Grace in Galatians (Part 45): How Jesus’ Character Becomes Your Character

by Rick

Today, we continue our series entitled “Living the Grace Life,” where we will learn to embrace and walk in God’s unmerited, unearned, and often undeserved favor throughout 2025.

As part of this series, I am teaching a verse-by-verse exposition of the book of Galatians. Today, we’re building on our last two messages as we dive deeper into the most life-changing verse in Scripture—focusing specifically on what happens when Jesus literally dispenses His life into yours.

Key scriptures for this year:

2 Corinthians 9:8 TPT
“Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything—every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.”

Galatians 5:4 TPT
“If you want to be made right with God by fulfilling the obligations of the law, you have cut off more than your flesh—you have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from the revelation of grace!”

Romans 6:14 ERV
“Sin will not be your master, because you are not under law. You now live under God’s grace.”

1 Corinthians 15:10 NIV
“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.”

Scripture(s) we will study today:

Galatians 2:20 TPT

“My old identity has been crucified with Christ and no longer lives. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me—we live in union with him! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God, who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, dispensing his life into mine!”

2 Corinthians 5:17 TPT

“Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new person. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new.”

Philippians 2:13 TPT

“God will continually revitalize you, implanting within you the passion and power to fulfill his pleasing and perfect will.”

Setting the Stage:

In our last two messages, we’ve been unpacking Galatians 2:20. We’ve seen how loving God literally kills our old identity, and we’ve discovered what happens when Jesus’ success becomes our success. Today, I want you to focus on this statement at the end of the verse: “the faith of the Son of God, who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, dispensing his life into mine!”

Here’s what many believers miss: when you got Born-Again, you didn’t just receive forgiveness for your sins. You didn’t just get a ticket to heaven. You became the recipient of an ongoing impartation, where Jesus Himself is continuously pouring His very life into yours.

Think about this: before you got saved, you came to God as a person with your own plans, ambitions, desires, limitations, fears, and weaknesses. But the moment you were Born-Again, something supernatural began happening. Jesus started dispensing (literally pouring out) His life into your life. You’re not trying to be more like Jesus through willpower or religious effort. Jesus Himself is pouring His very nature into your nature, transforming you from the inside out. This is #TheGraceLife. Let’s talk about it.

So, what does this mean to you today? A few things.

1. Jesus Dispenses His Character Into Your Character.

Paul reveals: “Dispensing his life into mine!” This means Jesus is literally pouring His character, His moral nature, His integrity, and His godly attributes into your character development.

How this applies to you:

You don’t have to struggle to develop godly character traits like patience, love, or peace. These are fruit (of the Spirit) that are naturally produced in your heart when you walk with God.

— Jesus is dispensing His character into your character every single day. Your unique personality remains intact, but your character is being conformed to His image and likeness.

— Instead of reacting from your old character patterns (anger, fear, defensiveness), you find yourself responding from Jesus’ character (love, wisdom, grace) flowing through your unique personality. This happens over time, as you yield to Jesus and He dispenses His life into yours.

People notice there’s something different about your character, but they can’t put their finger on it. What they’re seeing is Jesus’ character being dispensed through your distinct personality. You’re becoming a walking, talking expression of Christ’s character through your personality.

— As you walk with God daily, your character tendencies toward worry, anger, jealousy, or discouragement are being replaced by Jesus’ character qualities of faith, peace, love, and hope. This isn’t you trying harder to have good character. This is Jesus literally transforming your character from the inside out while using your personality.

— Over time, as Jesus pours His life into yours, you surprise yourself over and over. You experience Christ-like peace in chaotic situations, and you offer supernatural love to people who used to irritate you. This is Jesus dispensing His character into yours in real time.

2. Jesus Dispenses His Wisdom Into Your Decision-Making.

Gal 2:20 TPT says, “the Anointed One lives his life through me.” This means Jesus is dispensing His perfect wisdom into every decision you need to make.

1 Corinthians 1:30 NIV

“It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God. That is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.”

How this applies to you:

— Jesus has perfect wisdom in every situation and the text says that He has become, for us, “wisdom from God.” This means you have direct access to perfect wisdom for life choices, daily workplace challenges, or anything else. Jesus is dispensing His insight and understanding directly into your mind and heart.

Your decision-making process becomes supernatural. Instead of relying only on your education, experience, or logic, you have access to Jesus’ unlimited wisdom and perfect understanding of every situation.

You begin to see opportunities that others miss and make decisions that prove to be divinely inspired. This isn’t luck or coincidence. This is Jesus dispensing His wisdom into your thinking process.

