Today, we continue our series entitled “Living the Grace Life,” where we will learn to embrace and walk in God’s unmerited, unearned, and often undeserved favor throughout 2025.
As part of this series, I am teaching a verse-by-verse exposition of the book of Galatians.
Key scriptures for this year:
2 Corinthians 9:8 TPT
“Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything–every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.”
Galatians 5:4 TPT
“If you want to be made right with God by fulfilling the obligations of the law, you have cut off more than your flesh–you have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from the revelation of grace!”
Romans 6:14 ERV
“Sin will not be your master, because you are not under law. You now live under God’s grace.”
1 Corinthians 15:10 CEV
“But God treated me with undeserved grace! He made me what I am, and his grace wasn’t wasted. I worked much harder than any of the other apostles, although it was really God’s grace at work and not me.”
Scripture(s) we will study today:
Galatians 3:7 TPT
“Faith, then, is what makes the children of Abraham.”
Galatians 3:7 NIV
“Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham.”
Ephesians 3:15 TPT
“Every family in heaven and throughout the earth receives its true name from him.”
1 John 3:1 TPT
“Look with wonder at the depth of the Father’s marvelous love that he has lavished on us! He has called us and made us his very own beloved children.”
Galatians 3:28 TPT
“We are no longer Jews or Greeks or slaves or free men or even merely men or women, but we’re all the same–we’re Christians; we’re the ones chosen in Christ Jesus.”
Setting the Stage:
Yesterday, we discovered that faith makes you a child of Abraham, not your bloodline or religious performance. Today I want to take you even deeper into this truth. You see, when Paul says “Faith, then, is what makes the children of Abraham,” he’s not just talking about individual salvation. He’s revealing something that would have absolutely shocked the religious world of his day: Faith creates a family that transcends every human barrier and lasts for eternity!
Think about this: Abraham lived 4,000 years ago, but through faith, you are connected to him right now. Through faith, you’re connected to believers in China, Nigeria, Brazil, and every nation on earth. Through faith, you’re connected to Peter, Paul, David, Moses, and every believer who has ever lived. Faith doesn’t just make you righteous; faith makes you family!
The Jewish religious leaders of Paul’s day thought that God’s family was small, exclusive, and limited to their bloodline. But Paul is showing them that God’s family is vast, inclusive, and connected by something more potent than blood: faith!
So what does this mean to you today? A few things.
1. Faith Makes You Part of the Greatest Family in History – God’s Family!
When Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness, he didn’t just become righteous; he became the father of the greatest family in human history! Every person who has ever exercised faith in God becomes part of Abraham’s spiritual lineage. This family includes heroes of the faith, martyrs, apostles, everyday believers, and YOU!
How this applies to you:
— Your birth certificate is proof that you are part of your earthly family, but your faith certificate serves as your adoption papers into God’s family. You’re not just a believer; you’re Abraham’s child, which makes you part of a family that includes some of the most influential people in history.
— The family of faith is the only family that gets bigger and stronger with each generation. Natural families often struggle to pass on their legacy from generation to generation, but the family of faith gains power, wisdom, and influence as more people join through faith.
— No matter what natural family you were born into, do you realize the power of the family you were born into? You’re connected to believers who faced lions, crossed Red Seas, raised the dead, and changed the world. The same faith DNA that was in them runs through your spiritual bloodline. When you face impossible situations, you’re not facing them alone; you have thousands of years of faith victories backing you up! You have what the Bible calls “a great cloud of witnesses” cheering you on as you run your race.
— The early church was shocked when they realized that faith made Jews and Gentiles part of the same family. Today, faith makes people from every race, nation, language, and culture part of one eternal family. Your spiritual siblings span the globe!
— When you meet another believer, you’re not just meeting a fellow Christian; you’re meeting a family member who shares your spiritual DNA. This creates an instant bond that transcends every natural barrier.
2. Faith Breaks Down Every Wall That Religion Builds Up.
Paul makes it clear in Galatians 3:28 that faith eliminates every division that the world and religion create. “We are no longer Jews or Greeks or slaves or free men or even merely men or women, but we’re all the same. We’re Christians; we’re the ones chosen in Christ Jesus.” Faith creates unity where religion creates division!
How this applies to you:
— Every time religion says, “You can’t fellowship with them because they’re
different,” faith says, “They’re family because they believe.” Faith looks for what connects us; religion looks for what separates us.
— Religion looks for differences and focuses on the differences. Faith says, “We have too much in common to be uncommon with one another.”
— The religious leaders couldn’t eat with Gentiles, much less worship with them. But Paul says if both groups have faith, they’re both Abraham’s children, which makes them family! Faith removes barriers that tradition builds.
— Faith makes a billionaire CEO and a homeless person equal members of the same family if they both believe. Social status, education, wealth, and position mean nothing in the family of faith. Only faith matters.
