveals to you, and you stand on it like it’s already done, even when all the evidence in the world is telling you something different. Do you know what this is called? It’s called FAITH! And the only way you can live this effectively is by the grace of God! #TheGraceLife enables you to walk and live by faith!

Declaration of Faith:
Father, I thank You for teaching me about Your grace and my requirement to live by faith.
I walk and live by faith, and I am able to do so because of Your empowering grace.
I am a partaker of Your divine nature. Your nature is my nature. Therefore, I escape the corruption that is in this world through lust. I am holy because You are holy.
Since I am a partaker of Your divine nature, I don’t see limits becuase You don’t have any. I don’t see lack because You supply all my need. If I ever lack wisdom, You give it to me from above. If I ever lack favor, You open doors no man can close. Everything You are is everything I am. Therefore, I lack nothing.
As Jesus is, so am I in this world. This is why I can declare: GREATER IS COMING FOR ME! I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
