Living On Purpose

by Rick

This morning we continue our series entitled, “Refined Focus”, with an emphasis on “Focusing on God’s Finished Work”.  We have been looking at the call of Jeremiah.  Today we will continue to flow in this vein..

The Lord said to Jeremiah, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” (Jer 1:5 KJV).

So what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

  1.  God is a completely purposeful God.  He brought you forth when and where He did for His divine purpose.  Jeremiah was on this planet to be a prophet.  God was specific with Jeremiah and He will be specific with you.

  1.  Your purpose is tailor-made.  The God who knows all things decided to call Jeremiah to the prophetic office.  He then designed Jeremiah for his specific purpose.  Like Jeremiah, you were designed by God to fit the call to which He decided you would walk in.  Therefore, you will never find success in life until you discover your divine assignment.  Until you know who you are, you will pursue things God did not prepare for you, because they are not yours.  Everything that is yours, everything connected to your divine assignment, is already prepared.  It’s already done.  It’s God’s finished work.

  1.  The world is waiting on you to fulfill your purpose.  There was a need in the earth for Jeremiah’s anointing to be a prophet and there is a need in the earth for your anointing as well.  Your community needs you to walk in your divine purpose.  Your family needs you to be the beacon of hope God has called you to be.  Your workplace needs you to walk in your divine giftings.  There are things God called YOU to do, that until you start walking in your purpose, they are going undone.  Stop making your life about you, your desires, and your ability.  The day you die to self and start walking in your purpose, the entire earth will thank you for it.

  1.  Don’t focus on need, focus on purpose.  My wife (Isabella) and I are in the Dominican Republic today and for the next few days.  While we are thankful to oversee a ministry that is providing an education for 150 children, and to be able to provide food for those impacted by Hurricane Matthew in Haiti, we don’t live our lives driven by need.  If you focus on need, your life will be unfocused.  There will always be need.  Jesus said, “The poor you will have with you always” (Mat 26:11).  Jeremiah was not driven by need, he was driven by his purpose.  Isabella and I seek to do the same.  When you are driven by purpose and not by need, you will know which needs to meet for people, while remaining completely focused on your divine assignment.

Closing Confession:  Father, this is a season of refined focus for me.  I bring my life into focus in 2016.  I live my life on purpose.  I FIND, FOLLOW and FINISH my divine assignment before I die.  I am the man You called me to be.  I walk in Your finished work for my life.  I leave a mark in this world that will not easily be erased.  Instead of living my life focused on me, I live my life focused on You and what You called me to do.  Your plans for my life are already finished and I choose to REST in Your finished work!  I declare this by faith.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

This is Today’s Word!  Apply it and Prosper.

God really has a purpose for each one of us according to his promises
And our things are already there in spirit , what is required is to plant a seed which is the word of God.The more we read the word the more the annointing .Then we will be able to walk according to his purpose.
