Today we will continue our series entitled “God’s Grace & Our Faith.” We are looking at The Law given under Moses vs. the Grace provided by Jesus. Our primary scriptures are John 1:14 & 17. Yesterday we also looked at 2 Peter 1:1-4. We will look at these again today.
(John 1:14 New International Version)
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
(John 1:17 New International Version)
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
(2 Peter 1:1-4)
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Today I will focus on this line: “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God.”
So what does this mean to you today? A few things.
1. Your life is supposed to change as you receive revelation concerning the plans God made for you before the world began.
— When you open your heart and mind to God’s divine revelation concerning the plans He made for you before you were born, it changes the way you “do life.” Meaning that once you are at peace with the fact that God planned for your arrival and that He already set up everything you will need to be successful, your life becomes less about your striving and more about making an earthly alignment with your heavenly assignment.
— It would be foolish if you asked God to reveal His plans to you, and He did, only for you to GO ON LIVING the same way you did before you discovered God’s plans. Said another way, if God’s revelation does not lead to a change in your conduct and character, it is clear that you have hardened your heart towards God and are in stark disobedience. Please don’t let this be you. The whole point of asking God to reveal His purpose to you is SO YOU CAN DO what He reveals!
2. Divine revelation leads to a greater level of grace and peace.
— Peter tells us that God’s grace and peace can literally be multiplied to us. But this multiplication does not come as a result of our performance. It comes as a result of revealed knowledge.
— Before I was Born-Again, I lived my life based on what I thought was right. My heart had been conditioned by the credible authority figures in my life, my life experiences, and my education, and I chartered my journey based on my internal compass. But now that God’s Spirit lives inside of me, it’s supposed to be different. I am supposed to live my life based on revealed knowledge.
— In Matthew 4:4, from the Message Bible, Jesus said, “It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God’s mouth.” This steady stream of God’s words is revealed to us by His Spirit, and we are supposed to live off of what He reveals.
— This series is about you learning to discover what is (in God’s sight) already done. So the more God reveals about the plans He already made for you, the more you know what grace and peace you can access. It’s not that God is responding to you. You are actually responding to revealed knowledge. The more God reveals, the more you get to walk in by faith. The life of faith, then, is a life of believing, receiving, and pursuing what God reveals to us — things He has already done.
3. The Holy Spirit gives you a revelation of what, for God, is already done!
— We are not waiting on God to do. God has already done. God is waiting on us to receive the revelation of what He has done, so we can know what to do and how to do it. At that point, we are not doing to get God to move. We are doing because God has already moved. Our doing is based on the fact that it is already done.
— You don’t have to come up with your own plans. You don’t have to invent/create your own life. True life is in discovering what God has already done. Your life will be amazing when it is not based on your ideas but rather His!
— If your life is all about your own plans and decisions, then Jesus is not relevant to you. Acknowledging the fact that God already made plans, and seeking to live your life in accordance with those plans, keeps Jesus relevant in your daily living.
— God prepared for you, and now He is actively preparing you to walk in what He prepared. When this becomes your mindset, you will look at every challenge and/or opportunity through the lens of faith.
— Stop thinking that God has to provide. Start discerning that God has already provided. God has provided all things that pertain to life and godliness. But the only way to discover this is through revealed knowledge. The more you grow in your knowledge of God, the more you will have grace and peace. You will have the grace to do what you are called to do, and you will have peace in your heart in the process. This peace will help you ENJOY THE JOURNEY becuase it will not be challenge free. The devil will do all he can to get you off course, but if you keep meditating (and medicating) on what God revealed, grace and peace will keep your feet bound to the path God established for you before the world began!
That’s enough for today.
Declaration of Faith:
Father, I thank You for teaching me about Your grace and my requirement to live by faith.
I am determined to walk in the fullness of the divine potential You placed IN me. This will not happen because of my DOING. It will happen because, for You, it is already done!
I open my heart to receive the revelation of all You have already planned for me in this season. I am determined to release my faith to bring to pass what You reveal.
I live every day in pursuit of the plans You already made. As I live my life based on Your revealed knowledge, Your Word teaches me that grace and peace will be multiplied to me!
I have the grace to do what You reveal and the peace to endure no matter how long it takes. Thank You for grace and peace, Father. With both in my life, I know GREATER IS COMING FOR ME! I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
This is Today’s Word! Apply it and Prosper.
