Today, we continue our series entitled “Laser Focus,” with the point being that we should live with a Laser Focus on the Fixed Purpose God established for us before the world began.
This is the main scripture we will be looking at this year.
(Proverbs 4:25 TPT)
Set your gaze on the path before you. With fixed purpose, looking straight ahead, ignore life’s distractions.
Today we will add a new scripture to what we have been looking at.
(Isaiah 46:10,11 ERV)
10 In the beginning, I told you what would happen in the end. A long time ago, I told you things that have not happened yet. When I plan something, it happens. I do whatever I want to do.
11 I am calling a man from the east to do what I want. He will come like an eagle from a faraway country. He will do all that I have planned. Everything I said will happen just as I said it would.
So, what does this mean for you today? A few things.
Setting the Stage:
Today’s message draws us into the profound depths of Isaiah 46:10-11, where God declares His sovereign ability to announce the end from the beginning, ensuring us that His plans are immutable and unfailing. As we attempt to understand our place within God’s grand design, these verses invite us to meditate deeply on the reality that our lives are woven into the fabric of God’s eternal plan. This revelation is not merely for contemplation but for action, urging us to align ourselves with the divine trajectory God planned for our lives, setting our gaze on the path before us.
We find supernatural peace and assurance in grasping the magnitude of God’s foreknowledge and His inerrant purpose for our lives. It’s a comfort that transcends our understanding, anchoring us in the truth that even when our paths seem unclear, God knows what He planned and is dedicated to what He intended. This perspective helps us remain steadfast in our pursuit of God’s will, cutting through the noise and distractions of life with laser-like focus.
1. Understanding Our Divine Blueprint.
— You can find peace in knowing that God has sovereignty over time. Reflect on how God declares the end from the beginning, showcasing His sovereignty and the meticulous planning that went into your life.
— Here is something to consider: God has an eternal purpose in your temporary existence. You will find comfort and confidence in knowing that as your life is unfolding, it is a small part of God’s eternal plan. This thought will help you in times of uncertainty.
— Our goal should be to align with what God has assigned us to do. God’s omniscience tells us that He knows all things (past, present, and future). His omnipotence tells us that He has the power to enable us to do what He planned for us to do from the foundations of the world. The goal here is to take the spotlight and the pressure off of you!
— When you know your life is part of God’s eternal plan, you acknowledge that the life of faith is your attempt to provide ACTIVE participation in it. YOu are not passively going along for the ride. No! You are actively participating in the plans God made for you before you were born. You know you are a co-laborer with Christ.
— To remain on God’s preordained path, you must stay focused and ignore all distractions.
— Another thought that will give you peace is to remember that God’s timing is perfect. There is a song that says, “God may not come when you want Him, but He is always right on time.” Well, if you wanted Him to come when He did not, then your desire was misaligned. God’s timing is always perfect. He is never early or late.
2. The Assurance of God’s Unfailing Plan.
— You will have unshakable confidence when you believe God’s plans cannot be stopped. This is the foundation of our faith. You must be convinced that God’s plans and purposes will prevail (Prov 19:21).
— You can navigate life’s uncertainties when you keep your focus on the one who is always certain: God Himself.
— You can find peace in God’s call on your life. When you are convinced that your steps are ordered, you will have a peace that cannot be shaken. This peace comes from understanding that our journey is not random but meticulously planned by God.
— Respond to God’s calling with a heart ready for obedience and a spirit filled with anticipation. Embrace the adventure of faith, knowing that God’s plans for you are good and filled with hope.
— Recognize the eternal impact of fulfilling the assignments God has for you. Your participation in God’s plan carries significance beyond the here and now, shaping not just your destiny but those around you.
— Standing firm against laziness and complacency. Resist the temptation to settle for less than God’s best for you. Pursue His higher calling with diligence, knowing that complacency is the enemy of divine fulfillment.
3. You Must Actively Participate in God’s Eternal Plan.
— Grasp the truth that we each have a distinct part to play in God’s grand story, a role that not only aligns with His eternal plans but also highlights His glory through our lives. We have a unique role, and we need to play it.
— Discipline and focus are required. Leading a life disciplined in spiritual growth and alignment with God’s purposes is paramount. This ensures that we aren’t derailed by the temporary but remain committed to our divine assignments when things happen that we did not expect and/or desire.
— Go from being an observer to a participant. Shift from merely watching God’s work unfold to being active players. Embrace the actionable aspect of our faith, showing God’s love and might in practical, impactful ways.
— Know that God did not remove all of the challenges from the story. Welcome the growth and challenges that accompany the pursuit of God’s plan, understanding they are the crucibles in which our development and depth are forged.
— Make a commitment to celebrate each part of the journey. It’s important to acknowledge every progress point in our walk with God, seeing perseverance through trials as an attribute of our faith and commitment.
— Know that as you are committed to living your part of God’s story, you will leave a legacy of righteousness that will impact your children and your children’s children. Long after you are gone and in heaven, your name will hold weight on this planet because you submitted to your role, and you played your part in God’s story for this world!
