The Grace For Implementation

by Rick

Today we continue our series entitled “Living the Grace Life,” where we will learn to embrace and walk in God’s unmerited, unearned, and often undeserved favor throughout 2025.

Key scriptures for this year:

2 Corinthians? ?9?:?8? ?TPT??

“Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything—every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.”

??

??Galatians? ?5?:?4? ?TPT??

“If you want to be made right with God by fulfilling the obligations of the law, you have cut off more than your flesh—you have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from the revelation of grace!”

Romans? ?6?:?14? ?ERV??

“Sin will not be your master, because you are not under law. You now live under God’s grace.”

??

1 Corinthians? ?15?:?10? ?NIV??

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.”

Joshua 1:8 NIV

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

Setting the Stage:

In our journey through “Living the Grace Life,” we’ve seen how Joseph received divine insight to interpret dreams and articulate complex strategies with remarkable clarity.  However, a vision without implementation is nothing but a good idea, and there are plenty of good ideas.

Many believers, churches, and businesses fail not because they lack vision but because they lack disciplined execution. You can have the most inspiring vision statement on your wall, but without operational excellence, that vision will never become reality.  This holds true whether you’re leading a global corporation, a growing ministry, or just stewarding your calling.

After interpreting Pharaoh’s dreams and outlining a fourteen-year economic plan, Joseph didn’t simply hand over the blueprint and walk away. Scripture tells us that “Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from Pharaoh’s presence and traveled throughout Egypt” (Genesis 41:46). For the next fourteen years, Joseph tirelessly executed the strategy, building storehouses, gathering food during seven years of abundance, and distributing it during seven years of famine.

This aspect of God’s grace (the grace for implementation) takes divine strategies from concepts into realities.  It is the practical power to take what God has revealed and bring it to fruition in the natural world. Let’s talk about it.

So, what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

1. Grace Empowers Disciplined, Consistent Action Over The Long Haul.

Joseph’s implementation wasn’t a short-term sprint; it was a fourteen-year marathon requiring sustained discipline and focus.  The grace for implementation isn’t just about getting started; it’s about executing with discipline, without getting fatigued, until the project is over.

How this applies to you:

— Many believers experience the initial excitement of divine revelation but struggle with the day-to-day discipline required for successful implementation. In other words, many believers today get excited when they hear a WORD from God in church or in their prayer closet. They tell their friends about it, and they may even post it on social media.  But if that vision is not coupled with focused, consistent, and disciplined action, then the person who received it is going to get to heaven, only to realize WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED had they embraced the grace to EXECUTE!

— Joseph faced the challenge of maintaining momentum during seven years of abundance when the urgency wasn’t apparent.  Similarly, grace empowers you to remain disciplined even when external circumstances don’t create pressure or urgency. Because you know what’s coming next, you prepare for it now.

— Consistent implementation requires both motivation and strength. The good news is that God’s grace can give you both. As Paul wrote, “God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him” (Philippians 2:13).  Notice that grace gives both desire (motivation) and power (ability).

— God’s grace for implementation was on Joseph.  This is what enabled him to overcome the natural human tendency toward inconsistency. When you’re operating in this dimension of grace, you’ll find yourself able to maintain discipline that would have been impossible through mere willpower or determination.  This grace is on my life for Today’s Word. Without this grace, I could not be consistent enough to get up five days a week and do this for over 27 years straight.  This is not human ability or willpower.  This is grace!

— Joseph had to implement systems that would outlast all the changes in leadership, economic conditions, weather, agricultural output, and everything else.  God’s grace can enable you to develop implementation strategies that are agile enough to withstand changing circumstances and unforeseen challenges.

— Many promising projects fail, not because the strategy was flawed, but because the implementation was inconsistent.  Inconsistent execution has caused many leaders to abandon a project prematurely, simply out of frustration.  But thankfully, God’s grace can empower you to endure long enough to SEE what God SAID come to pass!

— Living in THE GRACE LIFE means you’re not relying on your own discipline or willpower. You’re tapping into God’s divine empowerment (grace) that enables you to maintain consistency while everyone around you is quitting. Paul understood this when he wrote, “I worked harder than all of them–yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me” (1 Corinthians 15:10).

