(Read Matthew 10:16-20)
This morning we continue our series, “Grace that is Simply Amazing” by continuing our mini-series entitled, “Grace Based Success (Prosperity)”. We have been studying the life of the Apostle Peter. Our study has brought us to Matthew 10. Yesterday we looked at verses 16-20 and today we go back to the same passage:
“Listen! I am sending you, and you will be like sheep among wolves. So be smart like snakes. But also be like doves and don’t hurt anyone. Be careful! There are people who will arrest you and take you to be judged. They will whip you in their synagogues. You will be taken to stand before governors and kings. People will do this to you because you follow me. You will tell about me to those kings and governors and to the non-Jewish people. When you are arrested, don’t worry about what to say or how you should say it. At that time you will be given the words to say. It will not really be you speaking; the Spirit of your Father will be speaking through you.”
I am going back to this passage to focus in on the words, “When you are arrested, don’t worry about what to say or how you should say it. At that time you will be given the words to say. It will not really be you speaking; the Spirit of your Father will be speaking through you.”
So what does this mean to you today? Let’s get into it.
- The Father is not looking for you to perform without Him. Jesus knew the disciples would be placed in difficult situations and He basically told them not to worry about it. Jesus knew His men would not know what to say when the pressure was on, but He also knew the Father would provide the words. Jesus said, “At that time you will be given the words to say. It will not really be you speaking; the Spirit of your Father will be speaking through you.”
- In order to maximize your purpose and potential, and complete your divine assignment before you die, you will have to endure very difficult situations. But the Lord does not want you to take on the pressure to perform in those situations. He wants you to rely on Him, His grace and His power.
- You cannot accomplish God’s assignment with human strength or ability alone. If you attempt to do God’s will on your own, it will lead to frustration and unnecessary stress.
- The Father wants you to rely on Him when accomplishing His will in the earth. If you are doing what He told you to do, He will give you the words to say, He will tell you how to say them, and He will then back up the words by performing the work.
- Grace takes the pressure off of you. God never required you to embrace the pressure to perform. If you feel the pressure to perform, it is because you are relying too much on you.
- When you understand grace you release the pressure to perform, you rely on God, and you allow Him to flow through you. This is a much better way to live.
- When you understand grace and you are facing a difficult situation, you roll the pressure of the situation over to God, you rely on Him to perform through you, and get to experience supernatural success.
- Grace based success is not effortless, but it is sweatless, because it does not depend on human ability.
Closing Confession: Father, I thank You for teaching me about Your grace and my requirement to live by faith. Studying Your grace has changed the way I look at You, myself and others. The revelation of Your grace is helping me live a stress-free life. I now realize I had taken on pressures You never intended for me to have. I know I will face difficult situations on the road to my destiny. I will not be able to complete my purpose without challenges, but I also know that Your grace is already on me to succeed. So I roll the pressure to perform over to You. I cast my cares upon You and I look to You to perform through me. When the pressure is on, You give me the words, You tell me how to say them, and You then back up Your words by doing the work through me. I feel the stress falling off of me already. I am Your child, You sent me into the earth for Your purpose, and I am doing Your will, so I look to You to perform through me. I decrease that You may increase in me. The life that I now live is lived IN You, WITH You, and FOR You, because it’s ALL About You! I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
This is Today’s Word! Apply it and Prosper.
