This morning we will continue with my recap of messages that impacted me during the recent Mighty Men of Valor Conference. Today the notes/thoughts come from a message delivered by Pastor Tyrone Marshall of Victory Christian Ministries International – DC. Pastor Tyrone delivered a powerful message focused on the authority given to us in Christ Jesus, the power of finding our true identity in Christ, and the importance of properly discerning and respecting the men/women God has called to serve as our Pastors.
So what does this mean to you today? Let’s get into it.
1. Wrong thinking has led to wrong living.
a) It’s time for us to be the men/women God called us to be and not who we became because of wrong thinking.
b) Believing the lies of the devil makes you a slave to him and the lies.
c) The devil is always trying to control your thoughts. He knows that if he can control the mind, he can control the man.
2. God has given us Pastors to help us transform the way we think and become the people we were born to be.
a) When you get connected to the Pastor(s) God sent you, you begin to see and hear things you need in order to become whom you were called to be.
b) What is in your Pastors (grace, wisdom, insight, anointing, etc.), was placed IN them, BY God, FOR you!
c) The way you receive your Pastor(s) will determine HOW you receive from them.
d) The degree to which you will be able to tap into the anointing on your Pastors’ lives will be determined by: 1) Your willingness to allow them to speak into your life, 2) Your response to what God says through them, and 3) Your level of respect for them.
3. When you discover your true identity you are in position to reign in life through the power of Christ.
a) The devil is always trying to keep us ignorant of who we are spiritually, because once we know, he does not stand a chance against us.
b) If you ever find out who you are spiritually it will change your life naturally. It will change everything about you.
Closing Confession: Father, I thank You for teaching me about Your grace and my requirement to live by faith. In order for me to properly walk and live by faith, I must submit to the process of mind renewal. I must see myself the way You see me. I spent years living my life with wrong thinking, which led to wrong living. I believed the lies satan told me about myself. But those days are over. Right thinking and right believing has led to right living. You have connected me with Pastors who watch over my soul, and who teach me your Word with clarity, simplicity and understanding. I honor and respect their role in my life. I position myself to receive from You, through them, so I can become the person You birthed me to be. Along the way I have discovered my true identity and I am now in position to reign in life through the power made available to me in Your Son, Christ Jesus, my Lord. I know who I am. I know who I am not. I am comfortable being me. I embrace my divine assignment. I change the world – not by my power, strength or ability – only by Your grace. I declare this by faith! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
