(3 John 2, AMP) “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers.”
This morning we continue our series, “Grace that is Simply Amazing” by continuing with our new mini-series entitled, “Grace Based Success (Prosperity)”. So far in this mini-series we have taken a look at the definition of Godly success, the difference between working hard on your own and working by God’s grace, and the fact that God loves us. We spent most of last week focusing on God’s love. The Apostle John said, “So we know the love that God has for us, and we trust that love” (1 John 4:16). When you know God loves you and you get to the point where you trust in His love, you are in position to embrace, access and enjoy God’s grace for earthly success.
The reason I take my time on topics is because it takes time to renew your mind. If your thinking and God’s thinking about a given topic are not in alignment, then you will never maximize that area of your life until you renew your mind. In our scripture today the Apostle John said, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers.” Today we will take a look at this scripture in light of all the others we have studied thus far in this series.
So what does this mean to you today? A few things.
1. Your soul is comprised of your mind (the way you think), emotions (the way you feel) and will (the way you make decisions). Soul prosperity is about aligning your thinker, feeler and chooser with God and His word.
2. Soul prosperity is key to life prosperity. God’s process seeks to make you prosperous in your soul first, before you becomes prosperous in life, because material possessions can ruin a fool. People tell God they want things, but God will never give you what He knows will destroy you. He wants to see you prosperous in your soul before He opens the door of divine favor.
3. To say that prosperity is about money is not incorrect, but it is surely incomplete. God is not opposed to you having all the resources you need to accomplish your divine assignment. But Godly prosperity includes much more than money.
4. The first step to accessing and experiencing divine prosperity (or success) is acknowledging and being continually aware of God’s unfailing love.
5. You must settle the issue of God’s love for you. God wants you to know that you are individually and uniquely loved by Him. When you recognize and embrace His love, you become stable in life. His love establishes you for earthly success.
6. The enemy attacks your confidence in God’s love, because he knows faith works by love. Your faith will be strong when you know how much God loves you.
7. You should confess every day that you are God’s beloved. When you feed on this truth, you will become more and more conscious of it.
8. Your success in every arena of your life is connected to the level of success you can see in your soul. God requires you to SEE it before you can BE it. Your legs will never take you where your eyes have never been. God works on your soul prosperity first, to make you prosperous on the inside, before He makes you prosperous on the outside.
Closing Confession: Father, I thank You for teaching me about Your love, Your grace, and Your desire for me to be successful in life. It is Your will that I prosper. You brought me into the earth when You did and where You did, because of WHY You did. I am here for my divine purpose. You made plans for me before the foundations of the world and my assignment is to FIND, FOLLOW and FINISH those plans. As I do pursue my assignment, I embrace, accept and seek to experience Your grace, and I submit myself to the process of mind renewal. I know my life prosperity is connected to my soul prosperity. Therefore, I declare that if there is any area of my life where my soul (the way I think, feel and make decisions) does not line up with Your will for my life, then I will submit myself to changing. I want to align my soul with Your will for my life. I will see myself and think of myself the way You see and think of me. I come in alignment with my divine assignment. I change on the inside, knowing that internal change is required before I see external success. So Father, I become the person You want me to be. I change by faith. My mind is renewed. My decisions are decisions that are led of Your Spirit and decisions that line up with Your Word. I am who You say I am. I can do what You say I can do. I become the person You birthed me to be. And I experience life prosperity, because I submit to the process of soul prosperity. I am determined to become the conduit through which Your light and Your love touches this world. I live my life focused on being used of You Father, for Your glory. And as I do, I know You will see to it that I receive everything I need to maximize my purpose and potential in life. Not because I am so good, but because You are. Not because I earned it, but because You love me. I know You love me, so I am not afraid. I enter this day believing Your love and trusting in Your love. I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
This is Today’s Word! Apply it and Prosper.
