As Jesus Is (Pt. 17)

by Rick

Today we continue our series entitled, “God Loves You”, under the overall theme for the year of, “Supernatural Manifestation.”  We have been looking at the following two passages and we will go back to them today:

The Apostle John said:

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

(1 John 4:16, 17 KJV)

King Solomon said:

God has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end.

(Ecc 3:11 AMP)

I made the following statement about these two scriptures:

“The Bible is clear that God made plans for us before the world began.  The challenge for us, when we are born and begin to walk through life is to: (1) accept Jesus as Lord, because our journey begins with Jesus (2) receive the revelation of God’s plans through the Holy Spirit, (3) fight the urge to feel unworthy and to disqualify ourselves before we ever get started, (4) renew our minds to believe what God believes about us, (5) wait on God’s timing for the things He revealed to come to pass, and (6) launch out to experience what God revealed when the timing is right.  Now, what I just said in these six points is much easier said than done, but the pursuit of it becomes the joy of the journey with Jesus.”

I have discussed points 1-5.  Today I will discuss #6.

So what does this mean to you today?  Let’s see.

1.  Revelation is your invitation for participation.

a)  Jesus only said what He heard the Father say and He only did what He saw the Father do.  In John 5:19 He said, “The Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.”  Did you catch that?  Jesus only did what the Father revealed to Him that He was supposed to do.  When God reveals something to, it becomes your invitation to get involved in what He is doing in the earth.  This is why I say, “Revelation is your invitation for participation.”

b)  When God speaks to you and He reveals what He is doing, He is revealing it to you — NOT so that You can get excited simply off of what was revealed — but so you can actually get involved in it, in the earth.  God is looking for you to experience life with Him.  Not just read about it, not just pray about it, but actually LIVE IT!

c)  God reveals it to you before He does it, so that you can OPEN YOUR HEART TO IT!  Once you open your heart to it, you are in position to experience it!

2.  The Kingdom of God values experience over education.

a)  We are living in the most educated time in history.  People today have more access to the Bible than ever before.  In Biblical times, very few people had access to God’s Word.  Just 100 years ago, most believers only had one Bible, in print, in their possession, if they were fortunate.  Today, Christians have multiple Bibles, they have access to electronic versions, and Bible quotes are all over social media.  But posting a Bible verse on Facebook or Instagram and actually LIVING what it teaches are NOT the same thing!  Don’t get fooled into thinking that because you can quote a scripture that you are actually LIVING it!

b)  We live in a world today where a person who has been working on something for, let’s say, 15 years — who has proven working-knowledge of a product or system — will be made to work for a young man/woman who went to school, but has never actually “done it”.  The young person has read books, but they are not proven.  Yet, in this world, we will give them the higher position, because this world values education over experience.  Well, guess what?  God’s Kingdom does NOT work that way!  You can quote all the scriptures you want, but it does not mean anything.  Demons can quote scripture.  If your learning does not turn into LIVING, you have not done anything!

c)  My Pastor, Tony Brazelton, said, “Every revelation puts us in a position to pursue and experience what God revealed.”  God is not just looking for us to regurgitate scripture.  He is looking for us to experience what it is like to walk with Him and for Him to walk with us.  This is the only way you will get to the point where you are living “As Jesus is, in this world!

I have a lot more to say about this.  I will stop here for today.

Closing Confession:  Father, this is a year of Great Victory for me.  I hide Your Word in my heart.  I meditate and medicate on Your Word day and night.  But more importantly, my learning turns into living.  I don’t just read Your Word, I LIVE IT!  You reveal things to me, and Your revelation becomes my invitation for participation in what You are doing in the earth.  My revelation also becomes the authorization for my faith.  I know what to pray for.  I know what to pursue.  I know what I should experience and I live every day pursuing an experience in what You have revealed.  Living this way, I can boldly declare that  as Jesus is, so am I, in this world!  I declare this by faith.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

This is Today’s Word!  Apply it and Prosper.
