This morning, we start to wind down our series, “The Miracles of Jesus.” This series started on January 2nd, and we are finally wrapping it up this week.
Before we get into the wind-down, let’s take a look at this scripture.
(Psalm 126:4 TPT)
Now, Lord, do it again! Restore us to our former glory! May streams of your refreshing flow over us until our dry hearts are drenched again.
This is a season of refreshing and restoring for us. I pray you get refreshed and restored as we study each miracle.
Continuing the teaching on the Kingdom of God, let us further delve into the truths of the Kingdom and the reality of what Jesus was doing when He was on the earth. If we truly understand the significance of the Kingdom, we will open ourselves to a paradigm shift that aligns us with God’s divine purpose and plan for our lives.
To grasp the essence of the Kingdom, we must recognize that God is not merely a distant deity, but a King, ruling over a domain that extends beyond the confines of earthly limitations. He exercises sovereign authority, making decisions that are final and immutable, without any room for checks or balances. Our understanding of kingship may be influenced by systems of government that feature presidents and prime ministers, but the Kingdom of God transcends these constructs. It is a realm where God’s power, majesty, and rule are absolute and unchallenged.
Adam, the first man, was intended to be God’s representative and ruler on this planet, extending the Kingdom of heaven to earth. However, his failure in the Garden of Eden resulted in a temporary setback. God ultimately sent Jesus to succeed where Adam failed. Jesus manifested God’s Kingdom in a way that is evident if you understand what He was doing but not evident if you think He came to establish an earthly kingdom. Part of the reason why people missed who Jesus was is because they thought the Messiah was going to come and establish an earthy kingdom. Therefore, if Jesus were the Messiah, then many thought that He was supposed to overthrow the Romans, who were in power at the time. But Jesus’ Kingdom is not of this world.
Jesus’ ministry was marked by the proclamation that the Kingdom of God was at hand. But many missed what He was saying because they were not looking for a spiritual Kingdom. They were looking for an earthly one.
Through his miracles, Jesus showcased glimpses of heaven’s reality, where sickness, disease, and lack had no place. The blind received sight, the lame walked, and the dead were raised. In each miracle, heaven intersected with earth, demonstrating the supernatural power and authority of the Kingdom; a Kingdom NOT of this world.
As believers, we are called to continue Jesus’ mission. We have been commissioned as ambassadors, sent to represent heaven and extend its influence on earth. Just as an ambassador represents their homeland in a foreign country, we are to represent the Kingdom of God in this fallen world. Our resources, guidance, and authority come from the heavenly realm. We receive our instructions directly from the King of kings, and our mandate is to faithfully carry His message and manifest His power.
While the Kingdom of God is a spiritual Kingdom, it does manifest itself in the earthly domain. The reality of God’s Kingdom, which we cannot see or feel, impacts our lives in ways that we can surely see, feel, and experience. In God’s Kingdom, we experience His best spiritually, physically, emotionally, relationally, financially, and otherwise. We are empowered to live in victory, free from the bondage of sin, sickness, and lack. We have access to heavenly resources, are guided by divine wisdom, and are equipped to make a tangible impact in the world. We are called to manifest heaven’s realities in a hurting world. When we live by faith, we tap into God’s grace to see His Kingdom come “on earth as it is in heaven.”
The miracles of Jesus were not mere displays of power; they were invitations to experience the Kingdom in the present. By extending heaven’s realities through His miracles, Jesus showed us that the Kingdom is not a distant future hope but a present reality that we can access through faith. As followers of Jesus, we are called to continue His work, bringing heaven’s love, power, and healing to those around us.
Moreover, the miracles serve as a powerful reminder that suffering is not God’s intention for us. Jesus came to extend heaven to the earth, dispelling the notion that we must endure hardships until we reach heaven. Jesus revealed the Father’s heart to see His children experience the abundant life He offers.
So what does this mean to you today? Once again, I have already given you a great deal, but I will give you a few quick points to further drive home the message.
1. Jesus came to earth to extend the Kingdom of God to this world. Adam had the assignment first, and he failed. Jesus succeeded. Jesus put heavenly realities on display with each miracle.
2. Like Adam and Jesus, we have the assignment to represent and extend heaven’s influence on earth. While our Kingdom is one you cannot see in this world, it has the power to manifest itself in this world in ways we can see. As citizens of this Kingdom, God expects us to use our faith to lay hold of His grace, so we can see manifestations of His glory in our lives.
3. As citizens of God’s Kingdom, we are called to be ambassadors and colonizers. As ambassadors, we represent and influence. As colonizers, we advance God’s Kingdom by taking possession of territory.
4. It is not God’s will for us to merely suffer “down here” until we get “up there.” We are called to experience heaven’s blessings in the present. The Kingdom is NOW!
5. Our true home is in the eternal Kingdom, but we can taste its blessings NOW as we walk in obedience and faith.
6. As heaven’s ambassadors, we bring hope, healing, and transformation to a dark, dying, and decaying world. We are supposed to be light amid the darkness, hope amid despair, and love amid selfishness.
7. When we embrace the grace to live as the men and women we are destined to be, our lives will testify to the reality of heaven on earth. When people look at us and come in contact with us, they get a glimpse of what heaven will be like. This is part of the transformative power of God’s Kingdom.
8. Jesus was the ultimate representative of the Father. He came to extend heaven to the earth. His ministry was a manifestation of the Kingdom of God breaking into our reality. Guess what? We are called to live as He lived. “As Jesus is, so are we, in this world!” (1 Jn 4:17). Never forget it. Go out there today and do what Jesus would do. Become a conduit of heaven on the earth. This is our mandate as citizens of God’s Kingdom.
I pray that our lives will become living testimonies of the reality of heaven on earth. May our words, actions, and deeds reflect the character and nature of our King. Let’s believe God to impact our families, communities, and nations with the love and power of the Kingdom of God.
Declaration of Faith:
Father, this is a season of refreshing and restoring for me!
I declare that I am a citizen of the Kingdom of God. I align my life with the principles of Your Kingdom, Father, and I submit to Your rule.
As a representative of the Kingdom, I embrace the assignment given to Adam and fulfilled by Jesus. I am called to extend heaven’s influence on earth and manifest the realities of the Kingdom in tangible ways. Through faith, I tap into the supernatural power of the Kingdom and release healing, love, and transformation to those around me.
By the authority given to me as an ambassador, I bring heaven’s blessings into my life and the lives of others.
I am determined to live a life that testifies to the reality of heaven on earth. As Jesus is, so am I in this world.
My words, actions, and deeds reflect the character and nature of my King, impacting my family, community, and nation with the love and power of the Kingdom.
As I walk in alignment with Your Kingdom, Your glory and goodness will be evident in my life and in the lives of those around me. I boldly declare, GREATER IS COMING FOR ME! I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
This is Today’s Word. Apply it and prosper!