Complex problems become simple because you’re seeing from Jesus’ perspective. What looks impossible to others becomes possible to you because Jesus’ problem-solving ability is being dispensed into your heart and mind.

Your timing becomes supernaturally accurate. You know when to speak and when to be quiet, when to act and when to wait, when to push forward and when to step back. This is Jesus dispensing His perfect timing into your life.

You make financial decisions that reflect both faith and wisdom. Jesus’ wisdom about money and stewardship is being dispensed into your understanding.

People start coming to you for advice because they recognize there’s something different about your perspective. What they’re receiving is Jesus’ wisdom being dispensed through your counsel.

3. Jesus Dispenses His Power Into Your Limitations.

Paul declares: “My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God.” This means Jesus is dispensing His unlimited power into the areas where you feel limited or weak.

How this applies to you:

— Once you are in Christ and Christ is in you, the natural limitations of your humanity are no longer the ceiling of your potential. Where you used to be weak, Jesus dispenses His strength. Where you used to lack ability, Jesus dispenses His capability.

— Over time, people realize (and you do too) that you are able to accomplish things that exceed your natural qualifications. What you are able to get done will not make sense to people. I am a witness and an example of this. This isn’t about working harder or trying to be somebody you’re not. This is about Jesus dispensing His power and ability into your assignment.

— When you are led by the Holy Spirit, things that would have caused physical exhaustion, emotional drain, and mental fatigue are no longer exhausting to you. While you are doing them, you have supernatural renewal from the inside out. Even when you feel like you can’t go any further, Jesus infuses your heart and mind with fresh energy, emotional strength, and mental clarity. This is the manifestation of God’s grace in action.

Your capacity for work, ministry, relationships, and leadership expands beyond what you thought possible. This is Jesus dispensing His unlimited capacity into your limited human vessel.

— You approach difficulties with confidence because you know His strength is being dispensed into your weakness. Challenges that used to overwhelm seem like “light work” now, becuase you are not the one doing it. Jesus is living through you!

— You take on assignments, start projects, and pursue goals that your old nature would have considered impossible. Why? Because Jesus’ “all things are possible” nature is being dispensed into your belief system, and your faith is infused with His faith! Your capacity to believe God is expanded as you learn to live by Jesus’ faith!

4. Jesus Dispenses His Love Into Your Relationships.

The verse concludes with: “Who loves me so much that he gave himself for me.” This personal love becomes the foundation for how Jesus dispenses His love through you to others.

How this applies to you:

Your capacity to love difficult people increases supernaturally. Why? Jesus is dispensing His unconditional love into your heart for people who used to frustrate, irritate, and anger you.

Your relationships transform because you’re relating to people from Jesus’ heart, not just your human emotions. His compassion, patience, and understanding are being dispensed into how you interact with family, coworkers, and even strangers.

— When people spend time with you, they feel better about themselves because Jesus’ love and acceptance are being dispensed through your presence.

Your ability to forgive becomes supernatural. Instead of holding grudges or staying bitter, Jesus’ forgiveness and grace are dispensed into your heart, allowing you to release people and situations quickly.

You create positive environments wherever you go. Whether it’s your home, your workplace, or your community involvement, Jesus’ peace and joy are being dispensed through your presence, making things better for everyone around you.

— Your marriage, parenting, friendships, and professional relationships all improve because Jesus’ relational wisdom and love are being dispensed into how you connect with people. You’re not trying to be a better spouse, parent, or friend. Jesus’ nature as the perfect person is being poured into your heart, and it manifests in your relationships.

— Over time, you are conformed into the image and likeness of Jesus Himself, so when people come in contact with you, they come in contact with Him!

That’s enough for today.

Declaration of Faith:

Father, I thank You that Jesus is dispensing His life into mine every single day!

I declare that Jesus’ character is being poured into my character, transforming me from the inside out while keeping my unique personality intact.

Jesus’ wisdom is being dispensed into every decision I need to make, giving me supernatural insight and understanding.

Jesus’ power is being dispensed into my limitations, turning my weaknesses into strengths.

Jesus’ love is being dispensed into my relationships, transforming how I connect with people.

As I walk with You, I am being changed to be more like You day by day!

I am not conformed to this world. I am being constantly transformed as Jesus’ life flows into and through every area of my life!

I am living #TheGraceLife, and GREATER IS COMING FOR ME!

I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

This is Today’s Word! Apply it and Prosper!
