Don’t Set Up Camp in the Natural Realm

by Rick

Today we continue our series entitled “Living the Grace Life,” where we will learn to embrace and walk in God’s unmerited, unearned, and often undeserved favor throughout 2025.

Key scriptures for this year:

2 Corinthians? ?9?:?8? ?TPT??

“Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything—every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.”

??

??Galatians? ?5?:?4? ?TPT??

“If you want to be made right with God by fulfilling the obligations of the law, you have cut off more than your flesh—you have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from the revelation of grace!”

Romans? ?6?:?14? ?ERV??

“Sin will not be your master, because you are not under law. You now live under God’s grace.”

??

1 Corinthians? ?15?:?10? ?NIV??

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.”

Additional scriptures for today:

Galatians 5:13 TPT

“Beloved ones, God has called us to live a life of freedom in the Holy Spirit. But don’t view this wonderful freedom as an opportunity to set up a base of operations in the natural realm. Freedom means that we become so completely free of self-indulgence that we become servants of one another, expressing love in all we do.”

2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

1 Corinthians 2:12 NIV

“What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.”

Setting the stage:

When we are Born-Again, we become new creations in Christ Jesus. The old passes away, and all things become new.  This isn’t just religious rhetoric; it’s a spiritual reality. However, honestly, most Christians don’t understand it. They are new, but they don’t know how to walk in the reality of the life Christ Jesus died to give them.

Once we are Born-Again, we are no longer mere humans.  We are filled with God’s Spirit, empowered by His grace, and called to live supernaturally in a natural world. However, many believers, though spiritually transformed, continue to operate as though nothing has changed.  They “set up camp” in the natural realm, living by human wisdom, relying on natural abilities, and operating within earthly limitations.  They’re like eagles who never spread their wings to soar, choosing instead to walk around like chickens.  God has called us to something higher.  When you were Born-Again, God delivered you from the bondage of The Law and the limits of the flesh. He filled you with His Spirit and gave you access to His grace.  Now He expects you to establish your base of operations in the spirit realm, living and working as the supernatural being you have become.

This understanding is critical because many believers intellectually know they are new creations but still operate from an old foundation.  They’re trying to accomplish supernatural assignments with natural abilities. The Apostle Paul was frustrated with believers who remained rooted in performance-based living even after receiving God’s Spirit. He wanted them to understand that what God calls us to do is far greater than anything we could accomplish through human effort alone.  When you are rooted and grounded in God’s love and grace, you begin to see the invisible and attempt the impossible, knowing it’s not you doing it – it’s God’s grace working through you.

So, what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

1. Born-Again Believers Are No Longer “Mere” Humans.

When you accepted Jesus as Lord, something supernatural happened. You literally became a new creation.  Your spirit was reborn, and God’s Spirit took up residence in you.  This wasn’t just a religious experience; it was a complete transformation of your nature.  You are no longer just a natural being trying to have spiritual experiences.  You are a spiritual being having a natural experience. This fundamental shift in identity should change how you approach every aspect of life, including your professional responsibilities.

This principle isn’t new. When God commanded Moses to build the Tabernacle, every detail had to be constructed to divine specifications. God chose Bezalel and filled him with His Spirit, giving him supernatural skill, ability, and knowledge to work with gold, silver, bronze, and wood (Exodus 31:1-6). God didn’t send Bezalel to school to learn these skills; He supernaturally downloaded them into him by His Spirit. The same Spirit that equipped Bezalel now lives in you! Just as God supernaturally enhanced Bezalel’s natural abilities for a divine purpose, He does the same with you today.

Being rooted and grounded in God’s love and grace positions you to believe what God believes about you.  This enables you to attempt things you would never try otherwise. The transformation isn’t just spiritual theory – it’s practical reality that should impact every area of your life.

How this applies to you:

— Your human abilities are just the starting point; God’s supernatural power is now available.

— Stop making decisions based solely on what you can see in the natural realm.

— When you are in a meeting (like many of us are every day), you have access to wisdom that exceeds human understanding.

— Your experience and education are simply the platforms through which God’s supernatural power will flow. What you have learned in the past is a reference point, but you are not limited to it. God can give you knowledge, insight, and even skill from above (in a moment), as he did with Bezalel.

— When others see only natural limitations, you can see supernatural possibilities.

— God’s Spirit in you means you’re never limited to human solutions.

