Today we continue our new series entitled, “It’s already done!”, under the banner of the overall series for the year, “Supernatural Manifestation.” A few of weeks ago I introduced you to the following passage. Let’s go back to it today.
In the opening paragraph of the Apostle Peter’s second letter, he said:
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
(2 Peter 1:1-4)
I have been focused in on the following statement for about a week: “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness.” Today I will transition this statement: “through the knowledge of him that hath called us.”
So what does this mean to you today? A few things.
- The life of faith is a not a journey of performance, evaluation and reward. It is a journey of discovery, development and deployment. Meaning that the emphasis is not on you and your performance. It is on God and His dedication to the plans He made for you before the world began. Your role is to find, follow and finish those plans; to discover, develop in and then deploy into your divine assignment.
- Life in Christ is supposed to be different. The system of the Kingdom of God is much different than the system of this world. Unfortunately, many religious people have presented God’s system in a way that is no different than this one. Religion makes your life about you, your performance, and the repetition of rituals, rites and routines. This is all human. God has called you to live a different type of life. God has called you into a life that exceeds human power, ability and strength. God has called you into a realm where your performance is not good enough, your power is not strong enough and your intellect is not smart enough. God has called you into the supernatural. Once you are Born-Again, the supernatural is supposed to be natural to you. God has called you to be a partaker of HIS divine nature. This does not happen through your performance. This is not about what you DO, it is about discovering what God has already DONE and walking in it by faith.
- The more you come into the knowledge of God concerning who you are in Him and what He called you to do, the more you will know what HE has signed-up to do through you. Your life is not about you, it’s about Him! Your are called to be ONE with God. He is the one living in you. He will give you the words. He will perform the work. He will release the supernatural. He will open doors no man can close. He will bring you before great men, who will use their power, ability, influence and money, to help you in ways you cannot help yourself. God is the one who is ready, willing and able. He has planned it. In eternity He has seen it. And now, in time, He is looking for you to believe it and to release your faith for it.
- The life of faith is not about working to achieve or about getting God to move. It is about discovering what God planned, which is what He already did within the halls of eternity. And then believing God to bring it to pass in time.
- The life of faith is a journey of discovery where you are peering into heaven daily, asking God to reveal to you what His plans, purposes and desires are. And then coming back from that moment of discovery, to pray the prayer of faith that will bring what you saw in heaven to the earth. This is how we are supposed to pray… on earth, as it is in heaven.
- All things that pertain to life and godliness have already been prepared and stored up. As we walk with God and we get the knowledge of them (through divine revelation), we then know what to pray, what to say, and what to do, in order to become partakers of God’s divine plan and His divine nature in this world.
- True faith is not about you “doing” to get God to “do” or to “move”. It is about you discovering and discerning what He has already done and opening your heart to it.
I will stop here for today. Tomorrow’s message will flow in this same vein. I will talk about believing what God believes about you!
Closing Confession: Father, this is a year of Great Victory for me. Not because of my effort. Not because of my performance. Not because of my ability. But because of my faith. I am now at a point in my life where I can see into Your realm. I peer into eternity and I come back, into time, to pray what I saw. I peer into heaven and I come back, to the earth, to pray what I saw. Living this way I experience heaven on earth daily. The things I am seeing You do in my life today, in time, are the things I already saw You do in prayer, within the halls of eternity. This is the life of faith. This is how I am called to live! I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
This is Today’s Word! Apply it and Prosper.
