Love Gives!

by Rick

Today we continue our series entitled, “God Loves You”, under the overall theme for the year of, “Supernatural Manifestation.”  Last week we started looking at John 3:16.  Let’s go back to it this morning.  The Apostle John said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV).  Today I want to focus in on the fact that “Love Gives.”

So what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

  1.  You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.  Love is not love until it is given away.

  1.  God loved us, even when we had no love for Him (Rom 5:8).  God expressed His love for us by giving us His best.  He gave us His Son.

  1.  God looked down on humanity, seeing us in our fallen state (left to us by Adam), and He loved us enough to do something about it.  God’s first son, Adam, got us into a mess.  So God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus (the Last Adam), to get us out of the mess.  Jesus came to redeem us from everything Adam got us into.  He did not do this because of anything we did.  He did it simply because He loved us.

  1.  Love is not proven in empty words.  Love is proven in action.  God proved His love when He sent Jesus to die for us.  Jesus proved His love when He went to the cross for our sin.  The Holy Spirit proves His love daily, when we chooses to live in us, despite our flaws.  Love is not just something God talks about.  God’s love for us is proven.

  1.  The proper response to love is love.  When you know God loves you, the proper response is to love Him back.  But remember, love is not love in just lip-service.  God did not just give you words.  God gave you His best.  He expects your best in return.

  1.  God so loved you that He gave.  If you believe and receive His love, He expects the same in return.  He expects you to give Him your life.

  1.  God has never required any less than ALL OF YOU!  Partial obedience is disobedience.  Partial submission is rebellion.  Giving God just part of your heart is deception.  Jesus paid it all for you and God wants it all from you.  Either He is Lord of all or He is not Lord at all!

  1.  Have you given God your all, or are you holding back?  God held nothing back from you.  Don’t hold anything back from Him.

  1.  If you love God, you will give Him your life… all of it.  He loved you and He gave.  You say you love Him.  Now, will you give?  Love gives!  Love is proven in action!

Closing Confession:  Father, this is a year of Great Victory for me.  You gave me Your best when You gave me Your Son.  You also gave me Your best when You gave me Your Spirit.  You now reveal Your best to me by Your Spirit.  You don’t do this because of anything I did.  You do this because You love me.  You love me, so You freely give to me.  I declare that I love You, therefore I freely give to You.  I give You my best.  I give You my all.  I give You my heart.  I give You my desires.  I give You my life!  All that I am, and all that I am not, is all Yours Father.  Now use me as You wish!  You are my Lord!  You are my King!  You are my God!  And I worship You every day of my life, simply because I love you!  I declare this by faith.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

This is Today’s Word!  Apply it and Prosper.
