This morning, we start to wind down our series, “The Miracles of Jesus.” This series started on January 2nd, and we are finally wrapping it up this week.
Before we get into the wind-down, let’s take a look at this scripture.
(Psalm 126:4 TPT)
Now, Lord, do it again! Restore us to our former glory! May streams of your refreshing flow over us until our dry hearts are drenched again.
This is a season of refreshing and restoring for us. I pray you get refreshed and restored as we study each miracle.
The miracles of Jesus are part of the foundation of our Christian faith because they display the power of God in ways humans can experience. With each healing, display of power over nature, resurrection, or deliverance, Jesus provided tangible evidence of His divine authority and also showed us that God is deeply concerned with the welfare of His people, both in body and spirit.
The miracles of Jesus are a powerful testimony to his divinity and his authority over all things. They show that he is not only the Son of God but also the Savior of the world. The miracles of Jesus are also a source of hope and encouragement for us today. They remind us that God is still in God, even in the midst of our troubles.
Today, we will break up the miracles into four categories and see how the power of God can impact every area of your life.
— Healing miracles: Jesus healed people of all kinds of diseases, including blindness, deafness, leprosy, and paralysis.
— Nature miracles: Jesus controlled the forces of nature, such as the wind and the sea.
— Resurrection miracles: Jesus raised people from the dead, including his own.
— Deliverance miracles: Jesus cast out demons from people who were possessed.
So what does this mean to you today? Let’s break it down further.
1. Healing miracles:
The healing miracles Jesus performed carry a profound message of hope and restoration. When Jesus caused the blind to see, the lame to walk, the deaf to hear, the dumb to speak, and the lepers to be clean, He displayed His authority over sickness and disease, reassuring us that no disease or disorder is beyond His reach or His care. These miracles remind us that our God is still a healer, still deeply invested in the well-being of His children, with a heart that is stirred by our suffering and ready to bring about healing and restoration.
— Jesus, the divine physician, can heal all manner of sickness and disease; nothing is beyond His power. There is nothing He can’t do!
— Healing is a demonstration of God’s compassion and mercy, revealing His heart for the suffering of His children.
— Our God is still a healer today, always ready to bring restoration and wholeness.
— Our God is a healer and He is ready to heal those who call out to Him in faith!
2. Nature miracles:
The nature miracles, where Jesus showcased His power over the wind, the sea, and other elements, stand as powerful reminders that God is indeed the Lord of all creation. These miracles encourage us to trust in God’s sovereignty, even amidst the storms of life. We can find solace in the fact that the same Jesus who calmed the stormy sea can bring calm to our lives today, bringing peace to our storms.
— Jesus has divine authority over all of creation; even the wind and the waves obey His voice.
— These miracles demonstrate that no situation is beyond God’s control.
— God’s command over nature reassures us of His omnipotence and sovereignty in our lives.
— Through the nature miracles, we are encouraged to trust God in situations that are beyond our control. When the disciples saw that their boat was taking on water and they thought they were going to die, Jesus spoke to the storm, and the storm obeyed Him. In like manner, when we are facing something we feel like we have no control over and are “freaking out,” we can find peace by remembering the eternal nature of God’s power. If He could bring peace to a natural storm, He can surely bring peace to the storms in our hearts.
3. Resurrection miracles:
The resurrection miracles (the power of Jesus to raise the dead back to life) carry profound implications for every believer. They demonstrate that death is not the end, and that in Jesus, we have the promise of eternal life. The same power that raised Lazarus, the widow’s son, and Jairus’ daughter, and indeed, that raised Jesus Himself from the dead, gives us confidence in our own resurrection and eternal life.
— Jesus has defeated death, bringing hope and comfort to those facing loss.
— Jesus delivered us from the fear of death (Hebrews 2:15).
— Jesus took the sting out of death and robbed the grave of its victory (1 Corinthians 15:56).
— Resurrection miracles affirm the promise of eternal life for all believers.
— Jesus, who raised the dead, assures us of our future resurrection, underpinning the hope we have in Him.
— The power of resurrection demonstrates God’s supreme authority over life and death.
— The power of the resurrection gives eternal hope and it is a basic foundation for our faith. Paul said, “If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.” (1 Corinthians 15:13,14).
4. Deliverance miracles.
Jesus’ deliverance miracles, where He set free those oppressed by demonic forces, demonstrate His power over all spiritual darkness. These miracles offer comfort and hope, proving that Jesus has authority over sin and the devil, and can deliver us from any bondage, offering liberation and wholeness.
— Jesus is our liberator, freeing us from spiritual bondage and oppression.
— In Christ Jesus, we are set free!
— Deliverance miracles prove that no power of darkness can stand against the authority of Jesus.
— Through deliverance, Jesus renews our identity and destiny, showing us we are no longer slaves to sin but are children of God.
— Deliverance miracles encourage us to live in the freedom Christ has won for us, promising victory over sin and satan.
Each of these miracle categories underscores a different facet of Jesus’s character and power, and collectively they provide a comprehensive picture of a God who is deeply invested in our success. Jesus has control over circumstances, He was victorious over death, and He has power over spiritual darkness. This is a great reminder for us today.
Declaration of Faith:
Father, this is a season of refreshing and restoring for me!
I believe in the healing power of Jesus. Nothing is beyond His reach, and no disease is too great for His touch. I walk in divine health all the days of my life.
Jesus has authority over all creation. No situation in my life is beyond His control, and no storm is too strong for His calming word. I trust in Your power, Father.
I am certain of the resurrection power of Jesus. I believe He has defeated death. His victory over death underpins my faith and gives me confidence in my own resurrection. I have done all the dying I am going to do, and for me, dying is MOVING DAY, where I will graduate from earth to glory!
I declare that Jesus has the power to deliver us from all bondage and oppression. He breaks every chain! I declare that I am set free and victorious over sin and satan, in the powerful name of Jesus!
Living this way, I know GREATER IS COMING FOR ME! I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