— Your natural skills are entry points for supernatural results.

Resting in God’s love and grace positions you to SEE the invisible and ATTEMPT the impossible. But this won’t happen if you setup camp in the natural realm and continue to live as a mere human.

2. Operating From A Spiritual Base of Operations.

Most believers try to live their spiritual lives while maintaining their base of operations in the natural realm.  This is like trying to fight a ground war from the ocean – you’re operating from the wrong domain. God has seated you in heavenly places with Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6). This is your true base of operations.  When you understand this, you approach your work, responsibilities, and challenges from a completely different perspective.

The Apostle Paul was frustrated with believers who remained focused on human performance even after receiving the Holy Spirit.  Your base of operations must shift from natural to supernatural, from human effort to divine enablement.  This isn’t about ignoring natural realities – it’s about operating from a higher perspective that acknowledges both realms but prioritizes the spiritual.

How this applies to you:

— Before starting your workday, establish your spiritual connection through prayer.

— Make decisions from heaven’s perspective rather than an earthly or worldly point of view.

— When facing challenges, consult God’s Spirit before running to other people for help.

— Let divine wisdom, not just market analysis, guide your strategic planning.

— In negotiations, rely on supernatural insight beyond business acumen. God can lead you concerning how high or how low to go.

— View your workplace as territory where heaven touches earth through you.

Transform your office from a natural workspace into a supernatural outpost. Just like we had COPs (Combat Outposts) in Iraq and Afghanistan, make your office a HOP (Heavenly Outpost), where heaven touches earth daily.

3. Breaking Free From Natural Realm Limitations.

The natural realm operates under certain laws and limitations. But as a Born-Again believer, you’re no longer bound by these constraints. You have access to a higher law – the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2).  This higher law supersedes natural laws, enabling you to achieve results that defy natural explanation.

Your foundation can no longer be in the natural realm or based on human performance. God has called you to operate at a level that exceeds human capability. When you understand this, you stop limiting yourself to what makes sense naturally and start pursuing what’s possible supernaturally.

How this applies to you:

— Stop allowing your past experience to limit your future expectations. Don’t judge your future by your past.

— When others say “impossible,” remember you operate under different laws.

— Face budget constraints knowing God’s provision exceeds natural resources. God is your source, and He never runs out.

— Handle difficult personalities with supernatural wisdom and grace.

— Approach deadlines with faith in God’s ability to multiply time.

— View obstacles as opportunities for God to demonstrate His power.

— Believe God for supernatural solutions in naturally impossible situations.

Enter every day with a “NO LIMITS” mentality becuase in heaven, there are NO LIMITS, and heaven is not just where you are going; it is where you are SEATED RIGHT NOW!

4. Becoming A Supernatural Change Agent.

God hasn’t just transformed you for your own benefit. He wants to use you as a conduit of His supernatural power in this world. Your workplace isn’t just where you earn a living; it’s your assigned territory for supernatural impact.  When you understand this, you become a change agent – someone through whom God demonstrates His power in practical ways.

How this applies to you:

— Your presence should shift atmospheres in every meeting you attend. Even virtual ones.

— Let God’s peace flow through you in high-stress environments.  Remember, people are watching you, and they know you are a Christian.  They want to see how you handle it. Let your life and your disposition be a witness of God’s grace and peace.

— Be a conductor of heaven’s wisdom in strategic planning sessions.

— Allow God’s creative solutions to flow through you for complex problems.

— Become known as someone who brings divine solutions to significant challenges.

Enter every day believing God to use your workplace as a showcase for His wisdom, insight, love, grace, and power.

— Remember, none of this will happen if you set up in camp in the natural realm and continue to live as a mere human, even after being Born-Again.

Declaration of Faith:

Father, I thank You for making me more than a mere human.

I declare that my base of operations is in the spirit realm.

Your supernatural power flows freely through my natural abilities.

I make decisions from heaven’s perspective, not the earth’s limitations.

Your Spirit in me provides wisdom beyond human understanding.

I approach every challenge knowing I operate under higher laws and I can see from a higher perspective.

Divine solutions flow naturally through my professional expertise.

My workplace is a showcase for Your glory!

I live THE GRACE LIFE in 2025 and beyond, therefore GREATER IS COMING FOR ME!

I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

This is Today’s Word! Apply it and prosper!
