This morning we will CLOSE OUT our series, “Maximizing 2015 by God’s GREAT GRACE.” It’s been a great month and I believe it will be an even greater year. This year we will experience the grace of God like never before. I will close out the series with a few thoughts about God’s grace, this season, and your responsibility to seek God for the vision that will focus your faith.
So what does this mean to you today? A few things.
1. You were not born to do everything. Knowing your purpose and receiving divine vision for the clarity to complete it makes life simple.
2. Divine vision becomes a source of discipline. Vision helps to restrain us and it becomes the foundation for discipline. What is discipline? The late Dr. Myles Munroe said, “Discipline is a self-imposed standard or restriction motivated by a desire greater than the alternatives. Discipline is about making decisions that are dictated by a determined destiny… A person becomes disciplined when they find something that is more important than the alternatives and they decide to forego the alternatives in order to achieve what they consider desirable.”
3. Vision inspires passion. Visionaries are passionate about life. Knowing that you are pursuing your life’s purpose is exciting! You get up everything morning motivated by your life’s assignment.
4. Vision gives pain a purpose. All true vision will be tested for authenticity. No one has ever accomplished anything great without having to overcome opposition. But when you are being led of God’s Spirit, driven by your divine purpose, and focused on a Godly vision, you will see the purpose in the pain and God’s grace will help you push past it.
5. God uses your imagination as the canvas upon which He paints His vision. Vision is birthed from anointed imagination. Free yourself to allow God to show you your future. By faith you can walk around in your future, see the people you are going to impact, shake their hands, touch them, see the change, and then come back and get ready to go make that vision a reality by God’s grace.
6. Your prosperity is connected to your divine purpose. God made plans for you before the world began and you will never achieve true success outside of those plans. So seek God, develop a plan for 2015, but ensure your plan lines up with God’s purpose.
7. God has already given you the grace to succeed in this season. When God gives you vision for your future He is also confirming what He has already implanted IN you. God will never tell you to do something He has not graced you to do! The goal then is the outworking of the internal.
8. Seek God for a plan for 2015.
a) God will give you divine vision so you can live your life in accordance with His purpose.
b) The vision you receive from God should give birth to a plan.
c) Your plan must have quantifying goals. A goal is a measurable objective, not a wishful thought.
d) Along with the vision and the plan, God gives you the grace to actually pursue it and make it happen.
In closing, here are a few questions to ask yourself as you lay out your plan for 2015:
a) What is God leading me to do in this season? What’s God’s dream for my life for 2015?
b) What projects will these dreams require of me? What daily actions must I engage in to fulfill them?
c) What standards will I live by throughout the year?
i) Health Standards
ii) Family Standards
iii) Financial Standards
iv) Friendship Standards
v) Personal / Spiritual Standards
d) What books will I need to read?
e) What mentors will I need to seek out and spend time with?
f) What events will I need to attend?
g) What content will I need to listen to (audio books, sermons, podcasts, etc.)?
e) What will I do Monday through Friday to be intentional about pursuing God’s purpose?
Closing Confession: Father, I thank You for Your Great Grace towards me. This is a season of the Greater Grace. In this season I will experience Your grace like never before. This year shall be the best year of my life. My success this year will not come with more human effort. My success will come with my human sacrifice. I die to self. I yield to You. I give myself over to You, to accomplish what You want to accomplish in, with, and through me this year. As You lead me, as You reveal Your plans to me, as You give me divine vision, I open my heart to believe. All things are possible for me because I am a believer and not a doubter. I walk by faith and not fear. Failure is not an option for me, because I don’t live my life by my own power. Thank You Father for leading, guiding, and directing me. You give me vision that aligns me with Your purpose. That vision gives birth to a plan. That plan contains quantifiable goals. Those goals help shape my decisions and actions. My actions, in faith, access Your Great Grace to succeed in this season. I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
This is Today’s Word! Apply it and Prosper!
