Grace-Produced Fruit: Virtue, Faith, Gentleness and Self-Control

by Rick

Today we continue our series entitled “Living the Grace Life,” where we will learn to embrace and walk in God’s unmerited, unearned, and often undeserved favor throughout 2025.

Key scriptures for this year:

2 Corinthians? ?9?:?8? ?TPT??

“Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything—every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.”

??

??Galatians? ?5?:?4? ?TPT??

“If you want to be made right with God by fulfilling the obligations of the law, you have cut off more than your flesh—you have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from the revelation of grace!”

Romans? ?6?:?14? ?ERV??

“Sin will not be your master, because you are not under law. You now live under God’s grace.”

??

1 Corinthians? ?15?:?10? ?NIV??

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.”

Additional scriptures for today:

(Galatians 5:22,23 The Passion Translation)

But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions:

joy that overflows,

peace that subdues,

patience that endures,

kindness in action,

a life full of virtue,

faith that prevails,

gentleness of heart, and

strength of Spirit.

Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless.

Setting the Stage:

Yesterday, we began exploring the fruit of the Holy Spirit, focusing on divine love expressed through joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, and kindness in action. Today, we will complete our study by examining the remaining four expressions: a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit. Understanding these fruits is crucial because they represent the natural outflow of God’s grace in our lives.  We don’t produce them through human effort – they are manifested by the Holy Spirit as we yield to Him.

So, what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

1. The Holy Spirit Empowers A Life Full of Virtue.

The Holy Spirit produces divine excellence that cannot be manufactured by human effort.

How this applies to you:

— Virtue is not about perfection, but about allowing the Holy Spirit to develop Christ-like character through you effortlessly.

— When you understand God’s grace, you realize that virtue is not something you pursue; it’s who you are in Christ. You are virtuous!

— Your virtue is not about trying harder to be good; it’s about yielding more to let God’s goodness flow through you.

— In the workplace, your virtue becomes a silent testimony that speaks louder than words, opening doors that networking or manipulation never could.

— Your integrity becomes your most valuable professional asset. People will trust you not because you try to prove yourself, but because God’s nature flows through you naturally.

— Virtue transforms your leadership from transactional to transformational. You lead by example, not by force or manipulation, and people willingly give you the LICENSE to speak into their lives.

— When facing ethical dilemmas, you don’t rely on corporate policies, but on the Holy Spirit’s guidance working through your character.

— Your consistent virtue creates a reputation that precedes you, making you attractive to high-level opportunities and strategic partnerships.

— Virtue allows you to maintain excellence without burning out, because it’s produced by grace, not human striving.

— In high-pressure environments, your character remains uncompromised, not through willpower, but through divine empowerment.

— Your virtue becomes a prophetic statement in a world that often compromises for short-term gains.

As you are led by God’s Spirit, you become a carrier of God’s Kingdom culture, transforming environments simply by being who God created you to be.

When virtue becomes your nature through God’s grace, you’re not even tempted to compromise your integrity for financial gain. Money loses its power over you because your treasure is in heaven, and your sufficiency comes from God.

2. The Holy Spirit Helps You Develop Faith That Prevails.

The Holy Spirit produces a supernatural faith that sees beyond natural limitations.

How this applies to you:

Prevailing faith is not about positive thinking but about believing what God has already completed in the spiritual realm and believing it so much that you make decisions in the present based on what you believe God has planned for your future.

— Your faith is not about what you can believe for, but about what God has already done.

— You don’t have to generate faith; God has dealt to every man THE measure of faith (Romans 12:3).

— In business negotiations, your faith gives you a supernatural confidence that isn’t based on your abilities, but on God’s predetermined plans.

— You make decisions from a place of rest, not anxiety. Your confidence comes from knowing God’s grace has already prepared your path.

Negative reports lose their power when you understand that God’s report is more real than temporal circumstances. In other words, living by faith enables you to see past present setbacks long enough to focus on God’s promises concerning your future.

