This morning we continue our new series entitled, “The Year of Supernatural Manifestation.” I feel very strongly that this year will be a year of great exploits for us. While God called us before the world began, we live our lives out in varying times and seasons. There are shifts that occur in the spirit realm that must be discerned. I believe we recently experienced a shift and we are primed to experience a season victory like we have not seen. I believe this will be a season of miracles, signs and wonders. I believe the supernatural and humanly unexplainable will be manifested in this season across the body of Christ, to the point where it becomes expected and routine.
You know you are in-faith when the humanly impossible seems normal. You know your mind is renewed when the supernatural seems logical. This is the environment I believe we are on a path to. The Bible says the following about faith. “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1 NIV). Faith is having the ability to believe God and to become confident in things we hear/discern from God, even when these things cannot be validated with our human senses. So, to live by faith God requires you to take Him at His word, even when His word cannot be validated with sense-realm evidence, and even when His word ‘flies in the face’ of all the evidence you have. This means that to truly live by faith you are going to have to operate in a realm that humanly uncomfortable.
While your spirit finds comfort in and unseen God and His word, your natural man finds comfort in things it can validate with human senses. For you to experience the supernatural things I believe the Lord is calling us into in this season, you are going to have to become comfortable with a certain level of human discomfort. Because the things God is calling us into in this season will require a departure from the routine, the mundane and the safety found in doing things you already know how to do.
So, what does this mean to you today? A few things.
- To experience things you have never experienced you will have to do things you have never done. Open your heart to all God wants to do in this season.
- True faith requires a departure from the safety of human possibility.
- If you are set on living your life doing ONLY the things YOU can do, then you don’t need God. God calls you into realms that require His supernatural power.
- To live by faith you must get comfortable with a certain level of discomfort. God will not allow you to rest in your ability. God calls you to people, places and projects that force you to rely on Him and His ability.
- What you feel most comfortable doing may be what you WANT to do for Christ. However, God knows that if He allows you to do what you feel most comfortable doing, you will do it in your own strength; you won’t need God, so you won’t involve Him. Where’s the fun in that? That’s not the life of faith. God calls you to do things you are NOT comfortable with. He calls you outside of your comfort zone. He calls you to operate in realms beyond your education, to pursue deals that exceed your bank account, and to connect with people you don’t know, so are you forced to rely on Him to do what you cannot do.
Closing Confession: Father, I am excited about 2017! There has been a SHIFT in the spirit realm and that SHIFT will manifest in the earth realm, in my life, this year. In order to operate in this SHIFT and to maximize this season, You require me to live by faith. You require me to take You at Your Word, even when I have no sense-realm evidence to support it, and even when it ‘flies in the face’ of what I am facing at the moment. And I do! I walk by faith and not human sight. I choose to believe You and Your Word, over the evidence of this world. You call me to do things I cannot do, to connect with people I do not know, to go to places I have never been, and to begin projects I do not have the money to fund. This is exciting. I am ready to experience You in 2017 like never before. I am ready to leave the comforts of human possibility, so I can experience the supernatural. I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name, amen!
This is Today’s Word! Apply it and prosper!
