Today, we continue our series entitled “Laser Focus,” emphasizing living with a Laser Focus on the Fixed Purpose God established for us before the world began.
(Proverbs 4:25 TPT)
Set your gaze on the path before you. With fixed purpose, looking straight ahead, ignore life’s distractions.
Scriptures for today:
(James 1:2-4 TPT)
2 My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can!
3 For you know that when your faith is tested, it stirs up power within you to endure all things.
4 And then as your endurance grows even stronger it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking.
(Ecc 3:1 ERV)
There is a right time for everything, and everything on earth will happen at the right time
(Genesis 50:20,21 NKJV)
20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
21 Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.
So, what does this mean for you today? A few things:
1. The Power of Dreams and Vision.
Joseph’s dreams were a central part of his journey and destiny. I have told you a great deal about the importance of God-given dreams and visions. Joseph’s dreams guided him and gave him a vision for his future, which he held onto despite considerable challenges and setbacks.
How this applies to you:
— Hold onto the dreams and visions God has given you, trusting He will bring them to pass. He is not a man, and He cannot lie!
— Let your God-given vision keep you focused and motivated, even when facing trials and difficulties.
— Believe that God’s plans for you are good and filled with hope and a future.
— Understand that your dreams are a source of divine direction and inspiration.
— God is looking for you to “Set your gaze on the path before you. With fixed purpose, looking straight ahead, ignore life’s distractions.” (Prov 4:25 TPT).
2. God is Always with Us, Even in Our Darkest Times.
Joseph’s journey from the pit to the palace was filled with dark moments, but God was always with him, providing guidance and support. The Bible actually spells out how God was with him in Potiphar’s house and in prison. This is a reminder that God is always with us.
How this applies to you:
— God never promised the journey would be easy. He just promised to be with us every step of the way!
— Remember that God never abandons you, even when you feel most alone.
— Trust that God’s presence is constant. You especially need this reminder during tough times.
— Embrace the peace that comes from knowing God is with you in every situation.
— Let Joseph’s story remind you that God’s presence is a source of strength and comfort in the darkest times.
— Rest in knowing that God will never leave you, forsake you, turn His back on you, or relax the grip that He has on you. Not to any degree! God will never leave you without support!
3. God Can Turn What is Meant for Evil into Something Good.
Despite the harmful intentions of Joseph’s brothers, God used those very circumstances to save many lives (including the men who did him wrong), showcasing His ability to transform evil into good.
How this applies to you:
— Joseph’s brothers did what they did with an intent to harm. What they did was evil, but God turned it around for good and used those events to save many lives.
— Believe that God can transform negative situations into opportunities for good.
— Trust that no matter what others intend, God’s plan for your life will prevail.
— Embrace the belief that God can use every situation for your ultimate benefit and His glory.
— Let go of fear and anxiety, knowing that God can turn your worst moments into blessings.
— Reflect on past experiences where God has turned things around for your good.
— Stay positive and hopeful, expecting God’s goodness to manifest even in difficult circumstances.
4. Our Faithfulness and Obedience are Crucial, Regardless of Our Circumstances.
Joseph’s unwavering faithfulness and obedience to God, regardless of his circumstances, serve as a powerful example of the importance of staying committed to God’s will. God is looking for faith, patience, and consistency.
How this applies to you:
— Joseph remained faithful and obedient to God, no matter where he was or what he faced.
— Stand firm in your faith, maintaining your commitment to God’s will in every situation.
— Trust that obedience to God, even when it’s hard, opens the door to blessings and favor.
— Remember that faithfulness is not dependent on circumstances but on your relationship with God.
— Be encouraged by Joseph’s example to persevere in faith and integrity.
— Know that your obedience and faithfulness are seen and rewarded by God.
5. God Expects Recipients of Grace To Become Conduits of Grace.
Forgiveness and grace are key and central to living your life as a citizen of God’s Kingdom. Joseph’s forgiveness of his brothers, despite their betrayal, showed the heart of God, and it led to healing and restoration within his family.
How this applies to you:
— Just as Joseph forgave his brothers, leading to healing within his family, you are called to forgive those who have wronged you, reflecting God’s grace and mercy.
— Let go of grudges and past hurts, choosing to forgive and release bitterness, allowing God’s grace to flow through you.
— God wants you to actively seek reconciliation in your relationships, embodying God’s love and grace through your actions and words.
— Embrace the profound healing that comes from both giving and receiving forgiveness, experiencing God’s restorative power.
— Use Joseph’s story as a model, becoming an extender of grace and mercy to others, showing the world the amazing power of God’s love.
— Remember that forgiveness is a vital part of your spiritual development. It leads to inner peace and becoming a conduit of God’s abundant grace and mercy.