— Your faith becomes a strategic advantage.  While others are stressed about potential outcomes, you remain peaceful, knowing God is orchestrating events.

— You speak vision into existence, not through manipulation, but by aligning with what God has already declared over your life. You align your lips with God’s heart.

— Your prevailing faith becomes a powerful witness, showing colleagues that there’s a different way to navigate professional challenges. You don’t have to fall apart when something negative happens.

You become known as someone who doesn’t just react to circumstances, but who shapes them through spiritual authority. You are not just letting life happen to you. You get up every morning and speak to your day by the grace of God and the power of the name of Jesus, and you tell your day what kind of day it is going to be!

3. The Holy Spirit Produces Gentleness of Heart.

The Holy Spirit produces a supernatural gentleness that is actually a form of spiritual strength.

How this applies to you:

Gentleness is not weakness, but power perfectly managed and controlled by the Holy Spirit.

— This gentleness is not something you have to maintain; it’s who you are when you’re yielded to the Spirit.

— Like Jesus, you can be both gentle and powerful because God’s nature is flowing through you.

In leadership, your gentle approach becomes more influential than aggressive tactics or forceful management.

— You correct and provide feedback in a way that builds up rather than tears down, creating a culture of growth and development.

— Your gentleness becomes a strategic differentiator in a dog-eat-dog world.

— Difficult conversations become opportunities for transformation when approached with divine gentleness.

You maintain composure under pressure, reflecting God’s peace in chaotic situations.

Your gentle leadership style attracts top talent who are tired of toxic workplace cultures.

— You become a healing presence in environments marked by stress and competition.

— Your gentleness opens doors that aggression would permanently close.

People are drawn to your ability to be firm yet compassionate, strong yet understanding.

4. The Holy Spirit Empowers Strength of Spirit (or Self Control).

The Holy Spirit produces supernatural self-control and inner strength that transcends human capacity.  This isn’t about willpower or forcing yourself to do what’s right. It’s about yielding to the Holy Spirit and allowing Him to produce His fruit in you.

How this applies to you:

— Your self-control is not generated by willpower or human discipline, but flows from the Holy Spirit’s continuous presence within you.

Self-control is not about containing yourself; it’s about yielding to the One who contains all things.

— The more you rest in God’s grace, the more naturally self-controlled you become.

— When others lose control of their emotions or reactions, you maintain supernatural composure because the Holy Spirit produces His fruit in you.

— You don’t have to force yourself to do what’s right; godly behavior flows naturally as you yield to the Spirit.

Your emotions don’t control you; you are led by the Spirit.  This means you can face triggering situations without being triggered.

— In stressful situations, you demonstrate Spirit-produced control rather than flesh-driven reactions.

— You make decisions from a position of Spirit-led peace, not emotional impulse or pressure.

— Your consistent self-control in challenging situations becomes a testimony of God’s grace at work in your life.

— People notice how you maintain composure under pressure, and it opens doors for you to share about God’s grace.

— At work, your Spirit-produced self-control enables you to handle difficult people and situations with supernatural wisdom.

— You become known as someone who can be trusted with greater responsibility because you demonstrate consistent Spirit-led behavior.

Your Spirit-produced self-control makes you stand out in any environment. Leaders trust you with increasing responsibility because they see someone who consistently demonstrates supernatural composure, wisdom, and sound judgment – not through human effort, but through the grace of God flowing through you.

Declaration of Faith:

Father, I thank You for producing the fruit of Your Spirit in me.

I declare that virtue, faith, gentleness, and self-control flow naturally through me as I yield to Your Spirit.

I am not striving to manufacture these qualities, but resting in Your grace to produce them through me.

My professional life becomes a testimony of Your supernatural power, not human ability.

I walk in excellence that comes from Your Spirit, not my own strength.

I am led, guided, and empowered by Your grace in every situation.

Living this way, I experience THE GRACE LIFE in 2025 and beyond. As I yield to Your Spirit, GREATER IS COMING FOR ME!

I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

This is Today’s Word! Apply it and prosper!
