The Miracles of Jesus Pt. 20: Raising Jairus’ Daughter From The Dead Pt. 4 | God Will Honor Your Faith

by Rick

This morning, we continue our series, “The Miracles of Jesus.”

Before we get into the miracle, let’s look at the foundational scripture I will share be sharing with you all year.

(Psalm 126:4 TPT)

Now, Lord, do it again! Restore us to our former glory! May streams of your refreshing flow over us until our dry hearts are drenched again.

This is a season of refreshing and restoring for us.  I pray you get refreshed and restored as we study each miracle.

Read Mark 5:21-43

For the past few days, we have been looking at the story of Jairus. We will continue with the story today. Yesterday we looked at how Jairus was in the middle of a faith-fight when he found out his little girl was dead. Jesus was still willing to honor what Jairus said at the seashore. So Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just keep believing.”

So what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

1.  Satan will crank up the heat on you.

— When you make a declaration of faith, openly agreeing with God and His limitless power, you can expect satan and his kingdom to do all he can to get you to change your confession.

— He will crank up the heat on you, as he did in this case. While Jesus, Jairus, and the disciples were on their way to the little girl, she died. The situation got worse before it got better. And when that happens to us, Jesus ministers to us the way He did with Jairus. Jesus says, “Be not afraid. Keep believing.”

— When you are in a fight of faith, you cannot be moved by the way you see. You can only be moved by what you believe. You must not allow what you see to change what you said in faith!

— When the pressure is on, don’t up.  KEEP BELIEVING!

2.  When the pressure is on (in the middle of a faith-fight), you must surround yourself with people of like-precious faith.

— Once Jairus’ daughter died, since the situation was clearly grave, Jesus forbade the crowd and 9 of the 12 disciples from going any further. Jesus knew He was going into a hostile situation, both in the natural and in the spirit, so He chose to proceed only with his inner circle (Peter, James, and John) and Jairus.

— Think about how important this is. Jesus stopped, turned around, told 75% of His team that they could not go any further, and He told the crowd to stay behind. Then, when Jesus arrived at Jairus’ house, He encountered a group of people who were already mourning. They were crying loudly and uncontrollably. There was a lot of confusion. Jesus entered the home and said, “Why are you people crying and making so much noise? This child is not dead. She is only sleeping.” The people laughed at Jesus. So Jesus kicked them out too!

— When you are in the middle of a faith-fight, you cannot afford to be around people who do not believe.

— I have asked people to leave hospital rooms. Sometimes you need to keep people from coming to your house when you are going through something. When you are believing God for something, you don’t want people around you who will SPEAK AGAINST what you are believing God for!  Their doubt can contaminate your faith!

— You need people around you that are going to believe God with you! Surround yourself with people of like-precous-faith, who are going to build you up and not tear you down!

3.  God will honor your faith by dealing with you according to what you said and believed.

— Do you remember when Jesus said, “We are going to the other side”? He knew it was the Father’s will that He and His team make it to the other side. So when He said, “We are going to the other side,” all of heaven was ready to back Jesus up in order to get there. When the storm arose and Jesus spoke to the storm, the storm immediately stopped becuase Jesus spoke words of faith from a believing heart that aligned with heaven’s will.

— Earlier in this series, I taught you about the Roman Centurion and his servant. Jesus was ready to go to the man’s house to heal the servant. But the Roman officer had enough faith to believe without seeing. The man said, “Speak the word only, and my servant will be healed.” Jesus was amazed by this man’s faith. Jesus said, “Go! Your servant is healed.” And the man’s servant was healed at that very moment.

— So, in the case of Jairus, Jesus could have spoken healing from the seashore, but that’s not what Jairus said. God will deal with you according to your level of faith. God will honor your faith so much that He will deal with you according to what you say and believe.

— Jairus did not have the faith the Roman Centurion did. Jairus could not believe without seeing. So he required Jesus to do two things: 1) go to his house, and 2) lay hands on his daughter. If Jesus did those two things, Jairus believed that she would recover and she would live.

— On the way to Jairus’ house, there someone else came into the picture. This time, it was a woman who had her own declaration of faith. She had been bleeding for 12 long years. She had spent all her money on doctors. She did not get any better. She got worse. But since God will deal with you based on your declaration of faith, what she was SAYING is important.

This woman kept saying, “If I can just touch Jesus’ garments, I shall be made whole!” That was her confession. That’s what she was saying. She was speaking words of faith from a believing heart. There were other people who were touching Jesus. But they didn’t have the same confession as this woman. So they were touching Him, and nothing was happening. This woman came and touched Jesus. As soon as she did, the power of God left Jesus’ body and healed her.  JUST LIKE SHE SAID!

— When Jesus got to the house, and after He kicked all the people out who did not have faith, He could have just SPOKEN to the little girl, and she would have come alive. But wait! That’s not what Jairus said. Jairus asked two things of Jesus: 1) come to my house, and 2) lay hands my daughter. So guess what Jesus did? Before he raised the girl from the dead, He walked over and laid His hands on her. Why? Because that is what Jairus said!

— The Roman Centurion’s servant was healed without Jesus going to his house. Why? Because that is what he said and believed.

— Jairus’ daughter was raised from the dead in his house after Jesus laid hands on her. Why did it happen this way? Because that is what he said and believed.

— Along the way, the woman with the issue of blood was healed when she touched Jesus’ garment. Why? Because that is what she said and believed.

*** God will honor your faith enough to NOT force His will on you. He will meet you at your level of faith, and He will deal with you according to what you are able to believe and speak.

I teach all of this in my affirmation books (for men and women).  Here are the links to those if you don’t have them:

4.  It’s never too late for God! If God is still alive, then your situation still has hope!

— Jesus arrived at Jairus’ home after the little girl stopped breathing. Jesus was not moved by the fact that the little girl’s body was dead.  Jesus was only moved by the fact that Jairus’ faith was alive!

— Living faith can overcome dead situations. There is nothing God cannot do.

— One Word from God can turn any seemingly dead situation around!  But you must have the courage to believe God despite what you are seeing with your natural eyes!

That’s enough for today.

Declaration of Faith:

Father, this is a season of refreshing and restoring for me!

As I study the miracles of Jesus, my faith is increased!

I am learning about Your grace and my faith.

Everything You do, You do by Your unearned grace. You freely offer me Your best by grace. But in response, You require me to live by faith. You require me to believe and receive what You reveal to me. And you require me to NOT BE MOVED by what I see!

You then deal with me according to my faith. I am only limited by my capacity to believe, which is why I surround myself with people of like-precious-faith.

When the pressure is on, I thank You for giving me a close circle of friends who can believe WITH ME!

You are not moved when my situation seems dead. You are only moved by the fact that my faith is still alive! So, no matter how bad things get, I refuse to throw in the towel, give up, cave in, or quit.

I keep my faith-switch in the “ON” position! As I do, Your power will be released in my life this year like never before! GREATER IS COMING FOR ME! I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

This is Today’s Word. Apply it and prosper!
