God’s Timing (Part 3)

by Rick

This morning we continue our series entitled, “Refined Focus”, with a mini-series within it entitled “Focusing on the Word”.  We are walking our way through the first half of the first psalm.  Let’s get back to it.  The Bible says:

(Psalm 1:1-3 KJV) “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

(Psalm 1:1-3 ERV) “Great blessings belong to those who don’t listen to evil advice, who don’t live like sinners, and who don’t join those who make fun of God.  Instead, they love the Lord’s teachings and think about them day and night.  So they grow strong, like a tree planted by a stream—a tree that produces fruit when it should and has leaves that never fall.  Everything they do is successful.”

Today we will continue to focus in on the line: “bringeth forth his fruit in his season”, or “a tree that produces fruit when it should.”  The last two messages have been about God’s timing.  We will flow in that same vein as we close out the week.  Let’s get to it.

So what does this mean to you today?  A few things.

  1.  Divine success occurs when God’s timing lines up with earthly opportunity and the ‘human in the loop’ has the faith to tap into God’s grace.

  1.  You won’t be able to live by faith successfully until you learn to trust God.  Trusting God and His timing are critical because divine projects often take longer than human plans.

  1.  You can make plans, set deadlines, and develop schedules, but remember, divine fruit is only produced IN SEASON.  If you are out-of-sync with God’s seasons your timeline will have to change, but rest assured, there is a season when your harvest is DUE.  That’s why Paul said, “Do not get tired of doing the right things.  You will receive a harvest at the right time, if you do not give up.” (Gal 6:9).

  1.  When you are in sync God and His grace (which only flows in His timing), you get to truly enjoy life.  You are led of the Holy Spirit, doing the right things at the right times, experiencing divine results.  Like everyone else, you will still face opposition.  The difference is that you will face the opposition WITH God’s grace.  You will be empowered to overcome every challenge, acknowledging God’s goodness every step of the way.  This is a picture of supernatural victory and it is how we are supposed to live.

  1.  God does everything at just the right time (Ecc 3:11).  Trust God’s timing, believe His Word, embrace His grace, operate in His love, and you will experience the life you were born to live!

Closing Confession:   Father, this is a season of refined focus for me.  I bring my life into focus in 2016 by giving my attention to Your Word and by trusting Your timing.  I believe every promise You have given me shall come to pass in my life.  But I know they won’t come to pass until the time is right.  So I trust You Father, and Your timing.  I meditate and medicate on Your Word day and night.  I keep my faith switch in the ON position.  I build up my faith and I am always ready to tap into Your grace.  As soon as I discern that Your grace is there, my faith will be there.  My faith will tap into Your grace and I will experience divine results.  I have and enjoy life because I live by faith.  My faith is secure because I also understand Your sovereignty.  Faith is not me attempting to get you to put a YES on my plans.  Faith is You attempting to get me to put a YES on Your plans, in Your time, by Your grace, and for Your glory!  This is how I live!  I declare this by faith!  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

This is Today’s Word!  Apply it and Prosper.