— When you operate in faith rather than religious tradition, you begin to see other believers the way God sees them: as your spiritual brothers and sisters. This changes how you treat people, speak about them, and relate to them.
— The family of faith is the most diverse family on earth, yet the most unified family in heaven. We’re different in every natural way but one in every spiritual way. This is only possible through faith!
— Religion divides people by rules, rituals, and traditions. Faith unites people through believing in the same God and His promises. When you choose to operate by faith, you’re choosing unity over division.
— I have a heart for unity, because (at least in the United States) there is a strong emphasis on the Black Church vs. the White Church. This grieves me, and it grieves God. Even naturally speaking, I am neither Black nor White, so where am I supposed to go to church? It should not be this way. Faith unites us. We are ALL ONE in Christ!
3. Faith Gives You Access to Generational Blessings and Authority.
Being Abraham’s child through faith isn’t just about spiritual connection. It gives you access to generational blessings, authority, and influence that have been building for 4,000 years! Every generation of faith has been depositing blessings into the family account, and your faith gives you access to make withdrawals!
How this applies to you:
— The Kingdom of God is always advancing. This means that the prayers of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Moses, Paul, and countless believers throughout history created a generational blessing account that your faith can access. You’re not starting from zero; you’re building on 4,000 years of accumulated faith victories!
— When you pray in faith, you’re not just exercising your individual faith; you’re tapping into the collective faith of the entire family of Abraham. This gives your prayers generational weight and authority that moves mountains!
— Abraham was promised that his descendants would be blessed and be a blessing to nations. Through faith, you are his descendant, which means you carry both the blessing and the responsibility to bless nations. Your faith has a global impact! This is why our ministry does what we are called to do overseas and through Today’s Word. What God has called us to do is both a blessing and a mandate. You can say the same thing.
— The family of faith has been building wisdom, influence, and authority for millennia. Your faith connects you to this generational accumulation of blessing.
— Abraham’s seed was promised to be as numerous as the stars and to possess the gates of their enemies. Through faith in Christ, you ARE Abraham’s seed, which means you have authority and the responsibility to advance the Kingdom even further. And God has given you the spiritual power to overcome every enemy that comes against God’s family!
— When the devil fights you, he’s not just fighting an individual believer; he’s fighting someone who is part of a family with thousands of years of faith backing them up. Your faith gives you access to your spiritual bloodline!
4. Faith Activates What Religion Only Talks About.
Here’s what’s powerful: Religion talks about being blessed, but faith activates the blessing. Religion talks about being Abraham’s descendants, but faith makes you being a child of Abraham your present reality.
How this applies to you:
— Religion gives you information about Abraham; faith gives you identification with Abraham. There’s a massive difference between knowing about Abraham’s blessings and accessing Abraham’s blessings. Faith turns knowledge into experience! This is true for THE Blessing of Abraham and THE Blessing of Jesus! We are not just studying these things, we are LIVING THEM OUT!
— Your faith doesn’t just make you a student of Abraham’s story, which is God’s story; it makes you a participant in Abraham’s inheritance, which is God’s inheritance for you. Everything God promised to Abraham becomes available to you through faith. You’re not reading about the blessing, you’re receiving the blessing!
— The religious leaders knew all about Abraham’s promises, but they could not access THE Blessing. Why? Because they were focused on the Law and not faith. Faith is the activation key that unlocks what religious performance can never touch. Which system are you operating in?
— When you exercise faith like Abraham did, you don’t just get saved–you get access to the same blessing, protection, and provision that followed Abraham everywhere he went. Faith activates the full package, not just the spiritual part!
— Religious people can quote Abraham’s story perfectly, but still live in defeat because they’re trying to access by works what can only be activated by faith. Knowledge without activation is just religious entertainment.
— Faith turns promises into possessions, potential into reality, and prophecy into personal experience.
Listen, I need you to understand something powerful before we close today: Faith doesn’t make you a lonely individual believer struggling to make it to heaven. Faith makes you part of the most powerful, connected, blessed, and influential family in the universe!
You have spiritual siblings all over the world. You have generational blessings available to you. You have family authority that demons recognize. And you have an eternal inheritance that’s being prepared for you right now. Stop living like an orphan when faith has made you Abraham’s child and an heir according to THE promise!
That’s enough for today.
Declaration of Faith:
Father, I thank You that faith makes me part of Abraham’s eternal family!
I am connected to 4,000 years of faith victories and generational blessings.
My faith breaks down every wall and unites me with believers around the world.
I have access to generational authority that has been building for millennia.
Every believer I meet is my spiritual family member through faith.
I am not an individual struggling alone; I am part of the greatest family in history.
My faith today creates generational blessings for my natural and spiritual descendants.
I am Abraham’s seed, an heir according to THE promise, with eternal purpose and position.
I am Living #TheGraceLife and GREATER IS COMING FOR ME because I’m part of God’s eternal family plan!
I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
