Stress-Free Living

by Rick

(Read Matthew 10:19-20)

This morning we continue our series, “Grace that is Simply Amazing” by continuing our mini-series entitled, “Grace Based Success (Prosperity)”.  We have been studying the life of the Apostle Peter.  Our study has brought us to Matthew 10.  We walked through the first 20 verses of the chapter so far.  Yesterday I focused in on verses 19 and 20,  This morning I feel led to go right back to these verses.  Jesus said, “When you are arrested, don’t worry about what to say or how you should say it.  At that time you will be given the words to say.  It will not really be you speaking; the Spirit of your Father will be speaking through you.”

So what does this mean to you today?  Let’s get into it.

1.  God has called you to a supernatural life.

a)  Jesus sent His disciples out to heal the sick and cast out demons.  He expected them to do what He did.

b)  After spending time as spectators, Jesus required His disciples to become participators.  He now requires the same of you.

c)  God did not call you just so you could go to church and enjoy the service.  God called you to BECOME the service to this world.

2.  God does not expect you to come up with the supernatural on your own.

a)  I am sure the disciples were not comfortable with attempting the supernatural, because they knew they could not do it on their own.  But the Lord never required them to.  He was there FOR them, IN them and ready to work THROUGH them.  The same can be said for you.

b)  Jesus knew His disciples would not know what to say or how to say it, but He also knew the Lord would provide the words.

c)  God calls you to do things you can’t do without Him because He wants you to experience Him in ways that are truly supernatural.  Once you do, your life will never be the same.

3.  God wants you to trust Him and rely on His grace to perform His will.

a)  The disciples could not do (on their own) what Jesus was sending them out to do.  Jesus knew that and He wanted them to rely on the Father.  He wants the same of you today.

b)  Trust God to do what you can’t do.  Do what you can and trust Him for the rest.

c)  True trust keeps you from stress and it ushers you into God’s rest.

4.  God is looking for humans who are willing to become conduits of His power and glory in the earth.

a)  There was nothing special about the disciples, other than the fact that they were called by God.  The same can be said of you.

b)  God used the disciples by His grace – completely unearned and mostly undeserved.  He will use you the same way.

c)  Stop fighting God’s assignment because of thoughts of being unworthy.  God does not want to use you because you are worthy.  Jesus was worthy FOR you!  God wants to use you by grace.  Will you let Him?

5.  Grace based success is free of stress, struggle and strain.

a)  Jesus knew the disciples were stressing over what to say and how to say it, so He let them know that God would provide the words and He would do the work.

b)  Stop stressing.  What God called you to do is too big for you to do anyway, so stop trying with human effort.  Simply believe.  Open your heart, believe and receive, and allow God to use you.

c)  If you provide the willingness, God will provide the power, and it will be stress-free!

Closing Confession:   Father, I thank You for teaching me about Your grace and my requirement to live by faith.  Studying Your grace is helping me release the pressure to perform.  The more I walk with You, the more revelation You give me concerning my life’s assignment, and the more I realize I need Your grace.  What You have called me to do exceeds my ability, so I won’t even try.  I fully submit myself to You.  I give myself over to You with my whole heart.  I refuse to take on stress to do things I can’t do; things that are clearly supernatural.  So instead of stressing, I believe.  I open my heart to believe.  I receive by faith all that You have provided by grace.  I see the invisible, I attempt the improbable, and I accomplish the impossible, because it is not me doing it.  It if You Father, living in me, You give me the words and You perform the work.  I enter this day stress-free, totally rely on You!  I declare this by faith.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
This is Today’s Word!  Apply it and Prosper.
