(Read Mat 14)
This morning we continue our series, “Grace that is Simply Amazing” by continuing our mini-series entitled, “Grace Based Success (Prosperity)”. We have been studying the life of the Apostle Peter. Our study has brought us to Matthew 14. We have spent just about a month studying this chapter. In it we have learned a great deal about God and His grace. Today we will close out the week considering the fact that God’s grace is always enough!
So what does this mean to you today? A few things.
1. Our God is purpose minded, not lack minded, and His grace is always available to complete His purposes.
2. When John the Baptist was beheaded and the Father led Jesus to respond by healing the sick in the crowd around Jesus. Notice how the grace of God was available to heal ALL who were sick. The measure of grace was equal to the assignment. It did not matter how many were sick were in the crowd, the grace of God was available for them all. The more the sick came, the more the grace of God flowed. Jesus was never concerned that God’s grace may run out.
3. After healing ALL who were sick in the crowd Jesus then fed ALL who were hungry in the crowd. God wanted to feed the crowd, He received the little what was IN the crowd (two fish and five loaves of bread) as a seed, and He provided the harvest. God’s grace was available to supernaturally feed over 5,000. Notice how the fish and loaves kept multiplying until everyone ate. Actually, everyone ate until they were full and afterwards there were 12 baskets of food leftover. As the people kept coming the grace kept flowing. God was not concerned with the size of the crowd, He was never worried about running out of grace. Need never trumps grace.
4. When Jesus was at the shore without a boat and He needed to catch up with His team, He tapped into the grace of God to walk on water. Notice how God’s grace never ran out. It’s not like He could only make it half way. The more Jesus kept walking the more God’s grace kept flowing. This is how God expects us to interact with him.
5. Don’t focus on need or lack, always focus on God and His purposes.
6. The grace of God is always available for God’s purpose and His grace is always equal to the assignment.
7. Don’t pray from a position of need, pray from a position of grace.
a) Praying from a position of grace means you believe God has already made provisions for His purpose and your faith is simply accessing His grace.
b) Praying from a position of grace means you don’t pray trying to get God to do it. You pray from the position that it’s already done!
c) When you pray from a position of grace you are not praying for the victory, you are praying FROM a position of victory.
d) To pray from a position of grace you must shift your focus. Instead of living from this world’s perspective, you live from heaven’s perspective.
Closing Confession: Father, I thank You for teaching me about Your grace and my requirement to live by faith. The more I study Your grace, the more my perspective changes for just about everything in life. There was a time in my life when I prayed from a position of need. I thought of all the things I needed and I asked You to give them to me. I now see why those prayers were ineffective. I was looking at things from this world’s perspective and not heaven’s. I am learning to live from Your point of view. Your grace is always equal to Your assignment. You are never moved by the size of the need. You are never concerned about running out. You are only focused on Your divine purposes and You have already made provisions for everything You want to accomplish in the earth through me. So from this day forward I pray and look at life from a position of grace. I focus on my purpose and I trust that You have already made provisions for it. My faith accesses Your grace and Your grace never runs out. Your grace is always enough. This takes the pressure OFF of me. I enter this day and every day focused on YOU and Your plans for my life. Whatever I need to accomplish Your plans, I know the grace is already there and it is more than enough! I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