2. Grace Provides Supernatural Competence For Complex Implementation.

Joseph’s project (THE JOSEPH PLAN) was enormously complex, requiring agricultural knowledge, logistics expertise, architectural planning, inventory management, and financial systems.  Yet Scripture records that he executed it flawlessly, saving not only Egypt but the surrounding nations.

How this applies to you:

God doesn’t just give you a vision; He equips you with the competence to implement it. Like Bezalel, whom God filled “with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills” (Exodus 31:3), grace provides both the insight and the practical skills needed for excellent execution.

— Joseph likely had no formal training in large-scale food storage, distribution systems, or economic planning, yet he implemented one of history’s most successful Public Works projects at a national scale. Why? Because grace fills the gaps in your experience, education, or natural ability. Where your power ends, God’s power and wisdom kick in.

— Joseph needed to understand everything from agriculture to architecture, from logistics to leadership. Grace gives you the ability to learn and master things you were trained in and things you were not. You can become a master or multiple disciplines when you yield to God’s grace.

— Grace-empowered implementation doesn’t mean you won’t need to learn new skills or acquire knowledge–it means you’ll have supernatural ability to do so. Joseph surely studied Egyptian agricultural practices, construction techniques, and administrative systems. But grace accelerated and amplified his learning process.  This is what we call “divine downloads” today, where God imparts wisdom and understanding that would normally take years or decades to develop.

— Living in THE GRACE LIFE means you’re not limited by your past training or experience. God can give you competence in areas where you have no background, positioning you to implement projects that would normally require expertise you don’t possess.

— Even in areas where you have skills, grace supernaturally enhances your competence beyond natural levels.

— Joseph didn’t need to know everything about implementation before he started. He received the competence he needed when he needed it.  This reminds me of something I learned from Bishop Richard Peoples, Sir.  He said, “Son, God can do more with you, once you get started.”  To which, I add, you can analyze, theorize, strategize, and hypothesize, all you want.  But at some point, you have to DO SOMETHING. God will give you the insight AS YOU GO!

3. Implementation Grace Requires A Spirit of Excellence.

While grace is unearned and unmerited, it manifests through a commitment to excellence. Joseph’s implementation wasn’t just sufficient; it was exceptional.  This spirit of excellence is God’s standard.

How this applies to you:

— Grace doesn’t lower standards; it raises them. When you’re operating in implementation grace, mediocrity becomes unacceptable. You find yourself pursuing excellence not from fear or performance-based thinking, but from the overflow of God’s grace working in you.

— Joseph didn’t just store grain; he built a sophisticated system that preserved Egypt and surrounding nations for seven years.  Grace empowers you to go beyond the minimally acceptable to the truly excellent.

— Excellence in implementation doesn’t come from perfectionism or self-effort; it flows from the grace of God. Colossians 3:23-24 instructs us, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

— Joseph’s excellence in implementation wasn’t merely a reflection of his character; it was a manifestation of God’s grace working through him. When you operate in God’s grace, excellence becomes your natural standard.

— The spirit of excellence that accompanies implementation grace includes attention to detail. Joseph didn’t just focus on the broad strategy; he attended to the countless details necessary for successful execution.  Grace gives you the capacity to manage both the strategic vision and the tactical details.

— Many churches and businesses fail because they tolerate operational mediocrity while focusing exclusively on vision.  When you’re living THE GRACE LIFE, excellence in implementation (or what is known today as operational excellence) becomes as important as clarity of vision. Both are manifestations of God’s grace working in your life.

Declaration of Faith:

Father, I thank You for the grace of to implement the vision You have deposited in my heart.

I declare that by Your grace, I maintain disciplined, consistent action over the long haul.

I receive Your grace that provides me with competence beyond my natural abilities, equipping me with whatever skills and knowledge I need for excellent execution.

I embrace the spirit of excellence that accompanies Your grace, refusing to settle for mediocrity in any aspect of execution.

I am living THE GRACE LIFE in 2025, empowered to implement Your divine

strategies with excellence and impact!  Therefore, GREATER IS COMING FOR ME!

I declare this by faith, in Jesus’ name. Amen!

This is Today’s Word! Apply it and prosper!
