Today we will continue our series entitled “God’s Grace & Our Faith.” We are looking at The Law given under Moses vs. the Grace provided by Jesus. Our primary scriptures are John 1:14 & 17. Yesterday we also looked at 2 Peter 1:1-4. We will look at these again today.
(John 1:14 New International Version)
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
(John 1:17 New International Version)
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
(2 Peter 1:1-4)
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Yesterday I focused on this line: “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him…” I will do the same today.
So what does this mean to you today? A few things.
1. Life and godliness.
— Peter tells us that God has already given us all things that pertain to life and godliness. This means we already have everything that pertains to living the life we were born to live in this world and everything required to walk in a level of godliness that properly represents God along the way.
— Everything you need to maximize your purpose and potential in life, and everything you need to live godly as you do it has been provided to you. It is either already IN you or it is stored up FOR you!
— Everything you consider to be natural to this world (every earthly requirement) and everything that is natural to God’s world (every spiritual and heavenly blessing) has already been given to you. Natural or spiritual, earthly or heavenly, every requirement you will ever need to accomplish what God sent you to this earth to accomplish is either already inside of you or prepared for you.
— God considered all the earthly requirements and desires of this world and all the spiritual requirements and desires of His world, and in His infinite wisdom, He equipped us with them all. Everything we need for life and everything we need for godliness is already inside of us.
2. Change your mindset to this: “I already have it!“
— I have told you many times that God’s instruction is equal to His injection. God will never instruct you to do something that He has not already injected you with. Because it would be unrighteous of God, as a heavenly Father, to expect you to do something He has not already equipped you to do. Whatever God expects you to do, He equips you to do; and whatever He equips you to do, He expects you to do. So, if God is telling you to do it, it is because you already have it in you.
— God will only instruct/lead you to do what He has already given you the grace to accomplish. So if God is leading you to do something, you don’t have to ask God for the grace to do it as if you don’t already have it. No, pray the prayer of faith that will tap into the power God has already placed IN you to do what He is leading you to do.
3. Your future is not ahead of you, it is INSIDE of you, and it is waiting for YOU to give birth to it, in accordance with God’s timing!
— God impregnates us with all we need to become the men/women we are called to be. And He then calls us into our destiny, knowing we will “give birth” to what is inside of us as we go at just the right time.
— When Gideon encountered God, he was a scared farmer. But God had placed a military commander INSIDE of Gideon. As Gideon went, a champion was born out of coward.
— When Abraham encountered God, he was a 75. year old man with no children. God had placed a Father of many nations INSIDE of him. As Abraham went, his destiny was birthed-out from within, and it is still being manifested today!
— When Peter encountered God, he was a brash fisherman, very rough around the edges. God had placed an Apostle INSIDE of him. As he went, Simon the Fisherman gave birth to Peter the Apostle.
— When Paul encountered God, he was a zealous terrorist against Christianity. God had placed a Christ-like revolutionary leader INSIDE of him. As he went, Saul of Tarsus gave birth to the Apostle Paul.
— When you encountered God, I am sure you were as lost as I was. But like me, God had already placed your future INSIDE of you. Your job is to give birth to all God has placed in you, and you will give birth AS YOU GO! The life of faith is a journey of discovery and deployment. You discover who you are, and you then deploy into your destiny! As you go into every deployment, portions of your destiny will be birthed from INSIDE of you. Once again, your future is not ahead of you, it is INSIDE of you. As you walk with God, you release incremental portions of your destiny and what is hidden IN you becomes manifest for the entire world to see!
Declaration of Faith:
Father, I thank You for teaching me about Your grace and my requirement to live by faith.
Everything I need has already been provided. All I need for life and all I need for godliness is already IN me!
As I go (as I live the life of faith, as I discover and deploy into what I discover), I give birth to what You placed IN me!
My future is not ahead of me. It is WITHIN me, and I am giving birth to it in increments as I walk out my divine destiny.
Living this way, I am not moved by anyone or anything. I am only moved by what You placed IN me, and my singular focus is GETTING IT ALL OUT before I die!
I declare that I will! I live by faith, and GREATER IS COMING FOR ME! I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
This is Today’s Word! Apply it and Prosper.
