Align Your Mouth With Your Calling

by Rick

Note: This is the last message this week.  I will take a break for the rest of the week.  See you on Monday.

Today we continue our series entitled “Destiny’s Child – You Are Not a Mistake!”  We have looked at Jeremiah’s call for the past few days.  I want us to back back to it today.

(Jeremiah 1:5-9 NKJV)

5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

6 Then said I: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”

7 But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak.

8  Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.

9 Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.”

So what does this mean for you today?  A few things.

When God revealed to Jeremiah what he was called to do (be a Prophet unto the nations), Jeremiah responded, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”  God then said, “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak.”  God is never please when you speak against His assignment.  Let’s talk about it.

1.  Faith is something you say or do, based on what you believe God revealed to you.

— Faith enables you to live on earth, informed by heaven.

— Faith is what happens when God reveals something that is future to you, but past to Him (because He is in eternity), and you then live your life based on that revelation.

— Faith requires us to hear from God, discern His voice, believe what He said, and then attempt whatever human actions are required to bring it to pass.  If you understand this, you know why words are so important.  Your faith is a response to God’s grace.  By faith, you get to align your words and deeds with what God promised.  Therefore, your words matter.

2.  Your words can agree with heaven, positioning you to experience heaven on earth, or they can keep you bound to the limits of the earth.

— The power of death and life are released through the tongue (Proverbs 18:21).  This is why God NEVER wants you to speak against what He reveals.

— The Bible has so much to say about the importance of your words because, with your words, you either agree with God or satan.  Your words are either aligning with the Kingdom of God or the kingdom of darkness.  When you align your lips what God, His Word, His Kingdom, and His purposes, you are speaking the language of faith.

— Words are so important that when God revealed to Zechariah that he and his wife were going to have a baby beyond their years (supernaturally) since Zechariah was not positioned to speak the language of faith over the promise, God shut Zechariah’s mouth.  Zechariah was not able to speak until John the Baptist was born.  God did this to protect the promise.

— When you speak against the promise of God, you are putting the promise at risk.  This is why, as soon as Jeremiah spoke against the promise, God corrected him.  Your words matter to God, and they should matter to you.

— God is looking for you to align your lips and your legs with His promises.

3.  You must learn to look at your life and God’s promises towards you from God’s perspective.

— The goal is to renew your mind to think and speak like God.  The only way this happens is by meditating and medicating on God’s Word.  The more of God’s Word you get down inside your heart, and the more you digest, process, and believe it, the more you will see yourself the way God sees you.  When you get to this point, it will be easy for you to identify when you are NOT in alignment with God because you will know how God operates.

— Many believers don’t realize it, but they are stifling their faith with words of fear, doubt, and unbelief all the time.  You cannot pray in faith in the morning and then speak words of fear, doubt, and unbelief all day, but then think that your prayers will be effective.  Words of prayer must be followed up and reinforced with words of faith.

— No matter how long it takes, focus on getting to the point where you are conscious of your words.  Some people don’t realize how negative they speak.  They may not know it, but their words are holding them back from God’s best.

— The point of this series is to drive home the fact that God made plans for you before the world began.  Once God reveals those plans to you as He did with Jeremiah, you should NEVER allow ONE NEGATIVE WORD to proceed from out of your mouth concerning God’s promise.  Never speak against what God said.  Even if you think a thought of fear, doubt, or unbelief, don’t allow it to come out of your mouth.  The devil cannot read your mind.  He only knows what you are thinking when you open your mouth and tell him.  So, even if you are struggling to believe God in your heart and in your mouth, PLEASE DO NOT OPEN YOUR MOUTH!  If you can’t say anything positive, it is better to say nothing at all!

That’s enough for today.

Declaration of Faith

Father, this is a season of LEVELING UP for me!  I LEVEL UP the way I speak.  From now on, I shall speak the Word only.  Your Word says that I will have to give account from every idle Word.  Therefore, I will not allow any negative, idle, or unproductive word to come out of my mouth.  Words matter to You, so they matter to me as well!  I align my heart and my mouth with You and the plans You made for me before the world began.  Living this way, I know GREATER IS COMING FOR ME!  I declare this by faith.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

This is Today’s Word!  Apply it and Prosper.
