(Ecc 3:1 KJV) To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
(Ecc 3:1 ERV) There is a right time for everything, and everything on earth will happen at the right time.
This morning I take us back to our series, “Grace that is Simply Amazing” by continuing our mini-series entitled, “Grace Based Success (Prosperity)”. But I will not immediately go back to studying Peter. This morning, as I prayed about this message and where I am in my life, the Lord gave me this thought: Times and seasons. As I prepare for this next phase of my life I believe the Lord wants me to talk to you about discerning and operating within the timing of God.
So what does this mean to you today? A will cover the topic with a broad brush. Prepare your heart. The Lord gave me a lot this morning.
1. Your purpose is fixed and it was established before the foundations of the world.
a) God developed your purpose by His unearned and amazing grace (Jer 1:5, Gal 1:15, Eph 2:10).
b) You are born without carnal knowledge of your purpose, but you are born predisposed to your purpose.
c) It is only when you find Jesus that you can find your true self.
d) When you find your true self — the person God called you to be from the foundations of the world — you can then walk in your divine purpose.
2. Once you know what your purpose is, God gives you incremental vision so you can walk it out.
a) Vision is foresight, birthed from insight, with the benefit of hindsight.
b) Divine vision is incremental (meaning that God won’t give it all to you at once) and progressive (meaning that the longer you walk with God, the more He can show you).
c) When the vision is from God, the provision if from God. Wherever God leads, He feeds. Where He guides, He provides.
3. God’s grace is already allocated to you for your purpose.
a) Not only did God give you an assignment before the world began, but along with the assignment God gave you the grace to complete it (see 2 Tim 1:9).
b) God will never expect you to do what He has not equipped you to do. But whatever He equips you to do, He expects you to do.
c) God does not require you to accomplish your divine purpose by your own strength. He gives you His empowerment, His GRACE, to do what you could never do on your own.
4. God did all of this for you completely by grace (2 Tim 1:9).
a) God saved you AND Called you, with a HOLY CALLING, NOT according to your OWN WORKS.
b) Not because you were good enough.
c) Not because you prayed long enough.
d) Not because you gave enough.
e) Not because you have been so faithful.
f) Before you ever did anything RIGHT or WRONG God called you by GRACE!
5. Discerning God’s timing is critical.
a) Knowing your purpose, understanding God’s grace, building up your faith, and receiving Godly vision are all important, but if you don’t understand God’s timing you will get frustrated.
b) The right thing at the wrong time becomes the wrong thing.
c) Your watch must be set to God’s clock.
d) God operates in times and seasons. Times shift and seasons change, but God’s purpose for your life remains the same.
e) You must develop the ability to discern the time and season you are in.
f) If you try to hold on to something God told you to do after the season for it has come and gone, you will be behind God, living in yesterday and holding on to dead stuff!
g) If you try to jump out into your next season too early you will be ahead of God, and you won’t have the grace to do it. It is the right thing, but the wrong time, so it will lead to failure and frustration.
h) Divine success requires a synchronization with God. When you are in synch with God His grace, your faith and divine vision will all line up. When this happens, heaven is manifested on earth in your life.
Closing Confession: Father, I thank You for teaching me about Your grace and my requirement to live by faith. Studying Your grace and my faith have changed the way I look at life and success. I now have a better understanding of Your part and my part in my success. So by faith I declare that I discern my divine purpose, a purpose You established for me before the world began. I did not earn it, but I do discern it and I walk it out by faith. In order to walk it out successfully You give me divine vision. You allow me to see beyond where my eyes can look. I have vision and insight from heaven. With grace, faith and vision all in place, all that is left to discern is Your timing. By faith I declare that my watch is set to Your clock. I do the right things at the right times and I experience divine results. I am not behind You, holding on to the past. I am not ahead of You, jumping too far into the future. I am in my sweet spot. I am doing what You want me to do in this season and heaven has my back. I experience heaven on earth today and every day because I am walking out my purpose, by faith, with Your grace, in synch with Your timing. I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
