I enjoyed my time off, and I sincerely missed Today’s Word. I hope you did as well. But now it’s time to get back to it. I am very excited about 2024 and what the Lord has for us. Every Pastor needs a Pastor, so I am always keenly aware of what the Lord is saying through my spiritual parents, Pastors Tony and Cynthia Brazelton. On New Year’s Eve, the word they released over our church is that this would be a Year of Fixed Purpose. The scripture they are standing on is the following:
(Proverbs 4:25 TPT)
Set your gaze on the path before you. With fixed purpose, looking straight ahead, ignore life’s distractions.
As I have been praying about the theme or focus for our ministry for 2024, the Lord had me anchor in on the same scripture with this theme: The Year of Laser Focus.
Laser focus in 2024 means being resolute in our faith and unwavering in our pursuit of God’s plan for our lives. It’s about recognizing that while the world changes, God’s purposes for us remain unmovable. This year, let’s commit to this focus, not as a mere resolution but as a lifestyle, understanding that when we align our lives with God’s vision, we step into the fullness of what He has ordained for us. This is a year to prioritize spiritual clarity, discern our divine assignments, and pursue them with an unshakeable focus.
This year, I will be teaching you how to live with a laser focus on the fixed purpose God has for all of us in this season. Get used to Proverbs 4:25 because this will be a key scripture for our ministry this year.
As I prayed over how to start the year, I believe the Father wants me to show you 20 additional scriptures that flow in this vein and that will help us set the foundation for this year. I will share five of these scriptures today and five more in the days to come until we get through all 20. We will then take our time and break them down over the weeks to come. From there, we will endeavor to take a look at examples from scripture of people who lived their lives with a laser focus on the fixed purpose God established for them before the world began.
So, what does this mean to you today? Let’s take a look at the first five scriptures today as we begin to set the tone for the year.
1. God predestined you before you were born.
Jeremiah 1:5 (TPT)
I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.
– Recognize that your life has a specific purpose, predestined by God.
– God’s knowledge of you predates your existence, affirming the fact that your purpose is divinely ordained.
– Embrace the uniqueness of your calling, knowing it was established before you were born.
– Let this awareness drive your focus, guiding your decisions and actions.
2. You were chosen for such a time as this.
(Ephesians 1:4-5 ERV)
4 In Christ, he chose us before the world was made. He chose us in love to be his holy people–people who could stand before him without any fault.
5 And before the world was made, God decided to make us his own children through Jesus Christ. This was what God wanted, and it pleased him to do it.
– Your presence in 2024 is not coincidental but a part of God’s eternal plan.
– Acknowledge that you are chosen by God for this specific time and place.
– Understand that being chosen comes with a responsibility to live a life of holiness and purpose.
– Use this knowledge to stay focused on what truly matters, aligning your actions with God’s plan.
3. God has a plan for every day of your life.
(Psalm 139:16 MSG)
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you. The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.
– Each day carries a piece of God’s grand design, making no day insignificant.
– Accept that each day is an opportunity to live out God’s script for your life.
– Find comfort in the fact that God has a plan for every day, even in uncertainty.
– Use this script as a guide to maintain focus and direction.
4. God called you from the womb.
(Isaiah 49:1 TPT)
Listen to me, all you in distant lands! Pay attention, you who are far away! The Lord called me before my birth; from within the womb he called me by name.
– Your calling was established in the womb, marking your life with divine intention before you ever took one breath.
– Reflect on the reality that God’s call on your life began even before your birth.
– This divine calling (before you were born) underscores that every phase of life is significant in God’s plan.
– Recognizing this call should guide your actions and priorities as you attempt to fulfill your God-given potential.
5. You were created for good works.
(Ephesians 2:10 ERV)
God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us new people so that we would spend our lives doing the good things he had already planned for us to do.
– Realize that you are created for specific good works, planned in advance.
– These good works are not just actions but a manifestation of divine destiny.
– Seek to understand and embrace these works as part of your divine purpose.
– Let this purpose be the focal point of your daily life and decisions.
– As God’s masterpiece, your life is a canvas for displaying His good works.
Declaration of Faith:
Father, this year, I live with a laser focus on the fixed purpose You established for me before the world began.
I know I was predestined by You, known even before I was formed in my mother’s womb.
I am chosen for such a time as this; my presence in 2024 is part of Your eternal plan.
Every day of my life is part of Your grand design, and I will live each day with purpose and intention.
Father, You called me from the womb, and I commit to fulfilling the divine calling You have placed upon my life.
I am created for good works, and I will actively seek and embrace the tasks You have prepared for me.
In every decision and action, I will align myself with Your divine purpose, maintaining a laser focus on Your will.
I trust in Your unchanging plans, knowing they will guide me to my destiny in You.
Living this way, I know GREATER IS COMING for me because all I am doing is endeavoring to experience what You planned before the world began!
I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. AMEN!
This is Today’s Word. Apply it and prosper!
