Monday, I started a new series entitled “God is faithful!” I shared with you that Sunday, while I was in church, the worship team sang “Yes and Amen” by Bethel music. Here are some of the lyrics that I kept meditating on from that song:
Faithful, You are
Faithful, forever, You will be
Faithful, You are
All Your promises are Yes and Amen
All Your promises are Yes and Amen
The song is based on 2 Corinthians 1:20. We have been looking at this verse all week. Today I am going to focus on this verse from The Passion Translation.
(2 Corinthians 1:20 TPT)
For all of God’s promises find their “yes” of fulfillment in him. And as his “yes” and our “amen” ascend to God, we bring him glory!
So what does this mean for you today? A few things.
1. God is looking for our faith on the earth.
In Luke 18, Jesus taught a parable about prayer. It was about a poor widow who would not give up on seeking justice from a judge until the judge gave her the justice she was looking for. At the end of the parable, Jesus said this: “God will give swift justice to those who don’t give up. So be ever praying, ever expecting, in the same way as the widow. Even so, when the Son of Man comes back, will he find this kind of undying faith on earth?” (Luke 18:8).
I want to key in on the last part of Jesus’ statement. He was saying, “When I come back to the earth, I will be looking for faith! Faith like this woman had. Faith that will never give up on God. Faith that will continue to believe until it receives what has been promised!” That’s what this series is all about. I want you to believe in God’s faithfulness to the point where it causes you to live by faith in every promise He has ever spoken to you. Like the widow in the parable, you can never give up on what God said!
— God has given you many great and precious promises in His written Word. These are promises that apply to you and to many others.
— God has given you special promises that pertain to your individual assignment on this planet. These are promises that are tailor-made for you!
— God wants you to believe Him! He wants you to believe that He will do everything He said He would do in your life!
— When you believe God, and you remind Him of what He said, He is not upset about it. He actually likes it. He is happy with the fact that you, as His child, actually believe in His faithfulness. When Jesus comes back to the earth, He will be looking for faith. Guess what? He is looking for it now. He is looking for it from you, every day. Will you give it to Him? Will you believe God? Will you exercise faith in Him to make His Word good in your life?
*** God has provided the “YES!” He is looking for you to believe and provide the “AMEN!”
2. When we agree with God and launch out in faith, we bring glory to His name!
(2 Corinthians 1:20 TPT)
For all of God’s promises find their “yes” of fulfillment in him. And as his “yes” and our “amen” ascend to God, we bring him glory!
I want to focus on the latter part of the verse. Paul teaches us that as God’s “YES” and our “AMEN” ascend back to God, we bring him glory on this planet!
— When some Christians think about glorifying God on the earth, they think of singing songs of praise, giving God worship, or spending time in prayer. All of those are fine. But here’s another way to bring glory to God’s name on this planet. The text teaches us that we glorify God on the earth when heaven sees God’s YES and our AMEN ascending from the earth. God is looking for faith!
— God gives us promises that far exceed our human ability, power, and strength. He gives us audacious promises, and He is pleased when we believe them.
— When you come across someone who truly believes God, who has died to self to the point where their life is ALL ABOUT HIM, and who has a heart that is OPEN to whatever God wants to do in/with/through them, this will be a person who says audacious things! This person will say things that are way beyond what is expected of them (in the natural), and when they say these things, in faith, they are often misunderstood. Many people around them, even so-called believers (unfortunately), wind up thinking that these people are a little crazy because they dare to believe things far beyond the expected norm for their lives. In a way, others wind up thinking that these people are somewhat disconnected from reality. Guess what? That is exactly what God is looking for!
— God is looking for you to believe in His reality, which is not based on the reality or limits of this present world.
— When you believe God, and you live on earth in sync with heaven, it may mean that you seem out-of-sync with the people down here, in this world, and you have to be okay with that.
— The life of faith is a life that will make you seem unreasonable at times because God will lead you to believe and attempt things that seem nonsensical or even flat-out impossible!
*** But when you agree with God, and heaven sees God’s YES and your AMEN ascending up into the heavenly realm, the text says that we bring glory to His name!
*** Please put a smile on your heavenly Father’s face today. Have the audacity to believe God!
That’s enough for today.
Declaration of Faith:
Father, I thank You for leading me to LEVEL UP in this season. I LEVEL UP my capacity to believe You! I remove every artificial limit I have ever placed on You! I disconnect myself from the limits of this present world. I base my faith and my expectation in heaven, where there are no limits. As it is in heaven, so shall it be on the earth, in my life. I believe God and GREATER IS COMING FOR ME! I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
This is Today’s Word! Apply it and Prosper.
