The Grace to be a Kingdom Ambassador

by Rick

(Read Matthew 10)

This morning we continue our series, “Grace that is Simply Amazing” by continuing our mini-series entitled, “Grace Based Success (Prosperity)”.  Yesterday I shared a message about the liberating power of grace.  Today’s message flows in the same vein.

In Matthew 10 Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to expel evil spirits and heal all kinds of disease and infirmity. As He sent them out Jesus said, “Proclaim that the kingdom of Heaven has arrived. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure the lepers, drive out devils—give freely, as you have received freely.  Don’t take any gold or silver or even coppers with you; nor a knapsack for the journey, nor even a change of clothes… You will be brought into the presence of governors and kings because of me—to give your witness to them and to the heathen.  But when they do arrest you, never worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say. You will be told at the time what you are to say. For it will not be really you who are speaking but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”

I am have been attempting to move on from this passage, but the Father keeps bringing me back to it.  As I read it every day and I meditate what Jesus said to His disciples, the Holy Spirit continues to speak to me concerning it and He then leads me to share with you what He says.

So what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

1.  The Lord has called you to operate as an Ambassador of the Kingdom of Heaven in the earth (2 Cor 5:20).

2.  Ambassadors don’t carry their own agenda.  They simply represent (or re-present) the message they receive from the homeland.  Heaven is your homeland.  You are supposed to receive instructions from heaven and then re-present the one who sent you by presenting His agenda in the place you have been sent to live.

3.  Ambassadors don’t have to worry about resources.  They are not performing their will, so they don’t have to pick up the bill.  That’s why Jesus told His disciples that:

a)  They would be freely given power and authority.  As they freely received, they were to freely give.

b)  They could not take gold, silver or even any copper coins, because the Lord Himself would see to it that they were taken care of financially.

c)  When the time came to speak, they would be given the words to say, because the Father Himself would speak through them.

*** This is the way we are supposed to live in the earth today.

4.  Enter every day cognizant of your ‘Kingdom of Heaven Ambassador’ status.  If you do you will walk a little taller, shake hands a little firmer, and see challenges much differently, because you know you don’t have to face challenges alone.  You are in this world re-presenting the one who sent you.  God has obligated Himself to see to it that you are successful, because you are promoting His agenda and not your own.

5.  Ambassadors are given everything they need to properly represent their nation abroad.  You are God’s Ambassador.  As you head into this day remember that God Himself will see to it that you have everything you need to represent Him well.  He gives you what you need by grace, completely unearned, so simply open your heart to receive.

Closing Confession:   Father, I thank You for teaching me about Your grace and my requirement to live by faith.  You do all You for for me by grace.  I don’t work for it and I could never deserve it.  What I do is release my faith to receive all You have promised to equip me with.  By faith I access Your grace to represent You and Your Kingdom well in this earth.  As I enter this day and every one that follows, I do so as a servant/son.  I don’t pursue my own agenda.  I am here to RE-present You.  You give me freely, so freely I give.  You give me the words and You perform the work through me.  I receive my orders from headquarters, from heaven, and I simply seek to live-out what I receive.  I am not worried about a thing, because I am representing You and You will see to it that I have all I need – and more than enough, so I can be a blessing to others.  I am Your child, I am empowered to represent Your Kingdom agenda daily, and I declare that I do.  The Kingdom of Heaven advances through me, by Your grace and for Your glory!  I declare this by faith.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
This is Today’s Word!  Apply it and Prosper.
