Accepted, Redeemed, and Walking in Divine Wisdom

by Rick

Today we continue our series entitled “Living the Grace Life,” where we will learn to embrace and walk in God’s unmerited, unearned, and often undeserved favor throughout 2025.

Key scriptures for this year:

2 Corinthians? ?9?:?8? ?TPT??

“Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything —every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.”

??

??Galatians? ?5?:?4? ?TPT??

“If you want to be made right with God by fulfilling the obligations of the law, you have cut off more than your flesh—you have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from the revelation of grace!”

Romans? ?6?:?14? ?ERV??

“Sin will not be your master, because you are not under law. You now live under God’s grace.”

??

1 Corinthians? ?15?:?10? ?CEV??

“But God treated me with undeserved grace! He made me what I am, and his grace wasn’t wasted. I worked much harder than any of the other apostles, although it was really God’s grace at work and not me.”

??2 Corinthians? ?12?:?9? ?ERV??

“But the Lord said, “My grace is all you need. Only when you are weak can everything be done completely by my power.” So I will gladly boast about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can stay in me.”

Scripture for today:

(Ephesians 1:6-8 NKJV)

“To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence.”

Setting the stage:

When Paul wrote to the Ephesians about God’s grace, he wasn’t just sharing theological concepts. He was revealing the divine sequence of how grace operates in our lives. First, we learn that Jesus redeemed us through His blood – this was done for everyone everywhere. Then, those who receive this redemption become “accepted in the Beloved” and adopted into God’s family. Finally, as redeemed and adopted children, God’s grace teaches us to walk in wisdom and prudence. And through it all, His grace abounds toward us – flowing freely, abundantly, and overwhelmingly in every area of our lives. Understanding this sequence helps us realize that while God’s grace provides everything, we must receive what He provides by faith.

So, what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

1. Grace Brings Complete Redemption.

Paul tells us that “In Him we have redemption through His blood.”  Notice the present tense – we HAVE redemption. Not “will have” or “might have,” but HAVE. This redemption is complete, comprehensive, and current. Through the blood of Jesus, God has already redeemed you from the power of sin and the string of death – both of the things Adam introduced into the world when he sinned.

The word “redemption” in our text comes from a Greek word that means “a release effected by payment of ransom.” It carries the idea of being bought back from slavery or captivity. In ancient times, if someone couldn’t pay their debts, they could be sold into slavery. A kinsman redeemer could come and pay the price to buy them back – to redeem them.  This is exactly what Jesus did for us. We were slaves to sin, susceptible to the fear of death, and bound by the debt of our transgressions, but Jesus paid the full price with His own blood to buy us back. He is our Kinsman Redeemer. He paid for us with His own blood, and now we are FREE!

How this applies to you:

— Your redemption is already complete in Christ.

— The blood of Jesus has settled every debt.

— You don’t have to earn your redemption; Jesus paid for it.

— Your past is redeemed, your present is redeemed, and your future is secure.

— God’s redemption covers every area of your life.

— You can walk in freedom because you’ve been bought with a price.

— The same blood that saved you empowers you to live victoriously.

— Jesus died for you. The proper response (once you believe and receive that) is to live for Him!

— Jesus paid a price we could not pay for a debt He did not owe. That’s amazing grace!

2. Grace Makes Us Accepted and Adopted – When We Receive It By Faith.

While Jesus’ blood provided redemption for everyone everywhere, we must receive this redemption to experience being “accepted in the Beloved.” When we do, something amazing happens – we’re not just accepted, we’re adopted!  The Bible says we receive “the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father‘” (Romans 8:15).

Think of it like this: God has already provided salvation, acceptance, and adoption for every person on earth, but like any gift, it must be received to be experienced

When you accept Jesus as Lord, you receive both your acceptance in Him and your adoption into God’s family.  This means you’re not just forgiven – you’re family! This acceptance and adoption aren’t based on your performance, your past, or your potential – they’re based purely on your reception of what Jesus already provided.

How this applies to you:

— God’s acceptance and adoption are freely offered to all but must be personally received.

— Your acceptance makes you righteous; your adoption makes you family.

— Once received, you have all the rights and privileges of a child of God.

— You can call God “Abba Father” because you’re His child, not just His creation.

— Once you are Born-Again, you are not a slave or a servant. You are a son!

— Your past mistakes don’t affect your acceptance or your adoption in Christ.

— You can rest in knowing you’re not just accepted – you’re an heir of God and a join-heir with Christ Himself.

— Living as God’s child changes how you approach everything in life.

— God does not want you to pray to Him like He is a distant God. He wants you to approach Him like He is your Heavenly Father. Because He is.

3. Grace Abounds with Wisdom and Prudence.

Once you are redeemed and have received your acceptance and adoption in Christ, our text tells us that God’s grace abounds toward us “in all wisdom and prudence.” While wisdom represents divine insight and understanding, prudence speaks of practical application. The Greek word for prudence here means practical wisdom or good judgment in the management of affairs.  This tells us that God doesn’t just save us and accept us; He then teaches us how to live as His children.  Grace gives us both the heavenly wisdom to know what to do and the practical prudence to know how to do it.

How this applies to you:

— God’s grace provides both divine insight and practical application.

— You have access to both heavenly wisdom and earthly understanding.

— Grace teaches you not just what to do, but how to do it.

— God’s wisdom flows freely through His grace.

— Prudence helps you apply divine wisdom to everyday situations.

— You can face every decision with both divine guidance and practical wisdom.

— The more you embrace grace, the more complete your understanding becomes.

— When you are sensitive to the divine promotions of the Holy Spirit, there will be moments when He nudges you to do something or gives you the insight you need, and it becomes the perfect idea at the right time.

— This type of wisdom and prudence empowers you to operate on levels that far exceed your education and experience.

4. Grace is Abundant.

Notice the word “abound” in our text. Just as God’s redemption is complete and His acceptance is permanent, His grace to live this new life is abundant. It doesn’t trickle; it floods. It doesn’t drip; it gushes. When God gives grace, He gives it abundantly, extravagantly, and overwhelmingly. There’s no area of your life where  His grace isn’t more than enough.

How this applies to you:

— God’s grace is never in short supply.

— You have more than enough grace for every situation.

— Grace flows abundantly in every direction of your life.

— There’s no challenge bigger than God’s abundant grace.

— You can face any situation knowing grace will abound.

— Living in abundant grace means never running on empty.

— What this means is that God’s grace multiplies as challenges multiply.  You will face challenges (like everyone else), but you will not respond like everyone else when you are flowing in and with God’s grace.

— The more you die to self and allow God to live through you, God will give you words and do things in/through you that will leave you speechless. And the entire time, you may be thinking, “I don’t deserve this.” And you will be right because it is coming to and through you by grace! Abundant grace at that!

Declaration of Faith:

Father, I thank You for redeeming me completely through the blood of Jesus.

I receive and walk in both the acceptance and adoption You have provided in Christ.

Your grace abounds toward me with both wisdom and prudence for every situation.

I embrace my identity as Your child and heir of Your Kingdom.

I am not a slave. I am not a servant. I am a son!

I rest in knowing my redemption, acceptance, and adoption are forever secure.

Your wisdom and prudence guide me as I walk out my salvation.

I face every challenge knowing Your grace is more than enough.

Your abundant grace empowers me to live wisely and victoriously.

I declare that living in Your grace is my new normal.

And living this way, I know GREATER IS COMING FOR ME!

I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

This is Today’s Word! Apply it and prosper!
