Exalt God!

by Rick

(Read Daniel 6:26-28)

This morning we continue our series, “Grace that is Simply Amazing” by continuing our mini-series entitled, “Grace Based Success (Prosperity)”.  For the last few days we have been learning from this passage.  Let’s get back to it today.

The Bible says, “I am making a new law. This law is for people in every part of my kingdom. All of you must fear and respect the God of Daniel.  Daniel’s God is the living God; he lives forever.  His kingdom will never be destroyed.  His rule will never end.  God helps and saves people.  He does amazing miracles in heaven and on earth.  He saved Daniel from the lions.  So Daniel was successful during the time Darius was king and when Cyrus the Persian was king.”

Today I am going to focus in on another of King Darius’ exaltations of our God.  The king said, “He does amazing miracles in heaven and on earth.”

Before we get started applying the lesson today, let’s define the word miracle.  A modern dictionary says a miracle is “An unusual or wonderful event that is believed to be caused by the power of God.”  Noah Webster’s American Dictionary of the English Language (1828) says a miracle is “An event or effect contrary to the established constitution and course of things, or a deviation from the known laws of nature; a supernatural event.  Miracles can be wrought only by Almighty power.”  Finally, the working definition I use is: “A miracles is a supernatural interruption or supersession of natural laws.”  With our text and those three definitions as our backdrop, let’s seek to glean a few golden nuggets today.

So what does this mean to you today?  Let’s get to it.

  1.  Our God is a miracle-working God.  He has all power and He can do all things.

  1.  God is not restricted by the natural laws of the earth or the natural limits of humanity.

  1.  Humans are limited, restricted, finite and bound by the laws of this world.  God is unlimited, unrestricted, infinite and boundless.

  1.  You are never out of God’s reach.  No matter how bad the situation or how dire the report, if God is still living, then you still have hope.

  1.  Many don’t question whether or not God can, but they question if He will.  God’s power says He can, His love says He will.

  1.  As your God, Jehovah rules and reigns over you.  But as Your Heavenly Father, He carefully watches over you, to protect you for His purpose and empower you to make an impact in this world that will not easily be erased.

  1.  God does miracles, He injects Himself into situations that are beyond human limits, and He does so by His grace, in order to manifest His glory in the earth.

  1.  If you are facing something beyond human limits, something the doctors can’t help you with, something the lawyers have given up on, get God involved through prayer.  There is nothing He can’t do.  It might be impossible with man, but all things are possible with God!

  1.  When you exalt God every day and you ponder His miracle-working power, you are never intimidated by the size of your challenge, because you know the size of your challenge pales in comparison to the size of your God.

  1.  Exalt God!  We serve a God who stopped fire from burning, lions from biting, leprosy from spreading, storms from raging and demons from occupying.  If He could cause the blind to see, lame to walk, deaf to hear, dumb to speak and dead to rise, then sure He can manifest His glory in your situation!  Stop telling your God about your situation.  Start telling your situation about your God!

Closing Confession:   Father, I thank You for teaching me about Your grace and my requirement to live by faith.  The more I learn about You and Your grace, the more I shift my focus to You.  I understand my responsibility to live by faith.  But my faith is now fueled by Your grace.  I enter every day with my focus on You, Your power, Your strength, Your ability, and Your tireless dedication to me and to the plans You made for me before the world began.  So I exalt You Father.  You alone are worthy.  You alone are the Most High.  You alone are the King of kings and Lord of lords.  You are the only deity I acknowledge.  There is no other God but You!  You alone have all power, all strength and no limits.  You are a miracle working God.  You stopped fire from burning the Hebrew boys.  You stopped lions from biting or even clawing at Daniel.  You have stopped storms from raging, demons from occupying your children and sickness from destroying Your people.  You have caused the blind to see, lame to walk, deaf to hear, dumb to speak and dead to rise.  There is nothing You can’t do.  So I enter this day with my focus squarely on You, on Your power, Your grace, and Your desire to work through me.  Not only will Your power flow TO me, but I declare that shall flow THROUGH me!  I will be Your legs to walk, mouth to talk and hands to touch in the earth – today and every day!  I declare this by faith.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

This is Today’s Word!  Apply it and Prosper.
